“The stock market moves in a seasonal cycle that is derived from a calendar that is computed from the orbits of the Earth and the sun,” said Bill Sarubbi (aka Bill Meridian), who uses astrology in his market forecasts as president of predictive analytics-focused Cycles Research Investments, LLC. (His predictions go out to 8,000 subscribers at a cost of $215 per year.) “By adding other relevant cycles such as that of the planet Mars, one will increase their odds of success in market predictions.”

Other research has shown that psychological factors may result in exaggerated (statistically anomalous) stock price movements (contrary to EMH which assumes such behaviors 'cancel out'). Psychological research has demonstrated that people are predisposed to 'seeing' patterns, and often will perceive a pattern in what is, in fact, just noise, e.g. seeing familiar shapes in clouds or ink blots. In the present context this means that a succession of good news items about a company may lead investors to overreact positively, driving the price up. A period of good returns also boosts the investors' self-confidence, reducing their (psychological) risk threshold.[60]
The critical point where bubbles end happens as investors begin to think that the rally is over. It is when this opinion travels deep into the system and becomes generalized that the system ends up in a crash. The paradox here is that a crash is often (and mistakenly) characterized as “market chaos.” In fact, it is the opposite: a crash reflects a highly ordered market, when everyone does the same thing (i.e. sell). A truly “chaotic” market is one where everyone is doing something different, interactions offset each other and price volatility remains low.
A truly stunning result of these investigations is that the real-life frequency and size of market returns bear a notable resemblance to what is obtained by running very simple computer models. This also goes for earthquakes, solar flares, forest fires, and river floods: most of the simulations yield similar results to real life where events are frequent but small, but occasionally some gigantic one appears from nowhere.
It’s all about Uranus in Taurus moving across 0, 1, 2 and 3 degrees and starting in a small but powerful way on 15th May 2018. Your angles at 3 Taurus and 3 Scorpio depend on an accurate birth time, but even if you are not 100% sure, there is still a major line-up in your chart at these very early degrees of the signs, so the revolution will have a direct impact on you in 2018 and 2019. The Moon at 0 Capricorn in your Tenth House of career is a factor. Mercury at 0 Scorpio in your Eighth House of property, stocks, business is a major factor! Venus at 2 Scorpio, also in your Eighth House, is about the financial and personal relationship you have with your wife. Uranus at 0 Libra is much the same thing. Chiron at 0 Aries is about your own title, image and profile. You even have Vesta at 2 Taurus. More than most people, you are going to find your attitude towards money, property, business, possessions and ‘what is valuable’ becomes completely transformed, now through 2019. You may prefer to wait until May and June have passed, if you are in no particular hurry to buy. You have an Aries Sun wife here who also has Uranus, the planet of shock, sudden change and turnaround about to enter her Second House of finance, for the first time in her life. I’m sure you are across cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Keep updating yourself on what is going on, because it will change day to day. To give you an idea of just how much of a revolution Uranus can bring about, you need to recall what life was like before 2011. That was the year he entered Aries, the sign we associate with self-promotion, our profile, our image, portrait, personal appearance, brand and identity. Our name and face, and our reputation. If you think about how astonishing the rise and rise of social media like Facebook and Twitter has been (social me-me-me-media) then you can see why Uranus in Taurus is going to utterly change the way we bank, spend, save and trade. The technology which has come with the iPhone (the Selfie) and the Selfie Stick – and Instagram filters – has given everyone a chance to push himself/herself and his face/her face and wherever Uranus goes, through a zodiac sign, people get excited. When they get excited, they tend to reach in their pocket. So, you can see why with Uranus at 0 Taurus opposing your natal Mercury at 0 Scorpio, you may prefer to adopt a wait-and-see policy across May and June, just to get an inkling of what is about to sweep the world, over the next six or seven years. As Mercury is so close to Venus in your chart, and Uranus in Libra (marriage) too – I have to say, 2018 and 2019 is all about your wife and her company sale, and those proceeds. In fact, never mind the actual currency and business trends you are about to see rock America – you need to focus on the personal relationship with her, because there is a fundamental shift going on this year and next year too. This brings us back to the idea of putting a price tag on the things that money cannot buy. The emotional, spiritual, intensely personal aspects of what you two share. You have some crossroads decisions ahead.
Hedge funds are an alternative for investors with large enough portfolios. Hedge funds use a combination of long and short positions, and other strategies to generate returns regardless of the direction of the overall market. However, when considering hedge funds, you should tread with caution and do your own research. Some hedge funds have performed very well, especially during bear markets – but many others have performed very poorly. Just because a hedge fund is called a hedge fund it does not mean it will perform well during a crash.

Is funny, the tropical depression is well away from us but we are getting an extremely wet weather system over the state, they call it an anti-cyclone, whatever that is, all i know is i could use some sunshine, been raining for weeks, only one or two days here and there that didnt rain. Too damn wet, crops rotting in the field, at least the market crops, oh well, such is life as a farmer!
October as a whole is really important. On Wednesday 24th October 2018 Juno enters Taurus. She is Jupiter’s wife and most astrologers ignore her but she is a symbol of commitment and opportunity. The same day, we find a Full Moon with the Sun at 1 Scorpio opposite the Moon at 1 Taurus. On Friday 26th October, Venus (the ruler of Taurus) is conjunct the Sun at 3 Scorpio. Mercury is hovering around 24 Scorpio which fits that Tokyo/New York/London/Ireland pattern.
Editor’s Note: The following article has been contributed by Daisy Luther at The Organic Prepper web site. As always, Daisy has put together an excellent primer detailing the conditions we currently face, potential outcomes, and strategies you can implement to prepare for an inevitable crash in not just stocks markets, but the way of life we have come to know in America.
Wall Street Journal Calls Buy-and-Hold a “Myth,” Endorses Valuation-Informed IndexingLot of smart people know that Buy-and-Hold is a big pile of smelly garbage. They are afraid to speak out today because they know what will happen to them if they do. But they try to position themselves for the post-next-crash period, when “Buy-and-Hold” will be an obscene phrase. Bret Arends tells us that the Wall Street Con Men “are leaving out half the story.” Precisely so. The purpose of this web site is to let you in on the half of the story that the Wall Street Con Men have been keeping from you for 32 years now.
I have no illusions about the Islamic world. 9/11 was only the start. Anybody who has read the Koran knows that it is a book of violence teaching violence against infidels. The Koran appeals to believers to conquer foreign lands and subjugate the natives. The last time the West has successfully forced out Islam was in 1683 at the Gates of Vienna. As a result, European civilisation could flourish and develop freedom and democracy. This time Europe will take a much more sinister turn, and a dark and bloody age will follow. As Europeans we have stopped believing in our own values. We are certainly not willing to defend them in this postmodern age of cultural relativism. We have become complacent and take our freedoms for granted to the extent that we cannot imagine any other circumstances. In future, Europeans, including the UK, will be truly tested. They will have to decide which values they believe in and what they are prepared to defend.
I’ve posted Entry #418 to my weekly Valuation-Informed Indexing column at the Value Walk site. It’s called The Shiller Revolution Is About Shifting the Focus from Economics to Emotions. Juicy Excerpt: The Shiller investor would have been frightened by those gains. He would not have seen them as something to celebrate; he would likely have characterized them as “out of control.” All investors want the market to be as rational as possible; we have our retirement money invested in it. The difference, though, is that Buy-and-Holders see nothing concerning about big price gains — they are caused by economic developments as much as are small gains. Valuation-Informed Indexers, in contrast, see bull-market gains as emotion-generated gains. Times of high valuations are times of irrational exuberance. The times in which the market delivers big gains are the most dangerous times for stock investors. Set forth below is the text of a comment that I recently posted to the discussion thread for another blog entry at this site: “I hope that helps a bit. I have heard of the Coffeehouse Portfolio. I don’t know what the Cowards Portfolio is. I obviously get it that a three-fund portfolio would include three funds but I couldn’t tell you what those three funds would be. These questions don’t interest me too much.” So you don’t really know what is in all those portfolios as well as their strategy, yet you say that they will all lose 50% of their value and that VII is superior. I don’t say that. It’s the last 37 years of peer-reviewed research in this field that says that. I REPORT it. I am a reporter. That’s the kind of thing we do. We don’t just push smiley-face marketing slogans. We REPORT realities. What if these funds went by the name of “The Irrational Exuberance Portfolio”? Do you think that would sell? Why do you think they don’t do it that way? It’s because they want to turn a quick buck. Valuation-Informed Indexing is what works. Buy-and-Hold is what sells. It can’t all be about marketing. When millions of middle-class people see their lifetime savings wiped out, they are going to get angry. When they learn that there were people trying to tell them what the last 37 years of peer-reviewed research teaches us about how stock investing works in the real world, their anger is going to intensify. The Buy-and-Hold marketing slogans will be spoken as obscenities in those days. Not a good thing. There’s plenty of money to be made in this field telling the truth. You could have all these funds and still tell people the truth about the need to practice price discipline (long-term timing) when buying stocks and the funds would actually work and people would like them. The problem stems from the fact that we didn’t always know everything there is to know about how stock investing works, and when Shiller published his Nobel-prize-winning research, the Buy-and-Holders elected to ignore it rather than to work up the courage to say the words “I’ and “Was” and “Wrong.” Now we are in a trap. It is now 500 times harder for Bogle and the other Buy-and-Holders to say those words than it would have been to say them […]
I’m glad I saw the fingerprint for you – for a moment I thought it was because so much of Sherlock Holmes was written in this London house! Uranus at 3 Taurus, opposite Uranus at 3 Scorpio, seems likely to bring in your profession in identity and security systems. I am sure you are completely on top of changes in your field, but make it your business to be across everything, with more concentration and awareness than usual. This also applies very much to 2019 as Uranus will take a couple of years to cross 0, 1, 2, 3 Taurus. This is most certainly about your work, because you were born with Juno (commitments) at 3 Virgo in your Sixth House, which rules your job. Putting all that together, you need to go deeply into the new realities of online identity and security from the middle of May, which will be a tremendous shock for millions of us, right around the world. The story develops across 2019, and possibly into 2020, and I do think you’ll have to reshape your career as a result of it. Don’t be worried. Do be interested and informed. We will see Jupiter (expansion, growth, opportunity) slowly make trines to your Taurus and Virgo placements once he changes signs at the end of 2019, and I think 2020 could be your year professionally, but it would be as a result of what you learn – and what you do – in response to the whole new world of internet banking, and global taxation. Time to start reading those financial and business newspapers as never before. And tech. Watch Fakebook.
I predict that the United Kingdom – Britain, will become a federalist state by the 2020’s. With a federal government and monarchy. Likewise, I believe that the British government will be instrumental in establishing a new EU – European Federation of Nations, with a potential return to an EU appointed Assembly similar to that of the United Nations General Assembly, instead of the current European Parliament, with the Commission becoming the civil service for the EU, and the Council of Ministers and national governments being more involved and effective. The so called Islamic State caliphate will largely fail – but will eventually became a region of Earth, the Islamic Union of nations caliphate, I therefore predict that you will see negotiations between all Islamic countries, leading up to the creation of an Islamic Union – caliphate.
I will give a detailed description of my theories in this web site. Also discussed here: economic predictions and the Stock Market, predictions of world events for this year and future years. And the election of President Barack Obama brings Hope to the world in a time of great economic crisis. I think the election of President Obama is part of a trend discussed on this page, where Hope for the world comes from the Southern Hemisphere. Note that Kenya is on the equator, where the Southern Hemisphere begins. This is related to the 1987 Southern Hemisphere Supernova, which resulted in a wave of positive change in the Southern Hemisphere, with Democracy coming to South America and positive change in South Africa.
Writing with Brunello Rosa, Nouriel sets the scene this way: “The current global expansion will likely continue into next year, given that the US is running large fiscal deficits, China is pursuing loose fiscal and credit policies, and Europe remains on a recovery path. But by 2020, the conditions will be ripe for a financial crisis, followed by a global recession.”
I recently wrote a Guest Blog Entry for the Moolanomy blog entitled The Difference Between the Multiply-by-25 Rule and the 4-Percent Rule. Juicy Excerpt:  I believe strongly that the 4-Percent Rule at some times overstates and at other times understates the amount needed for a safe retirement; at times of high valuations the true safe withdrawal can drop to as low as 2 percent and at times of low valuations it can rise to as high as 9 percent. The Multiply-by-25 Rule isn’t by itself…
The rising share prices encouraged more people to invest, hoping the share prices would rise further. Speculation thus fueled further rises and created an economic bubble. Because of margin buying, investors stood to lose large sums of money if the market turned down—or even failed to advance quickly enough. The average P/E (price to earnings) ratio of S&P Composite stocks was 32.6 in September 1929,[22] clearly above historical norms.[23] According to economist John Kenneth Galbraith, this exuberance also resulted in a large number of people placing their savings and money in leverage investment products like Goldman Sachs' "Blue Ridge trust" and "Shenandoah trust". These too crashed in 1929, resulting in losses to banks of $475 billion 2010 dollars ($533.06 billion in 2017).[24]
The stock market crash of 1929 had transiting Pluto conjuncting Uranus in the 7th and making an opposition to the first house; it’s similar to the upcoming transits we’ve only begun to taste. I could go on and on about the similarities between now and then, there are many, but really the main point is to protect yourself. We, the tax payers, are already going to bail out wall street, but you can bet, you the individual share holder won’t be as fortunate. Take care of yourself and get out when you feel the timing is right — just do it before mid-December of this year to be safe.

Regarding Trump, he will become ‘ill’, through stress. It seems to more of A mental health issue. I don’t think it will happen until the end of next year. He will become increasingly agoraphobic withdrawing to the Trump residences. I always saw Obama as the last properly elected President Of the United States. Increasingly and necessarily States will become self-governing as well as small independent communities.
The other manifestation of Pluto going over the first house is the exposure of corruption, scandals, abuse of power and scams that could hamper investment in the market out of fear. We’ve started seeing this with the most recent news of the ex-head of NASDAQ taking rich investors for an estimated 50 billion dollars. Pluto will uncover more of this sort of thing, it may or may not lead to another crash, but it will definitely transform the way the markets are ultimately allowed to do business.
Some quatrains refer to the Arab Anti-Christ who will first gain control of Iran and other parts of the Middle East. In the book, he is described as a very good looking and charismatic leader who will use deception to fool the West. His intention is to conquer and islamicise Europe and he will have many successes. First, he will destroy Europe’s cultural centers in Greece and Rome. The West will be so paralyzed by these attacks that it will not respond until it’s too late.
In April 2011, longstanding opposition to a Tesco Express shop in Cheltenham Road, Stokes Croft, Bristol, evolved into a violent clash between opponents and police. The recently opened shopfront was heavily damaged, and police reported the seizure of petrol bombs.[150] Opponents have suggested that the shop would damage small shops and harm the character of the area.[151]
This does not mean that successful investing is impossible; only that the more we learn about market behavior, the more it seems that trying to deal with uncertainty is more important than pretending that we can have any certainty. More precisely, managing risk seems to be a better approach to investing than concocting forecasts on asset returns. This could mean, for example, finding ways of identifying when market participants start to align on one side of a trade by measuring correlations, or measuring returns to flash a warning when they start growing at “super-exponential” rates.
What about the everyday investors who don’t have access to Sornette’s computational skills? The lesson is straightforward: as markets rise, and especially as they rise sharply, so does the danger of a crash. As they watch a sharp rise, investors should reduce their equity positions to capture gains made so far and limit the danger to their portfolios.
By the way, our own Dr Doom, Professor Steve Keen, was also hailed as a good predictor of the GFC. Then at the University of Western Sydney, Keen received more than twice as many votes as his nearest rival and was judged the economist who first and most cogently warned the world of the coming Global Financial Collapse. He (and 2nd and 3rd place finishers, Nouriel Roubini (New York University) and Dean Baker (Centre for Economic and Policy Research), won the inaugural Revere Award for Economics, named in honour of Paul Revere and his famous ride through the night to warn Americans of the approaching British army.
Bernanke said in March 2007 that the sub-prime mortgage mess could be “contained.” And Greenspan famously inveighed against the stock market’s “irrational exuberance” in 1996. If you listened to him then and exited stocks, you would rue your decision: The market had a fabulous run for the next four years. Rogers is a perma-bear about domestic stocks, who has been downbeat since the 1980s (he is famously enthusiastic about emerging markets, though).
