During the 2019 - 2020 time period expect to see economic chaos, wars, terrorist attacks, disease epidemics, great earthquakes, volcanos, asteroids hit earth. But how about in the past, were there any particular planetary alignments during times of economic problems? Yes, there is a general pattern we shall discuss here. During the October 1987 and October 1929 stock exchange crashes, the Planet Saturn was in the Astrological sign of Sagittarius. The significance of this is that Sagittarius, the combined horse/man, with Saturn having a connection in Greek / Roman / Etruscan mythology to agriculture as well as weghts and measures and coins, means that Saturn in Sagittarius represents the third Horseman of the Apocalypse, economic depression. When Saturn is in Sagittarius you may get the trigger event, such as a stock market crash, that begins an economic depression.
My main predictions in this area made in 2016 for 2017 was that North Korea would become the focus of world attention and conflict. My main prediction about this last year said: “Kim Jong-un will be fall from power later in the year – maybe December 2017 or January 2018” I know it looks like we are on the brink of war but my feeling is that he will be deposed by his own people. This remains part of my predictions for the time ahead. I also spoke of an arms race happening in the Far East and provocation from China forcing Japan to initiate an arms race. We saw provocations from China so this prediction is still on the cards. I also predicted a “serious threat of escalating conflict between China and India” – which has happened.
Houses and apartments are ruled by Cancer and the Fourth House of ‘home’ so when the North Node moves into Cancer towards the end of this year we will see new emphasis on property prices around the world, through to 2019. The special child in your world is really shown by Leo and the Fifth House, and you have a strong Leo signature. The North Node has been going over Leo so old karma has been activated. It is very likely that you, your niece and the special child knew each other in a previous lifetime. Flux is okay, by the way. In fact it’s necessary. Astrology can help by alerting you so that you realise what is going on and you go with radically new ways to earn, own or owe.
Personally, I believe that the S&P 500 will bounce back on Friday, but that doesn’t mean that the crisis is over. Remember, some of the best days in stock market history happened right in the middle of the financial crisis of 2008. During market panics, we should expect to see dramatic ups and downs. When markets are calm, that is good news for stocks, but when markets start swinging wildly that is usually a sign to start heading for the exits.
As a case in point, I present to you subprime auto loans, or loans given to consumers with less-than-prime credit scores (usually 550 to 619 on the FICO score scale). Having a lower credit score typically gives these folks fewer lending options, which allows lenders that are willing to work with subprime consumers to charge a notably higher interest rate, relative to prime-rated consumers. The problem is these consumers usually have subpar credit scores for a reason, and delinquency rates on these subprime and deep subprime loans are shooting higher.
I've put a guest post to the Balance Junkie blog titled Stock Investing Is a Political Act. Juicy Excerpt: We all have political views. And we all have investing views. Most of us don’t think of the two types of views as intersecting. Politics is the process by which we decide where we want to go as a society. Investing is personal. It’s the process by which each of us as individuals accumulates the money he or she needs to finance his or her retirement. How I invest is my concern alone,…
There’s also something to be said for knowing a thing or two about investing even if you decide to hire a financial advisor. At the very least, you should know enough on your own to determine whether or not an advisor is a good fit for you and can create a financial plan based on your goals. Fortunately, you no longer have to enroll in a college-level course to learn about investing (though you certainly can if you want to). The Internet has made it much easier for individuals to learn how to invest. It’s not just learning about stocks either – investors can now learn about real estate, dividends, companies and new investment products from the comfort of their homes.
It is well documented that prices tend to go up faster before a crash. This may seem counter-intuitive, but it makes sense in terms of “rational expectations.” For investors to remain invested in a market that is becoming more risky, prices have to rise faster in order to compensate for the growing probability of a crash. Otherwise, people would exit the market earlier and a bubble would never form.
This will work out, but you are dealing with a classic Aries-Taurus type. This person has a head full of steam, as they say in Australia. Part ram, part bull. The bull digs his heels in the ground and will not move, on pure principle, and the Aries wants to win – to compete – to do battle if necessary. You have also bought into the fight unfortunately because you have Juno at 24 Libra in the Seventh House of partners and opponents, so you tend to ‘wed’ yourself fully both to partners – but also to enemies. It can honestly be like tying a knot with someone who is against you. Of course you invested in this energetically because you have a huge sense of justice and fairness (Libra) and cannot bear things to be so lopsided! You also have your Nodes in Aries and Libra so I suspect some past life entanglement here. You have been a soldier, captain, guard – and similar roles – in many lifetimes and the idea of ‘fighting the good fight’ is embedded in who you are. I am very sorry you are being put this, but you have committed to him. The Nodes always show karma and I do wonder (if I had his full chart) if he isn’t your mirror and vice versa. I wouldn’t normally suggest all this soul-searching, but your Aries-Libra nodes (and in fact all your Aries-Libra placements) have been well and truly hit by Uranus since 2011, repeatedly, and I think a great deal of what you are dealing with here is karmic in nature. So if you change yourself, and change your approach/attitude, he changes in turn. Chiron enters Aries soon and will go over these same degrees, across your Aries and Libra placements, so you have to take that into account. The unpredictable, erratic nature of the whole situation will fade by 2019 as Uranus leaves Aries for good, but Chiron in Aries is still here. It may help you to sit down with your Astrology Oracle cards when you have some time and space and really go through everything very deeply, particularly as I don’t have the chart of the other person who is with you in this matter. And of course his/her karma is also tightly woven in. Finally, I will say that Uranus in Taurus is ‘a revolution in values’ and the core meaning of our values is what we will and will not sell our soul for; who and what we consider to be priceless; how we ‘price’ things we cannot buy like peace of mind. Uranus in Taurus, for all three of you, may very well result in a brand new calculation. Uranus is about being free. What price release and relief?
Charles Manson has been in the news in recent years, he is an alleged mass murderer in prison for life in California. This may be significant in our discussion of the Antichrist Putin. Note that the Antichrist in Revelation 13 has the number of man, and 666. Man-son. And note that the Manson murders of Sharon Tate and others in LA California was on August 9, 1969. That was exactly 30 years before the Antichrist Putin became Prime Minister of Russia on August 9 1999, at the time of an August 11 1999 solar eclipse over Europe, and the August 18 1999 Grand Cross Astrology pattern of planets in a cross shape. And actress Sharon Tate who was murdered was the wife of Roman Polanski, who in 1968 had made a movie called "Rosemary's Baby" about the child of Satan. Also note that Charles Manson's cult lived in Death Valley in California, and Charles Manson included Book of Revelation prophecies in twisted form in his twisted philosophy.
3. They also found, to the surprise of some readers I’m sure, “that some widely cited economic variables displayed an unexpected, counterintuitive correlation with future returns. The ratio of govern- ment debt to GDP is an example: Although its R2makes it seem a better performer than others, the reason is actually opposite to what one would expect—the government debt/GDP ratio has had a positive relationship with the long-term realized return. In other words, higher government debt levels have been associated with higher future stock returns, at least in the United States since 1926″.
Perhaps the best way to hedge your portfolio against a crash, is to make sure you always have a healthy portion of it allocated to cash. The amount you allocate to cash really depends on how much volatility you are happy to tolerate. More cash means you stand to lose less, but you will probably lose out on returns in the long run. A lower cash balance will probably lead to higher overall returns, but will also mean higher volatility.
Morningstar offers a wealth of information about investing — so much, in fact, that it can be intimidating to new investors. But its online classroom, which is free to access, speaks a beginner’s language and offers four different tracks dedicated to stocks, bonds, funds and portfolio building. The course is text-based (read: a little dry), but it covers virtually everything you could ever want to know about investing, with a total of 172 different courses.
It was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States, when taking into consideration the full extent and duration of its after effects. The crash, which followed the London Stock Exchange's crash of September, signalled the beginning of the 12-year Great Depression that affected all Western industrialized countries.
Planetary indications are indicating that the Bulls are getting tired and the Bears will spread their muscles by short selling. Profit booking by the buyers, short term traders and the retail investors will pull the Indices down. Mars will enter Capricorn sign and conjoin with Ketu on 2nd. Mars will aspect Sun in Aries. Although the Bears will try to create negative and dull sentiments yet the market will be led by the Bulls in the first week. Mercury, the planet of business & commerce, will enter in Aries sign and thus conjoin with Sun. It will be under the aspect of Mars & Jupiter. This planetary cocktail will keep the traders guessing and suddenly set Bearish tone. Sun will move to Taurus and Venus will move to Gemini on 14th. Venus will be under the aspect of Saturn & Jupiter. This will create a mixed reaction. Change in the trend will be visible from 27th, when Mercury will conjoin Sun in Taurus. Overall view for the May month is Bearish.
Stocks are categorized in various ways. One way is by the country where the company is domiciled. For example, Nestlé and Novartis are domiciled in Switzerland, so they may be considered as part of the Swiss stock market, although their stock may also be traded on exchanges in other countries, for example, as American depository receipts (ADRs) on U.S. stock markets.
I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Options for Rookies blog. It's called Advice on Options from a Fellow Who Knows Nothing About Options. You won't see the blog entry if you follow the link. The panic began again on Black Monday (October 28), with the market closing down 12.8 percent. On Black Tuesday (October 29) more than 16 million shares were traded. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost another 12 percent and closed at 198—a drop of 183 points in less than two months. Prime securities tumbled like the issues of bogus gold mines. General Electric fell from 396 on September 3 to 210 on October 29. American Telephone and Telegraph dropped 100 points. DuPont fell from a summer high of 217 to 80, United States Steel from 261 to 166, Delaware and Hudson from 224 to 141, and Radio Corporation of America (RCA) common stock from 505 to 26. Political and financial leaders at first affected to treat the matter as a mere spasm in the market, vying with one another in reassuring statements. President Hoover and Treasury Secretary Andrew W. Mellon led the way with optimistic predictions that business was “fundamentally sound” and that a great revival of prosperity was “just around the corner.” Although the Dow Jones Industrial Average nearly reached the 300 mark again in 1930, it sank rapidly in May 1930. Another 20 years would pass before the Dow average regained enough momentum to surpass the 200-point level.
David Crowder has grown his ministry and music as one mission, writing songs for the church he co-founded while at Baylor University. Crowder's unique expressions of worship and daring instrumentation have cemented his legacy as one of this generation's eminent auteurs. Since the band's breakup in 2012, he's continued a fruitful solo career, with back to back #1 albums on Christian charts. His third solo album I Know A Ghost offers heart-swelling anthems of worship, mixed into a spicy stew of musical styles.
So when you hear of predictions that may be worrying, remember that the psychic’s unconscious mind may get things right but may also be painting a blacker picture than what will really happen. I really do believe that the times we are going through now and in the near-future are actually a prelude to the beginning of a better age when people of good character rule the world and individuals attain a higher level of consciousness, understanding, and compassion. The Golden Age will dawn within us and for many, it is already happening.
I haven’t had any premonition/prediction but I did dream of a date, I’m not sure if it relates to me personally or on a collective scale (both even). I have never been given a date before but after the autumn/spring equinox last year in September a man told me to await his call on September 21st 2015. Now 6 months after, I still anticipate things are going to happen this September. I’ve read of a 7yr pattern of financial collapses that have happened ’01 then ’08 both in September, we’re going to have a solar eclipse 13th and the 4th lunar eclipse on 27th. There’s also going to be a UN general assembly in between the eclipses which the pope will be attending as well as American congress. Anyone else feeling things for September 2015?
I don’t think you are wrong about Trump winning the Presidency. He is very close in the polls and the Clinton’s who totally control the media have faked the polls to show she is winning (came out in Wikileaks), but she isn’t. All their corruption is coming to light through WikiLeaks, disgruntled FBI agents, and alternative media investigative journalism. Moreover, the astronomical increase in the cost of health premiums under ObamaCare is turning tons of people away from Clinton. The only way she could win is by rigging big time the elections, but Trump supporters have organized an army of people to address the rigging.
The total value of equity-backed securities in the United States rose over 600% in the 25 years between 1989 and 2012 as market capitalization expanded from $2,790 billion to $18,668 billion. Direct ownership of stock by individuals rose slightly from 17.8% in 1992 to 17.9% in 2007, with the median value of these holdings rising from $14,778 to $17,000. Indirect participation in the form of retirement accounts rose from 39.3% in 1992 to 52.6% in 2007, with the median value of these accounts more than doubling from $22,000 to $45,000 in that time. Rydqvist, Spizman, and Strebulaev attribute the differential growth in direct and indirect holdings to differences in the way each are taxed in the United States. Investments in pension funds and 401ks, the two most common vehicles of indirect participation, are taxed only when funds are withdrawn from the accounts. Conversely, the money used to directly purchase stock is subject to taxation as are any dividends or capital gains they generate for the holder. In this way the current tax code incentivizes individuals to invest indirectly.
Indeed, Buffett's ability to tune out the noise and remain optimistic amid these downturns has played a vital role in his unrivaled performance over decades. Between 1965 and the end of 2017, Berkshire's market value has increased at an annualized rate of 20.9%, more than doubling the S&P 500's average annual growth of 9.9% during this same period. This 20.9% annualized growth rate for Berkshire's market value translates to a total return of 2,404,748%, obliterating the S&P 500's 15,508% gain during the same timeframe.
I will give a detailed description of my theories in this web site. Also discussed here: economic predictions and the Stock Market, predictions of world events for this year and future years. And the election of President Barack Obama brings Hope to the world in a time of great economic crisis. I think the election of President Obama is part of a trend discussed on this page, where Hope for the world comes from the Southern Hemisphere. Note that Kenya is on the equator, where the Southern Hemisphere begins. This is related to the 1987 Southern Hemisphere Supernova, which resulted in a wave of positive change in the Southern Hemisphere, with Democracy coming to South America and positive change in South Africa.
As of 2015, there are a total of 60 stock exchanges in the world with a total market capitalization of $69 trillion. Of these, there are 16 exchanges with a market capitalization of $1 trillion or more, and they account for 87% of global market capitalization. Apart from the Australian Securities Exchange, these 16 exchanges are based in one of three continents: North America, Europe and Asia.
Despite the dangers of speculation, it was widely believed that the stock market would continue to rise forever. On March 25, 1929, after the Federal Reserve warned of excessive speculation, a mini crash occurred as investors started to sell stocks at a rapid pace, exposing the market's shaky foundation. Two days later, banker Charles E. Mitchell announced that his company, the National City Bank, would provide $25 million in credit to stop the market's slide. Mitchell's move brought a temporary halt to the financial crisis, and call money declined from 20 to 8 percent. However, the American economy showed ominous signs of trouble: steel production declined, construction was sluggish, automobile sales went down, and consumers were building up high debts because of easy credit. Despite all these economic trouble signs and the market breaks in March and May 1929, stocks resumed their advance in June and the gains continued almost unabated until early September 1929 (the Dow Jones average gained more than 20% between June and September). The market had been on a nine-year run that saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average increase in value tenfold, peaking at 381.17 on September 3, 1929. Shortly before the crash, economist Irving Fisher famously proclaimed, "Stock prices have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau." The optimism and financial gains of the great bull market were shaken after a well publicized early September prediction from financial expert Roger Babson that "a crash was coming". The initial September decline was thus called the "Babson Break" in the press. This was the start of the Great Crash, although until the severe phase of the crash in October, many investors regarded the September "Babson Break" as a "healthy correction" and buying opportunity.
In terms of the wider UK retail market, Tesco sales account for around one pound in every ten spent in British shops. In 2007 it was reported that its share was even larger, with one pound in every seven spent going to Tesco. In 2006, Inverness was branded as "Tescotown", because well over 50p in every £1 spent on food is believed to be spent in its three Tesco shops. By 2014 competition from other retailers led to a fall in Tesco's market share to 28.7%; this was the lowest level in a decade.
It’s been my intuition for a number of years now that there is a lot of criminal activity taking place in the stock market and I feel the uncovering of this is part of Pluto going over the first house of the Dow. I mentioned this in earlier posts. I feel we are entering into this phase of Pluto now where a lot of dirty tricks, insider trading, corruption and scams are exposed. Pluto is going to clean house, and while this is good in the long run, it will disrupt people’s faith in the market, and bring down value substantially.
On Black Monday, the markets were a bit different than today. That’s the explanation that many market optimists like to offer when they explain why another Black Monday can’t happen. That is, the market cannot lose some 23% of its value in a single trading session. They might be right, but in the opposite direction. The markets now have human as well as computer input through so-called robot trading. They have more variables and are more complicated. But information and risks travel much faster. If anything, the risks of a major market crash are higher today.
When do we see Uranus in Taurus and Jupiter in Scorpio circle 2, 3, 4 degrees and 22, 23, 24 degrees respectively? These are the dates set for London in 2018. Allow up to 24 hours either side for world time zones. I am writing this exactly one month ahead of time: On Monday 14th, Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th May the world will enter Global Financial Crisis 2. The difference this time is – if you invent, innovate and co-create a radically different new business, taxation and trade world with like-minded people – you will gain in 2018, 2019, 2020 and beyond. Why? That is what Uranus in Taurus is here to achieve. A revolution which sets you and others free.
The Tesco supermarket chain is involved in litigation such as the Ward v Tesco Stores Ltd and Tesco Supermarkets Ltd v Nattrass cases. Tesco have been criticized for aggressively pursuing critics of the company in Thailand. Writer and former MP Jit Siratranont faced up to two years in jail and a £16.4 million libel damages claim for saying that Tesco was expanding aggressively at the expense of small local retailers. Tesco served him with writs for criminal defamation and civil libel. The Thai court dismissed the case, ruling that the criticism made by the defendant was 'in good faith by way of fair comment on any person or thing subjected to public criticism'.
I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Free From Broke site called How to Change Your Stock Allocation in Response to Valuation Shifts. Juicy Excerpt: Stock valuations do not jump randomly from super-low levels to super-high levels. They change gradually over a 30-year or 35-year time period. They start at super-low levels, move to fair-value levels, continue moving up until they reach insanely high levels, and then crash hard. We are today at a P/E10 of 21, working our way down from…

In margin buying, the trader borrows money (at interest) to buy a stock and hopes for it to rise. Most industrialized countries have regulations that require that if the borrowing is based on collateral from other stocks the trader owns outright, it can be a maximum of a certain percentage of those other stocks' value. In the United States, the margin requirements have been 50% for many years (that is, if you want to make a $1000 investment, you need to put up $500, and there is often a maintenance margin below the $500).
Volatility in the Stock market may be witnessed between 6th and 11th. Demand of Cement, Coal, Copper, Wool, Rice and Steel stocks (Monte Carlo, LT Foods, Hindustan Copper) will be in demand. With the advent of Sun in Aquarius sign on 13th, the stocks of Automobiles, PSUs, Aluminium and Telecom companies (ITI, NALCO, Hindalco, Ashok Leyland & Tata Motors) will rise in prices, due to increase in demand. The stocks of rice, grains, coffee and tea may see a decline. The traders & businessmen will feel discouragement to expand their business, due to stringent laws & tough policies of the government. Profit booking is advisable between 12th and 19th, which will make the Indices move Southwards till 20th. Short term experienced traders can try their daily luck in ups and downs of the market after 20th.
Thank you for the response! So what I am hearing is that waiting to see how this new world shakes out may be the more sensible choice. It sounds like it will be happening very quickly – and that we will need to be on our toes and ready to shift with the changes. You haven’t mentioned world conflicts being predominant with all these financial changes – is that on your mind? In 1935 fascism in Germany and Italy were on the rise, League of Nations (forerunner of UN) sanctions were ineffective at curbing German/Italian conquests, and Americans were reluctant to get involved as the aftermath of WWI was still strong. Now Americans again are pulling back from policing the world, and countries like China and Russia are taking territory (South China sea islands, Crimea/Ukraine). The world seems unable to stand up to them. Along with the financial shocks which will surely cause a lot of distress and upheaval, does this look like a similar set up for world conflict?
Tesco also operated a home telephone and broadband business. Its broadband service launched in August 2004 to complement its existing internet service provider business, providing an ADSL-based service delivered via BT phone lines. In January 2015, Tesco sold its home telephone and broadband business, together with Blinkbox, to TalkTalk for around £5 million. Its customers were transferred by 2016.
I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Balance Junkie blog titled How to Use Valuation-Informed Indexing -- Part One. Juicy Excerpt: There is one important factor that can never be priced in to your purchase of an index fund — overvaluation. To overvalue a fund is to misprice it. Mispricing by definition can never be factored into the price you pay and must be considered separately. Say that you pay two times the fair price for an income stream of 6 percent real. You obviously are…

Do you buy cheap fashion? Uranus in Taurus from May 2018, for years to come, says ‘Don’t be a dummy. People in poor countries make the cheap fashion.’ Heads are going to roll in any system which keeps our fellow human beings down. Manufacturing – if it is exploitative – could take a king hit. Why do we say ‘heads roll’ on a Uranus transit? Because Uranus was found in the same year that The French Revolution was seeded, and that’s 1781. Marie Antoinette (and her wardrobe) did not last long.

It was later determined that the flash crash was caused by the sale of a large amount of S&P 500 e-mini futures contracts, which in turn caused a ripple effect of automated trading that triggered the big drop. The market quickly recovered the majority of the flash-crash losses, and reforms were subsequently passed that intended to prevent a repeat, but with ever-evolving trading technologies, a flash crash remains a possibility going forward.
In 12th-century France, the courretiers de change were concerned with managing and regulating the debts of agricultural communities on behalf of the banks. Because these men also traded with debts, they could be called the first brokers. A common misbelief is that, in late 13th-century Bruges, commodity traders gathered inside the house of a man called Van der Beurze, and in 1409 they became the "Brugse Beurse", institutionalizing what had been, until then, an informal meeting, but actually, the family Van der Beurze had a building in Antwerp where those gatherings occurred; the Van der Beurze had Antwerp, as most of the merchants of that period, as their primary place for trading. The idea quickly spread around Flanders and neighboring countries and "Beurzen" soon opened in Ghent and Rotterdam.
When markets are very volatile, the overall trend tends to be down. So what investors should be hoping for are extremely boring days on Wall Street when not much happens. That has been the usual state of affairs for much of the past decade, but now volatility has returned with a vengeance. The following is how CNBC summarized the carnage that we witnessed on Friday…
Set forth below is the text of a Guest Blog Entry that I recently submitted to my friend "Pop" at the Pop Economics blog. Pop asked that I take a different focus and on Saturday I submitted a different version. So I thought I would set forth here the language of the initial take. It's entitled "Valuation-Informed Investing Is Risk-Diminished Investing." My name is Rob Bennett. I am the author of a Google Knol entitled “Why Buy-and-Hold Investing Can Never Work” and argue for an…
Bernanke said in March 2007 that the sub-prime mortgage mess could be “contained.” And Greenspan famously inveighed against the stock market’s “irrational exuberance” in 1996. If you listened to him then and exited stocks, you would rue your decision: The market had a fabulous run for the next four years. Rogers is a perma-bear about domestic stocks, who has been downbeat since the 1980s (he is famously enthusiastic about emerging markets, though).
