I recently wrote a guest blog entry for the Four Pillars blog entitled The Curse of Pretend Money. Juicy Excerpt: The reality is that your stock portfolio was never worth $1.5 million. The portfolio statement that led you to believe it was had been sent to you in January 2000, when stocks were priced at three times fair value. The real value of your stock portfolio on that day was $500,000, not $1.5 million. The extra $1 million was pretend money. Lots of comments. Some making solid…
Thank you. Before you do anything else, realise that you have Pluto at 1 Scorpio in the Eighth House of banks, currency and business. Starting slowly on May 15th and intensifying in June, Uranus (shock, revolution) will pass 1 Taurus and oppose that. So you will experience transiting Uranus opposite Pluto and that is going to change your world. When you say you work for a small bank taken over by a foreign investor, it is really clear that global shifts will personally affect you. In general you will benefit from the changes this year as you have a Scorpio stellium, apart from Pluto, later in the sign and Jupiter with all his solutions, breakthroughs and big answers will be in the later degrees of Scorpio from this point onwards, until November. Jupiter conjunct your Mars at 26 Scorpio in October brings gains, benefits and advantages to your personal ‘push’ over the money, house, business, charity, possessions or house, across the European Autumn. Before you get there, though, you do need to take a deep breath and find out exactly who and what you will be dealing with, in this unpredictable new world, and so you really do need to walk your way through May, June and the following months to get the measure of it all. This is not the world any of us ever knew.
This is the one that's probably freshest in the minds of most people reading this, so I'll just give you a quick background. Easy credit and soaring real estate values led to rampant real estate speculation by people who, quite frankly, had no business speculating in real estate. The mortgage loans used, which in many cases were made for even more than the inflated values of the underlying homes, were packaged and sold to institutions as "investment grade" securities.

It is well documented that prices tend to go up faster before a crash. This may seem counter-intuitive, but it makes sense in terms of “rational expectations.” For investors to remain invested in a market that is becoming more risky, prices have to rise faster in order to compensate for the growing probability of a crash. Otherwise, people would exit the market earlier and a bubble would never form.
On September 4, 1929 the stock market hit an all time high as a result of the American industrial revolution right after the Labor Day weekend.  At that time banks were invested heavily in stocks and individual investors borrowed heavily on margin to buy stocks.  By October 24, 1929 the stock market was down 20%.  On October 28, 1929 the stock market was down another 13.5%.  On the historical day of October 29, 1929 the stock market dropped 11.5% to bring the Dow down a total of 39.6% from its high.  The market had lost 14 billion dollars of wealth.  A quote from the Wall Street Journal said “STOCKS STEADY AFTER DECLINE  Bankers State Support Continues- Spokesman Expresses View Hysteria is Passing. ” Wall Street Journal, 10/30/29  (The trading floor of the New York Stock
I’ve lived in Korea for ten years, and I do feel that this time something is very different. Normally my gut feelings are right, and I believe it’s only a matter of time before there is a shift in the political situation here. Although, I do hope that if there is a coup among Kim’s people then it’s peaceful – my husband is Korean and I don’t want there to be full-out war. Just this month a North Korean soldier has defected from the border, though, (something that’s never happened before) so I believe in my gut that this is an indication of what is to come.

What’s particularly great about these blogs is how simple they make everything. Often people are afraid to invest because they may not understand the jargon or believe investing involves complicated mathematical equations that are beyond their scope of comprehension. However, these blogs are written in ways that anyone can understand because their sole purpose is to demystify investing.
I recently engaged in a discussion of the Efficient Market Theory at the Early Retirement Extreme Forum. The thread is titled Is Efficient Market a Theory, Hypothesis, Fact, Law or Notion? Juicy Excerpt #1: I want to be fair in my descriptions. I don't want to underplay the extent to which I believe the evidence has been misinterpreted. I believe that this misinterpretation has caused a great deal of misery. So I want to be firm on this point. But I also want to be fair. I don't want to be…
Likewise, stock prices have defeated all forecasting efforts, and may well belong to the same set of basic unpredictability. While occasionally somebody may seem to be on the right side of an investment ahead of a big move, this is a far cry from actually forecasting such move with any kind of precision in terms of timing and size. For each “hunch” that is successful, a myriad others fail. Despite anecdotes, there seems to be no clear evidence that investors who get a big move “right” are anything but lucky.
There is ongoing debate among economists and historians as to what role the crash played in subsequent economic, social, and political events. The Economist argued in a 1998 article that the Depression did not start with the stock market crash,[40] nor was it clear at the time of the crash that a depression was starting. They asked, "Can a very serious Stock Exchange collapse produce a serious setback to industry when industrial production is for the most part in a healthy and balanced condition?" They argued that there must be some setback, but there was not yet sufficient evidence to prove that it would be long or would necessarily produce a general industrial depression.[41]
We have entered a time when global events appear to be accelerating significantly.  Earlier today, bombs were mailed to major political leaders all over the United States.  In the Middle East, it looks like Israel and Hamas could go to war at any moment.  And we continue to see a rise in major seismic events – including three very large earthquakes that just hit the Cascadia Subduction Zone.

From October 6–10 the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) closed lower in all five sessions. Volume levels were record-breaking. The DJIA fell over 1,874 points, or 18%, in its worst weekly decline ever on both a points and percentage basis. The S&P 500 fell more than 20%.[36] The week also set 3 top ten NYSE Group Volume Records with October 8 at #5, October 9 at #10, and October 10 at #1.[37]

Admittedly, getting to the right mix can be tricky. The percentage of stocks you're perfectly comfortable with when the market is going gangbusters may leave you frightened and anxious when stock prices plummet. One way to arrive at a portfolio mix that jibes with your risk tolerance and financial needs is to go to a tool like Vanguard's risk tolerance-asset allocation questionnaire. The tool suggests a percentage of stocks and bonds that should make sense for you. It will also show you how various mixes of stocks and bonds have fared over the long term and in up and down markets.

"This is a most fascinating book about an intriguing but also a controversial topic. It is written by an expert in a very straightforward style and is illustrated by many clear figures. Why Stock Markets Crash will surely raise scientific interest in the emerging new field of econophysics."--Cars H. Hommes, Director of the Center for Nonlinear Dynamics in Economics and Finance, University of Amsterdam

Thank you NMJ. Cupido at 1 Scorpio in your chart in the Eighth House of finance, business, property, possessions and charity is the first target of Uranus at 1 Taurus, which will create an opposition. Cupido describes your passions and desires, and also your ability to make others feel passionate. You do this with complex arrangements involving partners, family and others. Along comes Uranus (don’t worry about Chiron) and in the outside world, you will experience a sudden wake-up call about what others put a value on. Currency, for example, will not mean – what it used to mean. Right up until that startling moment when Uranus changes signs, we may have assumed that US$1 had a certain value against the Euro or £Pound. Then we have other values. The price of a house or apartment, for example. The radical changes which shake that up from May, and again in the opening months of 2019, will make it necessary that you question and reshape those agreements with others. The key is knowing what is going on. Astrology says – move your position. Shift. Don’t deny or resist – history tells us that it does not work with this planetary cycle.

In this chart Uranus is on the 8/9th house cusp hitting that midpoint of natal Jupiter/Neptune. Now if this is the real chart it seems like the market will stay supressed longer as Uranus will stay on that point for awhile. Transiting Mercury is close to the cusp of the 6th. All the same planetary configurations still apply only the houses are slightly different. And this one seems a lot worse as transiting Pluto is going through the 5th of gambling and making the applying T-Square. So let’s look at the US CS chart and see if we can tell just how bad this really is right now in that chart.
Stock market crashes are usually caused by more than one factor. In fact, there are often two sets of reasons for a crash. One set of conditions creates the environment for the sell-off, and another set of factors triggers the beginning of the sell-off. Just because there is a market bubble, it doesn’t mean the market will crash. Usually something needs to occur to cause investors to begin selling and buyers to step away from the stock market.
Retrograde Venus will rise in the East on 1st and will create Bullishness in the stocks of jewellery, Gold, Sugar, Cotton and Textiles. Stocks of Capital goods companies e.g. Crompton Greaves, Havells and Blue star etc will sore higher. Sun will enter in Scorpio sign on 16th and thereby conjoin with Jupiter & Mercury. The Indices are likely to move Northwards. Retrograde Mercury will enter Anuradha constellation, 4th pada on 22nd. Stocks of hospitality industry, Travels and budget hotels (Kamat, Sinclair, EIH, ITC, Thomas cook etc) will be in demand. Energy stocks, Electricity sector stocks and Crude will show Bullish trend. The stocks of REC, PTC, PTF and Tata motors etc will be the favourite of the long term investors.
It was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States, when taking into consideration the full extent and duration of its after effects.[1] The crash, which followed the London Stock Exchange's crash of September, signalled the beginning of the 12-year Great Depression that affected all Western industrialized countries.[2]
I predict that the United Kingdom – Britain, will become a federalist state by the 2020’s. With a federal government and monarchy. Likewise, I believe that the British government will be instrumental in establishing a new EU – European Federation of Nations, with a potential return to an EU appointed Assembly similar to that of the United Nations General Assembly, instead of the current European Parliament, with the Commission becoming the civil service for the EU, and the Council of Ministers and national governments being more involved and effective. The so called Islamic State caliphate will largely fail – but will eventually became a region of Earth, the Islamic Union of nations caliphate, I therefore predict that you will see negotiations between all Islamic countries, leading up to the creation of an Islamic Union – caliphate.

On October 31, Halloween, children and adults alike enjoy playing with the frightful themes of death surrounding the feast’s mixture of Christian All Saints’ Day and Celtic pagan origins. But, in 2017, if you are one of millions of people who have investments, here’s something all too real and scary to rob you of your sleep. This Warren Buffett Indicator predicts a stock market crash in 2018.

I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Financial Uproar site entitled It's the End of the Investing World As We Know It (and I feel Fine). Juicy Excerpt: We are up against something very big here. When we discovered that it is not the sun that revolves around the earth but the earth that revolves around the sun we started a revolution in science. We tapped into many powerful insights in the years since as a result of that one, simple, fundamental change in our understanding of how the world…
Shadox at the Money and Such blog recently posted a blog entry entitled Passive Investing Is for Extremists: The Critque. Juicy Excerpt: His main claim relates no so much to how you invest in stocks, but rather to the percentage of your portfolio that is invested in this asset class, regardless of which stocks or stock funds you put your money into. I think that it is more correct to say that Rob is against passive asset allocation, than he is against passive investing as I understand…
Corruption in the Investing Advice Field — The Wade Pfau StoryThis article provides links to all of my reports on my 16 months of correspondence with Academic Researcher Wade Pfau, the collaboration that produced the research we co-authored that shows millions of middle-class investors how to reduce the risk of stock investing by 70 percent (Ssshh! The Wall Street Con Men don’t want this one getting out!) If you retain doubts re whether Valuation-Informed Indexing is a real thing, looking over the materials available at this page and then reading a few of the reports that strike you as particularly important will dispel them. I believe that Wade will someday win a Nobel prize for the work he did here. The reports show his own skepticism and his transformed into excited BELIEVER in the Valuation-Informed Indexing concept.
Markets traded at higher valuation at the beginning of this year. Price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of the benchmark BSE Sensex hovered around 26.40 times on January 29 against its 10-year P/E multiple of 19.40 times and five-year average of 19.90 times. The index was hovering at P/E of 23.50 on October 5 against a 10-year average P/E of 19.60, still indicating over-valuation.

First Total Lunar eclipse (partially visible in India) will fall on 31st January 2018 in Cancer ascendant. Cancer is a Watery sign and possesses movable characteristics. Waterrelated problems can trouble India. Stocks of Agro, commodities, grains, tea and FMCG sector companies will be affected. The investors of these sectors are suggested to stay cautious and are advised to book profit at the first sign of weakness.
Then there’s the issue of perceived value. Different groups define the “peak” of a meme by different standards. A meme’s lifespan is the opposite of a startup’s: when a startup goes public, it usually means an influx of money, or the founder cashing out and moving to a private island. When a meme goes public (that is, hits the mainstream), the early adopters declare the meme dead in the water and move on. At the exact time a meme might be the most valuable in terms of popularity — when it is being shared the most — others would argue the meme’s bubble has already burst. “The culture itself is very resistant to legitimacy,” Wink says. “It’s just this general feeling that going big is a death sentence. But in other communities, for example people who only visit Facebook, to them it’s not like, ‘Oh if I see this it’s dead,’ it’s like ‘Oh this is just the beginning and I’m going to be seeing this a lot more often.’”
All of these options will provide a basis that can make you feel more comfortable reaching investing decisions, but the best investing decision is often to sit tight and ride out market waves. You shouldn’t be making any radical changes to your portfolio based on something you read or viewed in an online course like this; the goal is to get more comfortable with the markets in general.

To help maintain a clear head during stock market crashes, investors should remember that they are business owners -- not ticker symbol owners. While stock prices may plummet, the majority of companies with good business models and strong competitive advantages will likely see a far smaller negative impact to their underlying businesses during these periods. So, be sure to detach stock price performance from business performance.
Now, me…. I’m doing meditation, clearing debts, and planning to just see what happens and not much options due to illness but in any case – I’ve got Jupiter Taurus natal at 20 and Scorpio sun at 24. I just don’t dare hope but thought I’d ask what you think? I’m zen about life so don’t sugarcoat, if you have time and I’m not too late to this. Wishing you the best! Thanks Jessica
In July 2013 Tesco security staff violated the UK Equality Act 2010 by refusing to allow a blind lady's guide dog to enter the Feltham shop. Tesco staff refused to apologise for the violation of the law for 5 days.[156] It was also revealed that security staff had thrice previously ordered a different blind person and his guide dog to leave the shop.[157] Following further incident in 2013 when the manager of Tesco in Sutton ordered a blind person and her guide dog to leave the shop, Tesco stated that their staff had received training to ensure that such an incident would not happen again.[158] However, a year later in 2014 three Tesco cashiers banned a blind person and her dog from their shop.[159]
Note that TB is spread by poor sanitation and hygiene, that we can relate to the"unclean" in the passage above; and Babylon was in Iraq. And galaxy M82 is in the Great Bear constellation Ursa Major, that we can relate to Revelation 13 where the Antichrist has the mouth of a lion, feet of a bear. And the bear is the symbol of Russia, where the Antichrist Putin is in power. Also, concerning the TB bacteria discovery in 1882, see this page on how a cycle of events began in 1883.
I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Out Of Your Rut blog. It's called Cash Is a Strategic Asset Class. Juicy Excerpt: Nobody makes much money promoting TIPS or other cash-like investment classes. The “experts” in the investing advice field HATE cash. No commissions. No acceptance into the “Experts” Club. No appeal to the Get Rich Quick impulse lurking within each and every one of us that tempts us into ignoring price when choosing our investment classes. This is normally a time when the sitting party does badly. I feel Trump will fare quite well despite new scandals. (10/10 Correct A disaster was predicted for Trump. See The Independent: “There was a bigger than expected majority for the Democrats in the House of Representatives; unexpected gains for the Republicans in the Senate; and better results for the Republicans in states where President Donald Trump stumped than where he did not.”
It’s not clear how much money Weingarten has made for his clients. At its peak, he says, the Astrologers Fund managed “under $25 million” for “under 10” clients. Some years, he says, the fund returned 100 percent; some years, “less.” A few years ago he stopped accepting new investors and began managing his own money exclusively. On a page labeled Disclaimer on his outmoded, space-themed website (“done in 2000 by a friend of mine who did porn websites”), he lists payments over the years from consulting clients, including natural resources companies, penny stocks, and—inevitably—a cryptocurrency startup.
And see the calendar pages on how a triangle pattern appeared on the sun on March 14 2012 when there was a 999 (666 upside-down) grand trine triangle astrology pattern, after the March 4 election of Putin the Antichrist in Russia. Does Putin the Antichrist 666 have power over the sun? Revelation 13:13 (King James version) on the Antichrist: "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men." Solar flares? Putin was reelected as Russian President on March 4 2012, and 2 days later March 6 the sun sent a solar flare towards earth. See this page on Putin's connection to Ra the Egyptian sun deity. And the Cold War appears to be returning, with Putin returned as Russian President, a Russian General having made threats in May 2012 of a nuclear strike against NATO ABM Anti Ballistic Missile sites being deployed in Eastern Europe. Revelation 13:13 (King James version): "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men." So could Revelation 13:13 be about Putin (or North Korea) launching a nuclear missile strike on Europe or the U.S., starting World War 3 in the future? Or could this be about Putin causing giant solar flares to hit the earth?
In my previous article entitled “Why Are So Many People Talking About The Potential For A Stock Market Crash In October?”, I noted that this has been the month with the most market volatility ever since the Dow was first established.  Absent some kind of major event, the stock market usually gets kind of sleepy around Thanksgiving and does not really spring to life again until after the new year has begun.
I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Invest It Wisely site titled Stocks Are Far More Risky When Valuations Are High. Juicy Excerpt: My interpretation of these numbers is that stocks are a less risky asset class than most believe. So long as you limit yourself to buying stocks only at moderate or better prices and commit to a 10-year holding period, you are virtually guaranteed to at least break even. That’s a very good deal, given the upside potential that applies when stocks are…
But I think an event frequently discussed in Biblical Prophecy called "The Rapture" will not occur, because this is a misinterpretation of Biblical prophecy by innumerable writers and preachers. Supposedly "The Rapture" would occur during or just before the rule of the Antichrist, and would be an instantaneous disappearance of millions of Christians around the world, leaving other people behind, and it is described as a joyous event where they will all go to heaven together. I think this will not happen, because these writers and preachers are not correctly interpreting Bible prophecy. I think we are in the End Times, but the Rapture will not occur. Or it could be that The Rapture is caused by a CERN LHC created Black Hole eating earth and all the people on it. In 2015 the LHC was turned on again with greatly increased power, making creation of a Black Hole more likely sometime in the future. Or The Rapture could be related to aliens, possibly a mass alien abduction of millions of people, possibly related to an alien invasion of earth that could occur within a few years, see the calendar page on it.

Juicy Excerpt #2: "Shiller does his best to warn people off relying on CAPE, saying that it 'has to be…
By NO means am I asking you to donate anything, as I put up the blog and post my thoughts for FREE, in order to help everyone out the best that I can. However, it seems common now for people to put up a "Donate" button, so here it is! Just ignore it if you wish, as I'll still continue to try and help everyone the best I can... without any donates required.
The UK Groceries Code Adjudicator found in a 2015–16 investigation into Tesco that some suppliers paid "large sums of money in exchange for category captaincy or participation in a price review". She found some evidence of benefits which suppliers derive from these arrangements, but also recorded a concern—to be investigated further—as to whether the purpose of the Groceries Code was being circumvented by these payments.[172]

Experienced investors who are “sophisticated enough to focus on these numbers and act on them themselves” can benefit by making their own adjustments, Mr. Davis said. Tried-and true investments like balanced funds and target date funds (which become more conservative as a given date nears) can make basic adjustments for you. Advisers can do this as well.
Danger at Balmoral – (added on 13 January 2018) My dreams sometimes prove true so have added this: I dreamed of being at the Queen’s Balmoral Estate and talking to a Scotsman gamekeeper. The man had the face of a dog covered in ginger hair.  He says the estate is safe but I show him three silver darts and say that these could be used for an assassination.  It is then repeated that it is a secure estate.  I point to a wall with hate graffiti and threats to the queen. “So how did that get there?” I say. This dream may, of course, be my fervent imagination. Nonetheless, I post it here today as was such a vivid dream and maybe an insight into a future event.
No expert prediction or technical indicator is necessary. The makings of the next crash are already clear. Whether it’s Janet Yellen or Jerome Powell who will head the Federal Reserve after February 2018, interest rates can only move higher. At the current rate of debt, even 100 basis points (one percent) higher interest will mean $200.0 billion in additional (not all, mind you, just the extra bit) in debt.
The markets peaked on August 25, 1987 with the Dow hitting a record 2722.44.  Then the Dow started to head down and by September 22nd the Dow was down 8.4%.  Then the markets rebounded and on October 2nd the Dow was up 5.9% from September 21st.  Over the next 7 days the Dow would drop 13.5% from its high on August 25th.  On October 19th, 1987 the market crashed.  The Dow dropped 508 points or 22.6% for the day.  This was a drop of 36.7% from the record high of 2722.44 on August 25, 1987.  The stock market has lost 1/2 trillion dollars of wealth.
Tesco also operated a home telephone and broadband business. Its broadband service launched in August 2004 to complement its existing internet service provider business, providing an ADSL-based service delivered via BT phone lines.[79] In January 2015, Tesco sold its home telephone and broadband business, together with Blinkbox, to TalkTalk for around £5 million. Its customers were transferred by 2016.[48][80]
Stuff to think about before you make your attempt at fame in the world of market callers? There is some deflationary stuff going on. Not Armageddon mind you, but, a barrel of Texas that was flying out the door in 2012 for $125 can be had for $46 today. Food is on the cheap so bad the supermarkets are begging for some price inflation so they can report revenue increases to their grumpy shareholders. I almost forgot, Maine blueberries are getting crushed with wholesale off by over 40%. Not enough buy pressure there.
Statistics show that in recent decades, shares have made up an increasingly large proportion of households' financial assets in many countries. In the 1970s, in Sweden, deposit accounts and other very liquid assets with little risk made up almost 60 percent of households' financial wealth, compared to less than 20 percent in the 2000s. The major part of this adjustment is that financial portfolios have gone directly to shares but a good deal now takes the form of various kinds of institutional investment for groups of individuals, e.g., pension funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, insurance investment of premiums, etc.
NR, still stacking myself. Picked up some more .22 and .30 Carbine at the last gun show a month ago. My next big purchase is a new 12-ga. pump, Mossberg 500 or 590. 6 cords of wood are stacked at the BOL now. My cousin just got finished replacing the batteries for the solar system and installed a new Flojak hand pump for the well. Still have the creek out back as a backup source of water. What I have left to move now is just enough to fill up the truck for bugout. The woodstove at the cabin was just replaced 2 years ago along with the pipe. Cabin was totally remodeled 3 years ago. everything is in top condition there. Bugout time can’t come soon enough for me.

The Stock-Return PredictorStocks are NOT always worth buying. That’s a Wall Street lie! This calculator performs a regression analysis on the 140 years of historical stock-return data to reveal the most likely annualized 10-year return for stocks starting from any valuation level. It essentially tells you the price tag for stocks so that you can know whether they are worth buying or not.
Mars will enter Poorva Phalguni constellation on 8th. Demand of Peanuts, Coconuts, flex and betel root will rise in Southern states of India. Sun will conjoin Saturn on 16th, when it enters Sagittarius sign. The conjunction of two inimical planets will definitely create lots of volatile situations in business and political scenario. Cotton, Textiles, Steel, Gold, Silver, Cooking oil and Ghee related companies will see hike in demand. Mars will enter Pisces on 23rd. The buying trend in the stocks of grains and groceries related companies will decline. In the last week of the year, the long term investors will take interest in the buying the stocks of Marico, Britannia, Tata Steel, TBZ and Voltas etc.

Hello! I am a psychic and I have a prediction to add! Tilikum, the orca whale from Sea World Florida, will kill her 3rd victim this Summer! If you’re going to SeaWorld this summer, be sure to have your cameras ready and get a front row seat for the Shamu Stadium! From what I gather, it won’t be extremely gory or gruesome, but if you don’t think you can handle seeing Tilikum’s “special performance”, you might want to go to some of the other Florida theme parks and skip SeaWorld for now…. I’m trying to get the warning out there as I keep seeing those SeaWorld commercials about how happy and healthy the whales are. In fact, they’re so happy with the trainers, they could just eat them up! You’ve all been warned…
Note the emphasis on every. Yes, there have been periods where the Fed raised rates and a recession didn’t ensue. Everyone knows the famous saying about the stock market having predicted nine of the past five recessions! That may be true, that rising rates don’t necessarily cause a recession. But as an investor, you must be aware that every major stock market decline occurred on the heels of a tightening phase by the Fed. More importantly, there have been no substantive Fed tightening phases that did not end with a stock market decline.
“The shift from active to passive asset management, and specifically the decline of active value investors, reduces the ability of the market to prevent and recover from large drawdowns,” Joyce Chang and Jan Loeys wrote in the Monday note. Actively managed accounts make up only about one-third of equity assets under management, with active single-name trading responsible for just 10 percent or so of trading volume, JPMorgan estimates.
I did some digging on those predictions. And i discovered that you were right, later sai baba denied those predictions. However, many people predicted indo-china or indo-pak war. Like anton johanson, viswaranjan brahmachari etc. According to some of them india’s sovereighnity could come under threat. Do you see any such thing occuring in india’s future?
The Online Investing AI blog has posted my Guest Blog Entry titled All Stock Price Drops Help You, All Stock Price Gains Hurt You. Juicy Excerpt: The mathematical realities are precisely the opposite of what I have described in the scenario set forth above. The first year, the one in which stock prices went down 30 percent, was the lucky one for investors. The second year, the one in which stock prices went up 30 percent, is the one which you should be cursing your bad luck. Price drops are…
This new depression will be somewhere between the recession we felt of the 70s, and the 30s, but on a global scale. It won’t be barrels full of money to buy bread, but there will be tremendous unemployment and people having to change their lifestyles dramatically in some cases to get through this time. I also feel that the length and severity of this depression/recession has been greatly reduced by the election of Obama. His chart compared to that of the US constitution signing, and the Dow, and NASDAQ are good. Most of his energy regarding the markets will be spent in re-structuring them for the future good of the world’s economy.
Additionally, many choose to invest via the index method. In this method, one holds a weighted or unweighted portfolio consisting of the entire stock market or some segment of the stock market (such as the S&P 500 or Wilshire 5000). The principal aim of this strategy is to maximize diversification, minimize taxes from too frequent trading, and ride the general trend of the stock market (which, in the U.S., has averaged nearly 10% per year, compounded annually, since World War II).
I recently wrote a guest blog for the Free Money Finance blog entitled Timing Doesn't Work -- Or Does It? Juicy Excerpt: Too many investing experts have fallen into the lazy habit of saying that timing doesn't work without making the distinction between short-term timing and long-term timing. A community member named "Brian S." offered an extremely helpful comment. Juicy Excerpt: David Swensen, the investment manager for the Yale Endowment, discusses this in his book "Unconventional…
No one can predict that the market is going to crash or not but the current situation of the market with higher interest rates; higher government debt and clear indication from Fed to further raise the interest rate in next 2, 3 years is indicative of a sizable drop in between 15% to 20%. It is important to understand how to keep your investments safe if market corrects itself or a bigger crash happens. Investors who are looking for higher returns on their investments without considering security and insurance will be in a dangerous situation.
