The stock market crash of 1929 had transiting Pluto conjuncting Uranus in the 7th and making an opposition to the first house; it’s similar to the upcoming transits we’ve only begun to taste. I could go on and on about the similarities between now and then, there are many, but really the main point is to protect yourself. We, the tax payers, are already going to bail out wall street, but you can bet, you the individual share holder won’t be as fortunate. Take care of yourself and get out when you feel the timing is right — just do it before mid-December of this year to be safe.
But if U.S. GDP growth were to falter -- let’s say dip to 1% or lower on an annual basis -- then it would be really difficult to support existing valuations for companies in the technology and biotech arenas. And since tech and biotech have played such a critical role over the past nine-plus years in pushing stocks higher, they could easily be responsible for dragging the stock market into a correction.
In 12th-century France, the courretiers de change were concerned with managing and regulating the debts of agricultural communities on behalf of the banks. Because these men also traded with debts, they could be called the first brokers. A common misbelief[citation needed] is that, in late 13th-century Bruges, commodity traders gathered inside the house of a man called Van der Beurze, and in 1409 they became the "Brugse Beurse", institutionalizing what had been, until then, an informal meeting, but actually, the family Van der Beurze had a building in Antwerp where those gatherings occurred;[20] the Van der Beurze had Antwerp, as most of the merchants of that period, as their primary place for trading. The idea quickly spread around Flanders and neighboring countries and "Beurzen" soon opened in Ghent and Rotterdam.
Prolonging the good times into September will require navigating a calendar full of pitfalls. Of primary concern are emerging markets, where currency and other assets are weakening and some say contagion will worsen. The big risk is on the trade front with President Donald Trump said to want to move ahead with a plan to impose tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese imports as soon as next week.
3. How long is this correction and when will it be a good time to resume trading safely? There will be a POSITIVE transit coming on *March 14th*, so there is a strong possibility that things will start to pick up speed by then. Once again, the rule of 10 days applies here so start watching closely from early March on. At the time of [editing] this article (February 23, 2018), we are going through a slow uptrend recovery, so I will be keeping an eye on the stocks starting a few days from now, by end of February.

Bref.
Thank you for this post! I have invested and believe in, the value, technology, and potential of cryptocurrency. I entered the market at a bad time (prices were almost at the all-time high). And although I have “lost” a considerable amount of money (due to the prices falling) …my belief in the technology has helped me weather the storm. Although I don’t know how far cryptocurrency will go during my lifetime, I believe it is the future for my son’s generation. Because I entered the market at not the best time, Ive been hesitant to invest any further, even though I would very much like to. I am hoping you can take a look at my chart and give me any insight in this matter, as my intuition is telling me this is a solid investment for my son’s future. Any insight would be very much appreciated.
It looks like it could be another tough week for global financial markets.  As the week began, markets were down all over the world, and relations between the United States and Saudi Arabia have taken a sudden turn for the worse.  That could potentially mean much, much higher oil prices, and needless to say that would be a very bad thing for the U.S. economy.  It has really surprised many of us how dramatically events have begun to accelerate here in the month of October, and the mood on Wall Street has taken a decidedly negative turn.  Yes, U.S. stocks did bounce back a bit on Friday (as I correctly anticipated), but it was much less of a bounce than many investors were hoping for.  And this week got off to a rough start with all of the major markets in Asia down significantly…
When the planet Saturn was still in Sagittarius up until late December 2017, a sign where Saturn does NOT do well in due to Sagittarius’ expansive, philosophical/dogmatic and optimistic nature that contradicts Saturn’s entire essence of accountability, restriction, realism, hard work and no-nonsense attitude toward life and business, we had a few years of being in a cultural psychosis and learning how to NOT get too caught up in a (nearly) euphoric state… Aha… think 20-year-old kids turning millionaires just because they bought some Bitcoin or altcoin yet have 0 knowledge about how to put that $ to good use instead of wasting it all on toys like lambos and private jet flights…
Sadly my feeling is that more lone nuts will continue to do the same type of thing for some time to come. Celebrity and the Rich and powerful Kidnappings will become a serious issue too. I am very hopeful though about outcome of the School attack in Pakistan: I predict that Nawaz Sharif will make a real effort now to rid Pakistan of terrorism and ordinary decent Muslims will become more vocal about enough being enough. As well as cooperation with Afghanistan I believe he will come to a compromise with India too and terrorism groups hiding out in Kashmir and Nepal will be disrupted.
Of course, that's an average and the market's return is seldom steady and predictable. Yet, it's important to remember that these attractive returns include many periods when the markets have lost a quarter or half their value, or worse. As a result, even if you know a crash is coming at some point, which it very likely is at some point in the coming years, then it's not a reason to avoid stocks. Provided you can stick with it you'll likely see decent returns from diversified global stocks even including the catastrophic crashes that scare you.
Finally, sentiment. If the busboy just bought a new diesel VW with the money he made trading Apple? Keep an eye on things. There was a TV ad during the naz peak (1999?) for Schwab or whomever. FADE IN: Guy standing next to broken down car on the side of the road. Tow truck pulls up. Tow driver hooks him up and off they go. Inside the truck the passenger points to a big color picture of an island. He says “what’s that?” Tow driver says “that’s mine.” The passenger looks incredulous...”You own an island?” Tow driver smiles “well yea, I bought it with the money I made in the market…but, it’s not really just an island.” passenger bites...”Then what is it?” Driver replies…”it’s a country.”
“Investing isn’t rocket science,” says Janet Tyler Johnson, certified financial planner and president of JATAJ Wealth Management. “The keys to long-term investment success are globally diversifying your money, keeping costs low, and rebalancing your accounts as needed. And don’t forget the Golden Rule of investing – if you don’t understand it, don’t invest in it.”
Donald Trump, Memes, and Recess: A Short History Lesson 1928 Republicans take control of the Presidency, the House and the Senate. Followed shortly by the Great Depression, massive unemployment and a Stock Market crash. 2000 Republicans take control of the Presidency, the House and the Senate. Followed shortly by two recessions including the Great Recession, massive unemployment and a Stock Market crash. 2016 Republicans take control of the Presidency, the House and the Senate. Anyone want to guess what happens next? Real Truth Now Herbert Hoover was a Businessman. Donald Trump is a "Businessman."

The following day, Black Tuesday, was a day of chaos. Forced to liquidate their stocks because of margin calls, overextended investors flooded the exchange with sell orders. The Dow fell 30.57 points to close at 230.07 on that day. The glamour stocks of the age saw their values plummet. Across the two days, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 23%.

(10) Europe, Russia, and the Muslim world. Watch out for Russia, an increasingly negative influence could arise there. Not the type of democracy we see in the West. This relates to the Confederation of Independent States being originally a Confederation of 10 states, although I think it is more now. There is a red 10-horned beast in Revelation, that is a nasty creature. It is explained in Revelation that this is a Confederation of 10 states.

To be able to make good decisions amid a stock market crash, investors will need to be able to remain calm. As Buffett has said, "Investing is not a game where the guy with the 160 IQ beats the guy with the 130 IQ. Once you have ordinary intelligence, what you need is the temperament to control the urges that get other people into trouble in investing."
Good harvests had built up a mass of 250 million bushels of wheat to be "carried over" when 1929 opened. By May there was also a winter-wheat crop of 560 million bushels ready for harvest in the Mississippi Valley. This oversupply caused a drop in wheat prices so heavy that the net incomes of the farming population from wheat were threatened with extinction. Stock markets are always sensitive to the future state of commodity markets, and the slump in Wall Street predicted for May by Sir George Paish arrived on time. In June 1929, the position was saved by a severe drought in the Dakotas and the Canadian West, plus unfavorable seed times in Argentina and eastern Australia. The oversupply would now be wanted to fill the big gaps in the 1929 world wheat production. From 97¢ per bushel in May, the price of wheat rose to $1.49 in July. When it was seen that at this figure American farmers would get rather more for their smaller crop than for that of 1928, stocks went up again.
TALK WITH AN INVESTMENT PROFESSIONAL. HE CAN ADVISE YOU ON OPENING AN ACCOUNT THAT MATCHES YOUR GOALS. I WOULD SUGGEST AN INDEX FUND FOR THOSE WITH LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THE MARKET. INVESTING IN INDIVIDUAL STOCKS IS A MIGHTY RISKY BUISNESS. THERE ARE SOME GOOD MUTUAL FUNDS BUT YOU REALLY NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP HERE, AND TAPE RECORD EVERYTHING THE SALESPERSON TELLS YOU.
The crash of 1929 involved a total stock market collapse, whereas, during 1987 stocks remained in a bull trend despite the 23% decline. The bursting of the Dot Com bubble in 2000 doesn’t appear very pronounced on the above chart. However, remember it is a chart of the Dow Jones index, which only includes 30 blue-chip companies. If you look at the tech heavy Nasdaq for the same period, you will see a very different picture.
Some quatrains refer to the Arab Anti-Christ who will first gain control of Iran and other parts of the Middle East. In the book, he is described as a very good looking and charismatic leader who will use deception to fool the West. His intention is to conquer and islamicise Europe and he will have many successes. First, he will destroy Europe’s cultural centers in Greece and Rome. The West will be so paralyzed by these attacks that it will not respond until it’s too late.
Tom Drake, owner of the the Canadian Finance Blog, has posted a Guest Blog Entry of mine titled The Five Big Benefits of Valuation-Informed Indexing: Juicy Excerpt: Buy-and-Hold purports to be a strategy for long-term investors. The reality, however, is that most Buy-and-Holders pay almost as much attention to the short-term ups and downs as stock investors have since the beginning of time. The reason is that Buy-and-Hold posits that price changes are the result of economic developments.…
Hi Craig, its always nice to come across someone who has a real talent for these things; my only concern is that it just seems like the world is going to hell in a hand basket… What are your thoughts on the development of a the human race over the coming centuries, do your abilities extend this far? if not, will we ever see more peaceful and prosperous times in the next coming years?? if you have already shared these thoughts before I apologise! Take Care
Maybe what you saw is symbolic of what many countries want for the USA. Putin is far too intelligent to start a nuclear war in response to NATO gathering forces along his border. The US is the aggressor but always make it appear that other countries are. That is how they keep fooling their people to allow their government to bomb so many countries until they are a waste-land: Vietnam, North Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria. The US is a toxic country to most of the world, and their Deep State is trying to get rid of Donald Trump because he wants peace.
I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Sustainable Personal Finance blog titled Are Investing Experts Ethical? Juicy Excerpt: By the standards that apply in most other fields of life endeavor, the investing advice field is frighteningly corrupt. I worked for several years as a tax lobbyist (hey, we all have a past!). So it takes something special in the department of ethical lapses to shock me. The investing advice field is something truly special in this…

Doubters and haters are only hurting themselves, Morris said: “My clients are pragmatic—if it works, they use it.” But financial astrology is hardly foolproof. In one prominent prediction flop, London-based financial astrologer Christeen Skinner surmised that Hillary Clinton would definitely win the 2016 U.S. election, but would be too bogged down by influenza to attend her own inauguration.

Moreover, the leverage in many emerging markets and some advanced economies is clearly excessive. Commercial and residential real estate is far too expensive in many parts of the world. The emerging-market correction in equities, commodities, and fixed-income holdings will continue as global storm clouds gather. And as forward-looking investors start anticipating a growth slowdown in 2020, markets will reprice risky assets by 2019.
