To help maintain a clear head during stock market crashes, investors should remember that they are business owners -- not ticker symbol owners. While stock prices may plummet, the majority of companies with good business models and strong competitive advantages will likely see a far smaller negative impact to their underlying businesses during these periods. So, be sure to detach stock price performance from business performance.

I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Invest It Wisely site titled Stocks Are Far More Risky When Valuations Are High. Juicy Excerpt: My interpretation of these numbers is that stocks are a less risky asset class than most believe. So long as you limit yourself to buying stocks only at moderate or better prices and commit to a 10-year holding period, you are virtually guaranteed to at least break even. That’s a very good deal, given the upside potential that applies when stocks are…
Tulip Mania (in the mid-1630s) is often considered to be the first recorded speculative bubble. Historically, early stock market bubbles and crashes have also their roots in socio-politico-economic activities of the 17th-century Dutch Republic (the birthplace of the world's first formal stock exchange and market),[3][4][5][6][7] the Dutch East India Company (the world's first formally listed public company), and the Dutch West India Company (WIC/GWIC) in particular. As Stringham & Curott (2015) remarked, "Business ventures with multiple shareholders became popular with commenda contracts in medieval Italy (Greif, 2006, p. 286), and Malmendier (2009) provides evidence that shareholder companies date back to ancient Rome. Yet the title of the world's first stock market deservedly goes to that of seventeenth-century Amsterdam, where an active secondary market in company shares emerged. The two major companies were the Dutch East India Company and the Dutch West India Company, founded in 1602 and 1621. Other companies existed, but they were not as large and constituted a small portion of the stock market (Israel [1989] 1991, 109–112; Dehing and 't Hart 1997, 54; de la Vega [1688] 1996, 173)."[8]
“The shift from active to passive asset management, and specifically the decline of active value investors, reduces the ability of the market to prevent and recover from large drawdowns,” Joyce Chang and Jan Loeys wrote in the Monday note. Actively managed accounts make up only about one-third of equity assets under management, with active single-name trading responsible for just 10 per cent or so of trading volume, JPMorgan estimates.
The resultant rise of mass unemployment is seen as a result of the crash, although the crash is by no means the sole event that contributed to the depression. The Wall Street Crash is usually seen as having the greatest impact on the events that followed and therefore is widely regarded as signaling the downward economic slide that initiated the Great Depression. True or not, the consequences were dire for almost everybody. Most academic experts agree on one aspect of the crash: It wiped out billions of dollars of wealth in one day, and this immediately depressed consumer buying.[36]
The USA is a religious nation that has been misguided by religious fundamentalism and a literal reading of Christian doctrine. From a spiritual standpoint, the USA is suffering from fear and intolerance that results in social and spiritual division. A belief in a loving God should not divide but unite people and have tolerance for those on alternative paths. Spiritually minded people in the USA can influence their nation’s path with thoughts of tolerance and acceptance of all cultures and faiths. Hope and prayer are not enough for, as they say in India, hands that help are greater than lips that pray.

One of the worst stock market crashes in U.S. history was the Panic of 1907. The stock market fell by about 50% during a three-week period in October and November of 1907, and started with a stock manipulation scheme gone wrong, which led to the collapse of the Knickerbocker Trust. This subsequently led to a panic that resulted in a string of bank failures.

Though the Trump administration has looked to tariffs to help balance out a huge trade deficit with China, these added costs on aluminum, steel, and potentially other Chinese goods, could come back to haunt businesses and U.S. consumers. As material costs rise as a result of tariffs, businesses have little choice but to pass along these higher costs to consumers. That will likely result in less consumption, and an eventual pullback in spending from businesses, which may lead to a borderline recession.
{+/-} This is the most important market indicator.  Major financial down turns have correlated remarkably well with Mars-Jupiter-Saturn aspects.  A brief history illustrates:  The three-planet cycle correctly indicated a correction near August and December 2007.  The next Mars-Jupiter-Saturn aspect was in January 2009, correctly predicting the Great Recession.  Mars-Jupiter-Saturn again formed an aspect with one another in August 2010.  The market did reach a yearly low (9686 DJIA) the week ending July 2.  March 2011 was the next alignment, which correlated with a severe market reversal in August dropping to 10,818, and briefly breaking this low the week ending September 23, before climbing right above 12,000 by the end of the year.  There was another Mars-Jupiter-Saturn aspect peaking in July 2013 but this produced null effects.  The next market downturn was expected near February 2017 triggered by Mars opposition Jupiter.  This was realized the week ending November 4, 2016 with a short but sharp downturn.
Doubters and haters are only hurting themselves, Morris said: “My clients are pragmatic—if it works, they use it.” But financial astrology is hardly foolproof. In one prominent prediction flop, London-based financial astrologer Christeen Skinner surmised that Hillary Clinton would definitely win the 2016 U.S. election, but would be too bogged down by influenza to attend her own inauguration.

Watch out for economic chaos in 2019 - 2020, and watch what Putin the Antichrist, the 1st horseman, is doing in Russia, such as invading Ukraine and intervening in Syria. Relate to Revelation 15 plagues. The 4th horseman Death could be riding as a Flu epidemic, possibly Bird Flu, Zika virus SARS. Disasters for the world in 2019 - 2020: flu epidemic, earthquakes, volcanos, solar flares, asteroids hit earth, the Antichrist Putin. The 2nd horseman War and 3rd horseman economic chaos riding in 2019 - 2020.

To see how this chart works in practice, let's look at how we might have made sense of the planetary influences that were operating at the time of the October 1987 stock market crash. The NYSE chart was running Jupiter-Mercury dasha. Although both of these planets are natural benefics and therefore biased towards price rises, a planet's temporary condition in the chart at hand is a more important determinant of its promise. Jupiter's dasha lasts 16 years to it is only a background influence. More significant is Mercury. Although fairly well-placed in the 11th house of gains in Taurus, it rules the 12th of loss and the neutral 3rd and is also closely combusted. So far, this is a fairly mediocre Mercury. However, what tips the scales towards the negative is that it forms a tight square with Pluto. Hard aspects with any outer planet are never good, and this creates a natal tendency in Mercury that will tend to manifest in lower prices during its dasha periods, as we will see in a separate discussion below.
It’s not clear how much money Weingarten has made for his clients. At its peak, he says, the Astrologers Fund managed “under $25 million” for “under 10” clients. Some years, he says, the fund returned 100 percent; some years, “less.” A few years ago he stopped accepting new investors and began managing his own money exclusively. On a page labeled Disclaimer on his outmoded, space-themed website (“done in 2000 by a friend of mine who did porn websites”), he lists payments over the years from consulting clients, including natural resources companies, penny stocks, and—inevitably—a cryptocurrency startup.

I recently wrote a Guest Blog Entry for the Improve the Quality blog entitled Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires -- and Bull Markets! Juicy Excerpt: We cannot wait until prices are insanely high to warn people that they must sell their stocks, however. By then, people are too caught up in the fantasy thinking that characterizes bull markets to listen to reasonable advice. I think we need a change in our mindset toward stock investing. We need to think of the stock market as a community…
But let's assume that you're not in the stock market and don't plan to be. The last chapter broadens the discussion to consider a wide range of problems confronting the world in the period from the year of publication (2002) to the potential "end of the growth era" around 2050. Many of the trends described have only become more pressing since 2002. This book is both important and fascinating--not just for investors but also for citizens of an uncertain world.
Thank you NMJ. Cupido at 1 Scorpio in your chart in the Eighth House of finance, business, property, possessions and charity is the first target of Uranus at 1 Taurus, which will create an opposition. Cupido describes your passions and desires, and also your ability to make others feel passionate. You do this with complex arrangements involving partners, family and others. Along comes Uranus (don’t worry about Chiron) and in the outside world, you will experience a sudden wake-up call about what others put a value on. Currency, for example, will not mean – what it used to mean. Right up until that startling moment when Uranus changes signs, we may have assumed that US$1 had a certain value against the Euro or £Pound. Then we have other values. The price of a house or apartment, for example. The radical changes which shake that up from May, and again in the opening months of 2019, will make it necessary that you question and reshape those agreements with others. The key is knowing what is going on. Astrology says – move your position. Shift. Don’t deny or resist – history tells us that it does not work with this planetary cycle.
So far, the market has gone up in bad news, threat of war; Trump’s saying the stupidest things known to humankind and [is under threat of] getting damn near impeached. The market still goes up because money has nowhere else to go. So stocks are the only game in town. They’re going to go till they blow, and it looks like they’re getting close to blowing.

This year has been significant in that there have been no wasps. Wasps like many creatures use the Earth’s electromagnetic fields as a navigational motorway. As we are in the flux of some change, wildlife is finding itself at sixes and sevens. As the electromagnetic fields and the gravitational forces increase, there is potential to use this power as a source of energy. This will not only solve the world’s energy problems but put an end to the wars in the Middle East that are caused to exploit Oil and gas resources. It will also stop Putin’s relentless need to control Eastern Europe and beyond. The change in the electromagnetic field will also alter man’s fundamentally left brain thinking to a more right brain creative problem solution thinking that is essentially more rounded and feminine in its notion. My understanding is this is a natural process in the Earth’s cycle. That humanity has been here before is without doubt. There is nothing for humanity to fear. The changes to come are one embrace.

Can astrology really predict the movement of the markets? Skeptics would answer that the only thing astrology can predict is a person's gullibility. While many believers of astrology do tend towards the naive "New Age" stereotype, an impartial review of the historical correlation between stock prices and planetary motion clearly suggests that prediction is possible, if only under certain conditions. One of the difficulties in assessing the relationship between prices and the planets is the large number of variables involved. Most astrologers work with at least 9 planets, 7 aspects (i.e. the angular separation between two planets), 12 houses and 12 constellations, to say nothing of asteroids, fixed stars, nakshatras or whatever other supplementary parameters one chooses to mention. Taken together, this produces a huge number of possible permutations that can be correlated with market trends.
The mathematical description of stock market movements has been a subject of intense interest. The conventional assumption has been that stock markets behave according to a random log-normal distribution.[9] Among others, mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot suggested as early as 1963 that the statistics prove this assumption incorrect.[10] Mandelbrot observed that large movements in prices (i.e. crashes) are much more common than would be predicted from a log-normal distribution. Mandelbrot and others suggested that the nature of market moves is generally much better explained using non-linear analysis and concepts of chaos theory.[11] This has been expressed in non-mathematical terms by George Soros in his discussions of what he calls reflexivity of markets and their non-linear movement.[12] George Soros said in late October 1987, 'Mr. Robert Prechter's reversal proved to be the crack that started the avalanche'.[13][14]

Market history suggests that increase in debt drives bubbles and when its government debt, the bubble is huge. Bull markets of 1720s, 1820s and 1920s led to historical market crashes. The Dot Com bubble burst in 2000-2001, and completely shut off many big companies while others suffered big losses that took years to recover. Market started recovering at the end of 2002 and then again the 2008 crash resulted in horrible financial crisis to the economy.
