As of 2015, there are a total of 60 stock exchanges in the world with a total market capitalization of $69 trillion. Of these, there are 16 exchanges with a market capitalization of $1 trillion or more, and they account for 87% of global market capitalization. Apart from the Australian Securities Exchange, these 16 exchanges are based in one of three continents: North America, Europe and Asia.[4]

Set forth below is the text of a comment that I recently posted to the discussion thread for another blog entry at this site: Rob, If these “goons” never existed, how do you think your life would have been different, other than the loss of mild entertainment? That’s like asking an oncologist how his life would have been different if cancer had never existed. In one sense, it would have been better. The oncologist devotes his human energies to defeating cancer, just as I devote my human energies to defeating the Get Rich Quick urge that animates the Buy-and-Hold strategy. So there is a sense in which the oncologist sees cancer as the enemy. But he doesn’t avoid cancer in the way that he might avoid some other enemies. He goes looking for people who have cancer to see if he can help them. He reads all that he can about new developments in the treatment of cancer. He wants to know everything about cancer so that he can do a better job eradicating it (because he loves people and cancer hurts people). So do I want to know everything about goonishness/Get Rich Quick/Buy-and-Hold thinking because I want to eradicate it (because goonishness/Get Rich Quick/Buy-and-Hold thinking hurts people and I love people). Does that help at all? I like you Goons as people, Anonymous. For all sorts of reasons. Because I learn from you, for one. But I believe strongly that, if you were thinking clearly, you would work hard to rein in your Goon inclinations. Because those Goon inclinations hurt you in very, very serious ways. You need to know how stock investing works. We all do. But you have made a decision never to listen to the 10 percent of the population that believes that Shiller’s research is legitimate research because those people say things that make you feel uncomfortable. I don’t apologize for making you feel uncomfortable. I think that there are circumstances in which we must live through a measure of discomfort to get to a better place and to experience lots of exciting, wonderful stuff. The words that I direct at you are aimed at helping you to find your way to that place or at helping others find their way to that place in the event that you elect not to go there and others elect to visit this site in the hopes of […]

Many astrologers like to characterize their method of reading a horoscope as "holistic", in an effort to escape criticisms from mechanistically-oriented skeptics. I prefer to think of chart analysis in terms of Boolean logic, where multiple factors must be present for a particular situation to occur. For example, we cannot expect stocks to inevitably rise when benefic Jupiter conjoins the natal Sun of the chart we are working with. Such a favourable pattern may be thought of as a necessary, but not sufficient condition for price increases. There must also be an absence of negative factors hitting the key chart points. These would include few close aspects from malefic planets, no planets transiting malefic houses (6th, 8th, 12th) and so on. Given the large number of variables every chart contains, there will be several significant operating planetary contacts and influences at any given time. These must all be evaluated for their relative effects of prices according to the principles of Boolean analysis. If we are trying to assess if the conditions are in place for a bull market, for example, we could construct a table that more clearly reflects this logical process.

Indeed, Tesla’s performance has all the makings of a stock market crash chart to reflect the irrational exuberance of 2018. Investors have pushed Tesla’s stock market valuation to such a degree that it has infected the healthiest hedge fund. It’s a one-stock Black Monday warning! Note the Tesla stock market chart. It’s moving on hope and expectations alone; every time the quarter results are released, the stock tends to drop.

The crash of 1929 involved a total stock market collapse, whereas, during 1987 stocks remained in a bull trend despite the 23% decline. The bursting of the Dot Com bubble in 2000 doesn’t appear very pronounced on the above chart. However, remember it is a chart of the Dow Jones index, which only includes 30 blue-chip companies. If you look at the tech heavy Nasdaq for the same period, you will see a very different picture.

Being a renowned astrologer is a bit like being a chess grandmaster: Lesser practitioners know how the pieces move, but virtuosos see the interconnectedness of each piece in solving the larger puzzle. That's to say that most astrologers can read natal charts and tick off a laundry list of future possibilities based on a set of rote rules related to planetary positioning, but Vashistha incorporates peerless astrology knowledge gained in formal academic training and experience with thousands of clients: He got his master’s in astrology at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, and a Ph.D. in raja yoga, a part of Hindu astrology focused on planetary situations that indicate wealth and power. He sees the whole board, as it were.

I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Free from Broke site titled Playing Dominion vs. Playing the Market. Juicy Excerpt: It’s possible to finish a game of Dominion in 30 minutes.  Newcomers to the game make dumb mistakes the first time they play. They learn from those mistakes. They get better. Investing is a game that extends over 60 years of your life (if you start at age 25 and die at age 85).  By the time we figure the game out, it’s…

Many people have predicted World War 3 taking place soon with Putin’s official announcement in late February 2018 of Russia’s invincible nuclear capability where the nuclear missiles are impossible to be detected by US when launched Many devoted Christians also have similar dreams from God warning of Russia and China invading US and Russian nuclear missiles bombing New York City such as

Unfortunately, the Fed is fallible, just like stock market investors. If inflation -- i.e., the rising price of goods and services -- begins to heat up, the nation’s central bank could choose to get considerably more hawkish with its monetary policy. Or, in plainer English, it could get more aggressive with hiking its benchmark short-term interest rate between banks. Should that happen, interest rates for variable rate loans and mortgages would be expected to rise. This, in turn, could put the brakes on economic growth, as well as increase delinquency rates tied to variable rate loans.
I’m from South Africa. I had a dream about me coming from work (Before I even had any knowledge of working at my current workplace). As I was driving home (on the road I am taking now), I saw fireballs falling from the sky and had only one burning desire – to get home. My dream was so disturbing that I woke myself in order to stop it. This is a recurring dream.
Perhaps the likeliest reason for the next stock market crash could be an escalating trade spat between the United States and China. After the U.S. initially placed tariffs on $34 billion worth of Chinese goods, China retaliated with tariffs of its own on an equal value of imported U.S. goods. Now the two sides are threatening to one-up the other with tariffs.
Essentially, the basic rule of financial astrology is: Favourable planetary alignments through transit contacts with benefics during the dasha periods of well-placed planets will tend to yield price increases, while bad aspects from bad planets -- a square (90 degree) aspect from Saturn for example -- will usually push the share price down. As already noted, situations where unambiguously good or bad planetary patterns predominate occur most of the time. This is the main reason why many astrologers run into trouble. They extrapolate too far on the basis of thin or ambiguous data. A more prudent strategy is to refrain from making predictions at times of conflicting data and only take firm positions when the variables are more clearly defined.

The sandpile study was introduced in a 1987 paper by Per Bak, Chao Tang and Kurt Wiesenfeld, three scientists working at the Physics Department at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Ironically, the paper was presented to Physical Review Letters a few months before the stock market crash of October 1987, still today the largest ever one-day drop. The title was "Self-Organized Criticality" and falls within a branch of mathematics known as Complexity Theory, which studies how systems can organize themselves into unexpected behaviors arising from the interaction of its smallest and seemingly independent components.

Over the last couple weeks I have had numerous dark dreams/nightmares. One recurring theme has been internal feelings of a need to purchase a firearm for protection (something I’ve wanted to buy for a couple years). The more I think about those dreams, the more I feel the urgency of buying a gun in preparation for riots, war, chaos, etc. I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I’ve had feelings of something huge (comparable in size to Armageddon) taking place in 2015 or 2016.
“ Even in the days before perestroika, socialism was never a monolith. Within the Communist countries, the spectrum of socialism ranged from the quasi-market, quasi-syndicalist system of Yugoslavia to the centralized totalitarianism of neighboring Albania. One time I asked Professor von Mises, the great expert on the economics of socialism, at what point on this spectrum of statism would he designate a country as "socialist" or not. At that time, I wasn't sure that any definite criterion existed to make that sort of clear-cut judgment. And so I was pleasantly surprised at the clarity and decisiveness of Mises's answer. "A stock market," he answered promptly. "A stock market is crucial to the existence of capitalism and private property. For it means that there is a functioning market in the exchange of private titles to the means of production. There can be no genuine private ownership of capital without a stock market: there can be no true socialism if such a market is allowed to exist." ”
“I think as Americans lose their jobs, they are going to see the cost of living going up rather dramatically, and so this is going to make it particularly painful,” Schiff said. “This is a bubble not just in the stock market, but the entire economy,” he told Fox News Business. Schiff is predicting a recession, accompanied by rising consumer prices, that will be “far more painful” than the 2007-2009 Great Recession.
As you can see, there is more to preparing for a market crash than making a stock market crash prediction. “Experts” predict crashes all the time, and most of the time they get it wrong. If you listen to all these crash predictions, you will end up losing out on the upside. And yet, you should never be in a position where a crash will wipe out your portfolio or brokerage account. To prepare for a crash, you should make sure your portfolio is diversified, and that you don’t have too much of it allocated to high beta and growth stocks.
His new book, “Zero Hour: Turn the Greatest Political and Financial Upheaval in Modern History to Your Advantage,” written with Andrew Pancholi (Portfolio), raises a loud alarm about the 2020s, which, based mainly on four demographic and geopolitical cycles, will bring a ghastly global crisis, or what Dent terms the dark “Economic Winter,” he predicts.
Finally, once you feel you've got a portfolio that will provide sufficient gains during rising markets and enough protection during routs so you'll be able to hang on until the eventual recovery, stick with that mix, except for occasional rebalancing, regardless of what's going on in the market. The idea is to make sure your portfolio doesn't become too aggressive during market upswings or too conservative when stocks take a hit.

(12) Asteroid hitting earth. There is a possibility of an asteroid or comet hitting earth within a few years, since it is described in Revelation 8. This is why an asteroid defense is needed, which NASA could build if they were funded to do so. These King James Bible Code matrices indicate there could be an asteroid ocean hit in 2018-2019, the asteroid breaking up into 7 pieces in the atmosphere as it hits, so 7 impacts, and a giant tidal wave resulting that floods coastal cities. This could be the "seven thunders" of Revelation 10:3:
Morningstar offers a wealth of information about investing — so much, in fact, that it can be intimidating to new investors. But its online classroom, which is free to access, speaks a beginner’s language and offers four different tracks dedicated to stocks, bonds, funds and portfolio building. The course is text-based (read: a little dry), but it covers virtually everything you could ever want to know about investing, with a total of 172 different courses.

The rise of the institutional investor has brought with it some improvements in market operations. There has been a gradual tendency for "fixed" (and exorbitant) fees being reduced for all investors, partly from falling administration costs but also assisted by large institutions challenging brokers' oligopolistic approach to setting standardized fees.[citation needed] A current trend in stock market investments includes the decrease in fees due to computerized asset management termed Robo Advisers within the industry. Automation has decreased portfolio management costs by lowering the cost associated with investing as a whole.

I believe that 4 of the Planets correspond to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in Revelation; Jupiter is the Antichrist, Mars is War, Saturn is Economic Depression, and Pluto is Death (and Hell rides with Death, Pluto has a single moon Charon, which like Pluto has a mythology connected with the Land of the Dead.) Saturn I would relate to economic depression, because in Greek / Roman / Etruscan mythology, Saturn was associated with agriculture as well as weights and measures and coins. So, there could be worsening world economic problems in 2018 - 2019. So the third horseman, economic problems, could ride (in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and much of the rest of the world, the U.S. I think will not do too badly, the economy dropping some).
Selling intensified in mid-October. On October 24 ("Black Thursday"), the market lost 11 percent of its value at the opening bell on very heavy trading. The huge volume meant that the report of prices on the ticker tape in brokerage offices around the nation was hours late, so investors had no idea what most stocks were actually trading for at that moment, increasing panic. Several leading Wall Street bankers met to find a solution to the panic and chaos on the trading floor.[9] The meeting included Thomas W. Lamont, acting head of Morgan Bank; Albert Wiggin, head of the Chase National Bank; and Charles E. Mitchell, president of the National City Bank of New York. They chose Richard Whitney, vice president of the Exchange, to act on their behalf.

Juicy Excerpt #1: I’ve always liked what Rob had to say. He has well thought out opinions about everything he writes. He’s clearly a very intelligent guy. So I decided to click through to his blog (A Rich Life) to see what he writes about. Turns out Rob is just a little crazy. Juicy Excerpt #2:…

What we’re looking for is the ‘Venn diagram’ of overlapping dates when we see Uranus hit Scorpio-Taurus at the same degrees – or close by – in the charts of a number of key nations or sharemarkets. What we’re also looking for is another ‘Venn’ overlap of Jupiter (bargains galore – and lucky for some speculators) in Scorpio, also hitting key degrees across Scorpio-Taurus. This is standard astrology.
He’d say that Trump had a brilliant strategy for getting elected because he used to tell me that it’s not the middle class that decides elections — it’s the All Star Wrestling fans, the 15% to 20% clueless, bigoted, narrow-minded, dumbest people in the country, who are easily influenced. Those are the people who have been most pissed off in recent decades because their wages and earning power have been falling as a result of foreign and immigrant workers. Trump [targeted] them squarely and won them by [a margin of] about 80%.
Vanguard tracks data to predict the likelihood of a recession at certain points in the future. In recent years, the company has put the probability of a recession six months out at close to 10 percent. Now, Vanguard says the chances of one by late 2020 are between 30 and 40 percent. That’s Vanguard’s highest-ever estimate for that time frame, Mr. Davis said. (A six-month forecast reported a greater than 40 percent probability before the recession that started in December 2007.)

David Crowder has grown his ministry and music as one mission, writing songs for the church he co-founded while at Baylor University. Crowder's unique expressions of worship and daring instrumentation have cemented his legacy as one of this generation's eminent auteurs. His third solo album I Know A Ghost offers heart-swelling anthems of worship, mixed into a spicy stew of musical styles.

Learning about the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and The Great Depression can be hard to understand for a young student. This book really helps the reader understand what really happened and helps them to be well informed of the events that took place over eighty years ago. The book really captures the reader's attention and keeps it throughout the book. Whether your students are or aren't big on learning about history, they will most likely enjoy this book. It is a very interesting topic and a very informative book. I would like to have this book in my classroom library.

I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Money & Such blog entitled Stocks Are a Lot Less Risky Than You Think. Juicy Excerpt: The price volatility of stocks is an illusion. It’s not real. Change how you react to it and it goes away. Stop taking volatility seriously and it goes “Poof!”. There were several good comments posted in response to the blog entry. Juicy Excerpt: I think you provide a unique approach to the topic. It sounds to me very similar to the idea of…
Tesco operates a mobile phone business across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. It first launched in the UK in 2003 as a joint venture with O2 and operates as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) using the network of O2 with the exceptions of Hungary where the network of Vodafone Hungary is used and Ireland where Three Ireland is used. As a virtual operator, Tesco Mobile does not own or operate its own network infrastructure. By January 2011 Tesco announced it had over 2.5 million UK mobile customers.[78]
The talk about Scottish independence is clearly proving to be a long term matter, despite it already being something that seems to have been going on forever!. Scotland is very divided but pro-independence supporters are adamant that they’ll get their wish in the next few years. Scots(of which I am one) on either side of the argument seem to be developing an unhealthy aggression towards each other, the longer it drags on.
Be sure to check out used bookstores, libraries, and garage sales, too. Look for books that teach self-reliant skills like sewing, gardening, animal husbandry, carpentry, repair manuals, scratch cooking, and plant identification. You can often pick these up for pennies, and older books don’t rely on expensive new technology or tools for doing these tasks.
Because stockbrokers tell people, “Don’t try to time the markets.” That works most of the time. But when you get a bubble of this magnitude, “Just hang in there — it will come back; we’ve got to diversify” isn’t going to help. This is a once-in-a-lifetime bubble-burst. Diversification didn’t work in 2008 because when bubbles burst, everything goes down except for cash, high-quality bonds and things like the U.S. dollar.
I appreciate this answer of Craig to ‘seeker’. It is in tune with my inputs from equivalents of Craig’s Naadi readings that say many evolved souls have incarnated outside of India [in west particularly] and this would have happen for quite some time. This will serve an inevitable purpose to serve in God’s scheme by providing support in bringing about an unprecedented spiritual New Age characterized by Universal Brotherhood and also mankind turning back to respective scriptures. They would increasingly realize during the changeover period that scriptures of all world faiths had been manifested by same One God in different parts of world from time to time.

2007 was the third year of drier weather and the onset of the Great Recession.  2008 and 2009 were wetter than 2007 but, then, 2010 turned drier by an inch and 2011 still drier by two additional inches.  2012 continued the short dry trend and was the driest year since 1988!  The economy indeed struggled throughout 2012 although stocks regained much of their Great Recession loss.  2013 finally reversed the drop in precipitation (don’t try to tell that to Californians) with an average gain throughout the U.S. of 1.12 inches.  Drier conditions in 2014 stalled but did not stop the gradual market rally.

Comet ISON seen in November 2013 was discovered in Russia (so connect it to the rise of the Antichrist Putin) in September 2012 by a telescope at Kislovodsk Russia, coordinates 43.9 N 42.9 S. It is green in color so could it be the 4th horseman of the apocalypse Death Zika, Bird Flu epidemic or SARS virus epidemic? So a shift of 151 degrees from the Lordsburg midpoint, refer to this page on geographic coordinates for an explanation. Corresponding to 151 degrees, Revelation 15:1 "And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues...". So could these plagues described in Revelation 16 (death in the sea, solar flares, rivers became blood, war, etc.) hit soon starting in 2018 - 2019? This web site has my vision, my visions and prophecies of the future. I relate the geographic coordinates of the point of discovery of Comet Ison to the discovery locations of Comet Hale-Bopp, with a shift of 151 degrees, relate that to Revelation 15:1, which talks about 7 angels with 7 plagues which could be a comet. This website has much on conspiracy theory, conspiracies, conspiracy theories.
In 2009, Tesco used the phrase, "Change for Good" as advertising, which is trade marked by Unicef for charity usage but not for commercial or retail use, which prompted the agency to say, "It is the first time in Unicef’s history that a commercial entity has purposely set out to capitalise on one of our campaigns and subsequently damage an income stream which several of our programmes for children are dependent on." They went on to call on the public "...who have children’s welfare at heart, to consider carefully who they support when making consumer choices."[126][127]
You were born with Aesculapia at 2 Cancer in your Fourth House of property, houses and apartments. Psyche at 1 Taurus in your Second House of banks, assets and debts. The North Node at 0 Sagittarius in your Ninth House of foreign faces and places. The South Node at 0 Gemini in your Third House of internet and negotiation. Put all that together and you have quite a story about home as an investment, home as a financial obligation, but also home as ‘home’ in the real sense of the word. When Uranus moves into Taurus in May 2018 and slowly passes 0, 1, 2 Taurus you will be directly affected by a global economic revolution, and in your own country, radical changes affecting everything from pensions to property prices. Aesculapia is about something/someone which comes back from the brink. Often this is a house or apartment you have given up on, which you either renovate back to life – or perhaps a property comes back on the market. Then we have the Gemini-Sagittarius question about foreign faces and places and the internet plays its part there too. I suspect this is about a substantial asset, as Psyche is about what lives on after you have gone, and she is in Taurus – all that you earn, own or owe. At the very heart of this cycle are your values. What you will and will not sell your soul for. Who or what you consider to be priceless. You are going to be asked to look at that very, very deeply and make a new life budget. Uranus in Taurus 15/05/2018 to 05/11/2018 starts the cycle, then it picks up again after a break during the re-entry of Uranus in Taurus 06/03/2019 – we then see this cycle extending to 06/07/2025 but you will feel it most powerfully in May, June 2018 and at the start of 2019. Bitcoin will have a massive impact on the world then and the ripples will reach you.
I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the MoneyCrush blog. It is called On Investing: Risk Could Be Almost Entirely Optional. Juicy Excerpt: Many top-name people acknowledge the problem. The trouble is figuring out what to do about it. If people come out today and acknowledge that the retirement studies used by millions got the numbers wildly wrong, the millions of people who relied on those numbers are obviously going to be very upset. The other side of the story is that people will be…
To a financial astrologer, this is unsurprising. Recently I connected with an enigmatic finance guy who for decades applied his astrological models in relative secret as a trader on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He was drawn to astrology via Buddhism, on which he overlaid, among other things, economist Joseph Schumpeter’s theory of cyclical creative destruction. The trader, who asked that his name not be used for fear of being shamed, cites Einstein to point out the universe is just a pattern of energy, and thus obviously shaped by the movements of large heavenly masses. How could markets not be affected by the sun, moon, and planets?
Just last year I started investing in real estate – it happened very quickly and unexpectedly last fall. We are now considering going even deeper into more real estate, but I’m worried about putting all my eggs in one basket. Considering my chart and all the changes to come, should I wait and watch, look in. another direction, or is real estate a good bet for me? Internally I’m feeling pressure to take action, but I can be overly urgent at times with my Aries rising wanting to go full steam ahead!

Grace K. Morris, a professional astrologer and president of Astro Economics Inc., similarly boasted that during the Great Recession, she accurately predicted that the market would bottom out on March 9, 2009. Traditional economists such as Nouriel “Dr. Doom” Roubini, meanwhile, struggled to pinpoint a specific date when the market would turn; Goldman’s Abby Joseph Cohen insisted it would soon rally, long after 2008 had become a flaming dumpster fire. (Currently, Morris believes the market will continue to roar until a major crash occurs between August 2026 and March 2028; best of luck with that one.)

There was a chart floating around in early 2014 that had a 97.5% correlation between the stock market of 1928-29 and the stock market of 2013-14. That chart boldly predicted a massive stock market crash in 2014. Instead, from when the market was supposed to crash into the end of the year, stocks rose nearly 10%, and were in the middle of the longest bull market in history.
Hi Craig, its always nice to come across someone who has a real talent for these things; my only concern is that it just seems like the world is going to hell in a hand basket… What are your thoughts on the development of a the human race over the coming centuries, do your abilities extend this far? if not, will we ever see more peaceful and prosperous times in the next coming years?? if you have already shared these thoughts before I apologise! Take Care
I've posted my second Guest Blog Entry at the Arbor Investment Planner blog. It's called Asset Allocation Advisors Cause Financial Crisis. Juicy Excerpt: There is no study supporting Buy-and-Hold. The idea that academic research supports this approach is a myth. People really do believe in it; both experts and ordinary investors. But they don’t believe in it because of a study they have read. They believe in it because experts endorse it and because it is rarely challenged. We have…

To see how this chart works in practice, let's look at how we might have made sense of the planetary influences that were operating at the time of the October 1987 stock market crash. The NYSE chart was running Jupiter-Mercury dasha. Although both of these planets are natural benefics and therefore biased towards price rises, a planet's temporary condition in the chart at hand is a more important determinant of its promise. Jupiter's dasha lasts 16 years to it is only a background influence. More significant is Mercury. Although fairly well-placed in the 11th house of gains in Taurus, it rules the 12th of loss and the neutral 3rd and is also closely combusted. So far, this is a fairly mediocre Mercury. However, what tips the scales towards the negative is that it forms a tight square with Pluto. Hard aspects with any outer planet are never good, and this creates a natal tendency in Mercury that will tend to manifest in lower prices during its dasha periods, as we will see in a separate discussion below.
