I agree completely with a previous poster, America has had enough of the Bush family. I don’t see any Republican winning after they have boxed themselves into the corner they are in. No way we would elect the hanging chad Governor who helped steal an election. Also, we have had enough Clinton’s, tho I am inclined to believe Hillary will win because it is time enough for a woman to be President.
I have a hard time believing that she could only win by rigging the election. I think you are blinded by partisanship or your own personal political preferences. There are many people who don’t want Trump because he is very much a loose cannon or because of allegations related to his past business dealings. I think the Republicans are in a much stronger position to rig the elections because most governors and many state legislatures are GOP-controlled. To me, Trump looks desperate. I don’t recall any past major party candidate talking that much about someone rigging the election.

On September 16, 2008, failures of massive financial institutions in the United States, due primarily to exposure to packaged subprime loans and credit default swaps issued to insure these loans and their issuers, rapidly devolved into a global crisis. This resulted in a number of bank failures in Europe and sharp reductions in the value of stocks and commodities worldwide. The failure of banks in Iceland resulted in a devaluation of the Icelandic króna and threatened the government with bankruptcy. Iceland obtained an emergency loan from the International Monetary Fund in November.[31] In the United States, 15 banks failed in 2008, while several others were rescued through government intervention or acquisitions by other banks.[32] On October 11, 2008, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) warned that the world financial system was teetering on the "brink of systemic meltdown".[33]
But it's during those times when you need to guard against overriding the rational process you went through to build your portfolio. If you want to re-evaluate the portfolio mix you arrived at earlier just to confirm that it's right for you and even possibly make a small tweak or two, fine. But you don't want to let fear and emotions dictate your investing strategy and lead you to make impulsive decisions you may rue later.
The Warren Buffett Indicator is less mysterious than it sounds. It might as well be called the common-sense indicator. It’s simply the relationship between gross domestic product (GDP)—or the sum total of a country’s economic activity—and the value of stocks in the S&P 500. So, in simpler terms, the Warren Buffett Indicator in terms of Wall Street measures market capitalization versus U.S. GDP. You can cushion the effects of a crash by allocating to defensive and blue-chip stocks, bonds, gold and cash. Having some cash in your portfolio also allows you to buy back into the market at lower levels. The current stock market is fairly expensive, but there are no signs of an imminent crash. However, that doesn’t mean market conditions can’t change quickly. That’s why you should always be ready for the next crash.
I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Out Of Your Rut blog. It's called Cash Is a Strategic Asset Class. Juicy Excerpt: Nobody makes much money promoting TIPS or other cash-like investment classes. The “experts” in the investing advice field HATE cash. No commissions. No acceptance into the “Experts” Club. No appeal to the Get Rich Quick impulse lurking within each and every one of us that tempts us into ignoring price when choosing our investment classes. Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen as a group of market stalls.[9] The Tesco name first appeared in 1924, after Cohen purchased a shipment of tea from T. E. Stockwell and combined those initials with the first two letters of his surname,[10] and the first Tesco shop opened in 1931 in Burnt Oak, Barnet.[11][12][13] His business expanded rapidly, and by 1939 he had over 100 Tesco shops across the country.[14]
Jump up ^ The concept of the bourse (or the exchange) was 'invented' in the medieval Low Countries (most notably in predominantly Dutch-speaking cities like Bruges and Antwerp) before the birth of formal stock exchanges in the 17th century. Until the early 1600s, a bourse was not exactly a stock exchange in its modern sense. With the founding of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in 1602 and the rise of Dutch capital markets in the early 17th century, the 'old' bourse (a place to trade commodities, government and municipal bonds) found a new purpose – a formal exchange that specialize in creating and sustaining secondary markets in the securities (such as bonds and shares of stock) issued by corporations – or a stock exchange as we know it today.[5][6]

"This is a most fascinating book about an intriguing but also a controversial topic. It is written by an expert in a very straightforward style and is illustrated by many clear figures. Why Stock Markets Crash will surely raise scientific interest in the emerging new field of econophysics."―Cars H. Hommes, Director of the Center for Nonlinear Dynamics in Economics and Finance, University of Amsterdam

According to Citigroup retail analyst David McCarthy, "[Tesco has] pulled off a trick that I'm not aware of any other retailer achieving. That is to appeal to all segments of the market".[99] One plank of this strategy has been Tesco's use of its own-brand products, including the upmarket "Finest", mid-range Tesco brand and low-price "Value" encompassing several product categories such as food, beverage, home, clothing, Tesco Mobile and financial services.[100]

“The shift from active to passive asset management, and specifically the decline of active value investors, reduces the ability of the market to prevent and recover from large drawdowns,” Joyce Chang and Jan Loeys wrote in the Monday note. Actively managed accounts make up only about one-third of equity assets under management, with active single-name trading responsible for just 10 per cent or so of trading volume, JPMorgan estimates.
The Anti-Christ will destroy Rome so thoroughly that the seven hills of Rome will be flattened. Interestingly, other psychics , such as Julie McKenzie have recently said that the seven hills of Rome would be levelled. Nostradamus goes on to say that [the Anti-Christ] “will do such a good job that Rome will be threatened by the encroachment of the sea, destroying what is left (page 212, 1989)”. In his quatrain V-86 Nostradamus talks directly about ” Le cite grande par eaux sera vexee” (the great city will be troubled by water, page 213, 1989).

Commodities are crashing the fastest; so they’re likely to turn around early. They’re driven more by emerging countries, which are big commodity producers, versus developed countries. I like industrial and precious metals, including gold, silver and platinum, because they’re scarce. They’ll outperform. You can’t just farm them like you can cows and pigs and corn and wheat, [for which] you can always expand into more land. But there’s only so much gold, platinum and other metals. I’m big on gold after it crashes.
Still, people don’t read their horoscopes looking for accurate forecasts of their futures. They want something to feel hopeful about. I suspect Weingarten draws a semi-respectable crowd to his events for a similar reason. Listening to an unrepentant financial astrologer may be reassuring to people who feel that their expertise has been rendered obsolete by index funds and trading algorithms. Weingarten’s found an edge! And it may just have the weight of the cosmos behind it.
The key there is the huge gap between rich and poor you mention. This is a global problem. Capricorn is about the mountain goat who climbs to the top. It’s a symbol for the wealthiest 1% who have made it to the top of capitalism. People who make it, in a system, often tend to be strongly Capricorn. The Trump administration has a high number of Sun Capricorn men at the top. As Saturn, Pluto – and then Ceres and Jupiter – go through Capricorn to 2020, that is the end of the old, and the birth of the new. At the same time, the revolution of Uranus in Taurus (money) is here. If I can find a reliable chart for Hong Kong I’ll dig it up for you. But it sounds to me as if you’re on the money.

Take your money out of the bank ASAP.  If you still keep your money in the bank, go there and remove as much as you can while leaving in enough to pay your bills. Although it wasn’t a market collapse in Greece recently, the banks did close and limit ATM withdrawals.  People went for quite some time without being able to access their money, but were able to have a sense of normalcy by transferring money online to pay bills or using their debit cards to make purchases.  Get your cash out. You don’t want to be at the mercy of the banks.

In May 2008, when crude oil had broken through $100 a barrel, Merriman astrologically predicted—on the record—that it would top out at $144 (give or take $8) before plummeting within two years. Then he said it would decline, somewhere between 77 percent and 93 percent.) Goldman Sachs Group Inc., by contrast, thought crude could hit $200 a barrel, and traditional energy economists at Deutsche Bank AG were stupefied by the confusing market dynamics. Sure enough, crude hit $147.27 on July 11, 2008 and slid to $32.48 five months later.
The stock market boomed because, since the Great Financial Crisis of 2008, the Federal Reserve Bank (“Fed”) has kept interest rates close to 0%  (the infamous ZIRP or Zero Interest Rate Policy). So, from December 2008 to December 2015 – for 7 years – corporations were borrowing trillions of dollars and buying back their own shares! Hence the stock market boom.

A truly stunning result of these investigations is that the real-life frequency and size of market returns bear a notable resemblance to what is obtained by running very simple computer models. This also goes for earthquakes, solar flares, forest fires, and river floods: most of the simulations yield similar results to real life where events are frequent but small, but occasionally some gigantic one appears from nowhere.
Sometimes the best way to learn about investing is to learn from people who’ve done it successfully. Thanks to our culture of over-sharing on the internet, several successful investors have taken their secrets online to teach others how to invest for themselves. Some of these blogs include InvestorJunkie.com, FinancialMentor.com, TheCollegeInvestor.com and IWillTeachYouToBeRich.com. Some of these bloggers are advisors and well-known financial experts, others are former hedge fund managers, and even still others are just average joes with a penchant for investing.
Can I guarantee this approach will lead to the best results over the long-term? Of course not. But at least you'll be following a disciplined rational strategy rather than engaging in a never-ending guessing game of trying to decide when to get out of the market (and where to put your money once you do) and then trying to figure out when to get back in. That's a game you can't consistently win.
I just wonder if the revolutions in countries in the Middle East could bring them closer to Russia and Putin the Antichrist. Perhaps this will lead to the Middle East War described in Ezekiel and also Revelation 16 as Armageddon, that it could be an alliance of Middle East and North Africa countries that will form a military alliance with Russia led by the Antichrist Putin. What Middle Eastern countries will next see revolution? Where will these revolutions lead? It could work out well, with peaceful democracies in these countries. On the other hand, the French Revolution resulted in a bloodbath in France, and a monstrous dictator Napoleon who resulted in war across Europe. And the Russian Revolution resulted in the Soviet Union, and millions murdered by Stalin. So revolutions can work out well like the American Revolution did, but sometimes they don't. War in the Middle East could result from these changes, the Second Horseman of the Apocalypse War riding in 2018-2019. And if political unrest comes to Pakistan, with all its nuclear weapons, that could be a major concern. Also watch out for: North Korea attacking South Korea, or war in the Middle East.

This chart was done for today 2-5-2018 on the big drop but the planets are close enough and it should clarify what the heck is going on. Transiting Mercury is right on the ascendant with the South Node/Sun/Venus all together going through the first house and conjuncting the natal Saturn/Pluto that are there. Venus indeed hit that natal Saturn today. OK that’s a clear market correction. Uranus is in the 3rd inconjuncting the Sun in the 7th – 3rd-newspapers/media/communication and the 7th legal issues, partnerships and in Virgo work/service. It seems this is very much about the political stuff going on. The Moon triggered the natal Neptune and opposes the transiting Uranus in the 3rd. People are nervous – freaked out, afraid. Now we have this applying Uranus making a square to the natal Uranus and this aspect is creating the division we see in our country and the inside revolution taking place inside our government. Those we thought would serve us are serving their own agenda – at war with the press – leaking, push back. The ruler of the 8th house is Mercury in this chart and indeed there is seems to be a consistent Mercury trigger when the Stock Market falls. Here we see Mercury triggering the whole thing as it hits the first house. But Mercury is a fast moving planet but the funky underlying aspects are still there. Transiting Pluto in Capricorn in the 12th – house of hidden enemies is making that applying T-Square from the other side (as it did in 1929) and Uranus is making an applying square to natal Uranus. This was what I was looking at when I identified 2019 as the time frame. I think this is a precursor to the much bigger market meltdown we’ll see as these aspects get closer. These bad aspects will be triggered throughout the next couple of years. So I will have to dig in more to find the next time frame for the next freak out.

The blogger who owns the Bad Money Advice site has put forward a post offering reasoned skepticism re the Valuation-Informed Indexing strategy. The title of the post is The Truth About the Shiller PE. Good stuff, Frank! Juicy Excerpt #1: "I do not know that Prof. Shiller has ever gone so far as to advocate that people use cyclically adjusted PE (CAPE) to make investment decisions." Juicy Excerpt #2: "Shiller does his best to warn people off relying on CAPE, saying that it 'has to be…

According to much national or state legislation, a large array of fiscal obligations are taxed for capital gains. Taxes are charged by the state over the transactions, dividends and capital gains on the stock market, in particular in the stock exchanges. These fiscal obligations vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Some countries[which?] avoid taxing profits on stocks as the profits are already taxed when companies file returns, but double taxation is common at some level in many countries.
50 years later from June 10 1967 is June 10 2017. Will this be starting in 2017 the End Times period, which according to this prophecy will see the coming of the Messiah? And the Christian interpretation is that this will be the returned Christ, who will defeat the Antichrist at the Battle of Armageddon, which I think is World War 3 started by Putin.
Interesting how you get psychic predictions through your art. Before realising I was a medium I was a semi-professional artist and had exhibitions in Harrords, London and some of the municipal galleries. Like you, I used to find that the things I painted often contained references to things that would happen to me in the future. They were symbols for things that would take place that came from my unconscious rather than me deliberately making predictions about world events and so on.

A potential buyer bids a specific price for a stock, and a potential seller asks a specific price for the same stock. Buying or selling at the market means you will accept any ask price or bid price for the stock. When the bid and ask prices match, a sale takes place, on a first-come, first-served basis if there are multiple bidders at a given price.
Note that TB is spread by poor sanitation and hygiene, that we can relate to the"unclean" in the passage above; and Babylon was in Iraq. And galaxy M82 is in the Great Bear constellation Ursa Major, that we can relate to Revelation 13 where the Antichrist has the mouth of a lion, feet of a bear. And the bear is the symbol of Russia, where the Antichrist Putin is in power. Also, concerning the TB bacteria discovery in 1882, see this page on how a cycle of events began in 1883.
So take this time to go over your holdings and tally up how much you have in stocks and how much in bonds. If you're not sure of the asset make-up in some of your investments — which may be the case if you own funds that invest in a combination of stocks and bonds — plug the names or ticker symbols of your funds into Morningstar's Instant X-Ray tool, and you'll see how your portfolio overall is divvied up between stocks, bonds and cash.
Thank you Jessica. This on-going legal dispute is sadly due to the other party refusing any form of negotiation and settlement, hence 12 legal cases on, we are going around in circles. Nobody knows what he wants. By the way, he was born 21 April 1965, in Tizi Ouzou, Algeria. I feel we have wasted 5 years of our working lives, as he has tied us in knots financially and we cannot do anything else but to keep fighting and save what we have worked so hard for. He seems mentally unstable and intent on destroying everything we have created for his own material gain. Uranus will be passing his Taurus sun soon. How could that be interpreted? Thank you once again

The trouble began a week ago in the West, where in the early evening a single grain of sand fell on a portion of our pile that was already very steep. This triggered a small avalanche, as a few grains toppled downhill toward the East. Unfortunately, the pile hasn’t been managed properly in the West, and these few grains entered into another region of the pile that was also already steep. Soon more grains toppled and throughout the night the avalanche grew in size; by the next morning, it was well out of control. In retrospect, there is nothing surprising. One fateful grain falling a week ago led to a chain of events that swept catastrophe across the pile and into our own backyard here in the East. Had the Western authorities been more responsible, they could have removed some sand from the initial spot, and then none of this would have happened. It is a tragedy that we can only hope will never be repeated."
Experienced investors who are “sophisticated enough to focus on these numbers and act on them themselves” can benefit by making their own adjustments, Mr. Davis said. Tried-and true investments like balanced funds and target date funds (which become more conservative as a given date nears) can make basic adjustments for you. Advisers can do this as well.

We have entered a time when global events appear to be accelerating significantly.  Earlier today, bombs were mailed to major political leaders all over the United States.  In the Middle East, it looks like Israel and Hamas could go to war at any moment.  And we continue to see a rise in major seismic events – including three very large earthquakes that just hit the Cascadia Subduction Zone.

Set forth below is the text of a comment that I recently posted to the discussion thread for another blog entry at this site: The comment was present tense. You immediately shifted to past tense. The question was why are you doing nothing NOW? Your answer: “I have never done one smidgen less than all that I can do.” So right now, nothing is absolutely all you can do. You’re as helpless as a newborn babe in the snow. You may not have noticed, but newborn babes in the snow generally aren’t rich and famous. And they have the excuse of being newborn. What’s your excuse for your helplessness? We live in communities. The community in which I live has not offered the amount of help that I need to bring down Buy-and-Hold and replace it with Valuation-Informed Indexing. That’s my explanation for why I am not rich and famous today, for why I am instead a newborn babe in the snow. Say that you were one of the women who was attacked by Bill Cosby. And say that you tried to do something about it when it happened. And that no one cared. He just kept committing his crimes because no one cared enough to take effective action. The world would be telling you that you were helpless, right? That’s the message that the world has been sending me for 16 years. Now — If the world sends you a message that you are helpless, should you give up on your efforts to do good? In some circumstances, you should. If a woman who was attacked by Bill Cosby in 1965 made efforts to seek justice and received no help, I certainly wouldn’t have blamed her if she stopped making those efforts. And I wouldn’t blame someone who has made efforts to tell the world how stock investing really works if they ran into the sort of resistance that I have run into. We are all given only so many years of life and we have to make judgments as to how to employ those years of life energy. There’s a case for me saying after 16 years:”Oh, I gave this a good shot and it hasn’t yet paid off, I think I will direct my energies elsewhere.” But there is also a good case — I think a much better case — for me soldiering on. Bill Cosby […]

As you can see, there is more to preparing for a market crash than making a stock market crash prediction. “Experts” predict crashes all the time, and most of the time they get it wrong. If you listen to all these crash predictions, you will end up losing out on the upside. And yet, you should never be in a position where a crash will wipe out your portfolio or brokerage account. To prepare for a crash, you should make sure your portfolio is diversified, and that you don’t have too much of it allocated to high beta and growth stocks.
September 2017. The Cassini Saturn space probe crashed into Saturn/Satan. Cassini's connection to Putin: Putin first rose to power on August 9 1999. Also then, the day of the Astrology Grand Cross in the sky: August 18 1999, was the day after Cassini, carrying Plutonium, passed close to earth. And 1999 has 666 upside-down, 666 being the number of the Antichrist in Revelation 13. This August 1999 Grand Cross, which is one of the most amazing astrological alignments ever seen in history, consisted of: the Sun, Venus, and Mercury in the sign of Leo, Mars and the Moon in Scorpio with Pluto close by in Sagittarius, Saturn and Jupiter in Taurus, and Neptune and Uranus in Aquarius. If Scorpio is considered to be the Eagle, and Aquarius the man, then we have the four beasts seen in Revelation 4 that sit at the throne in heaven, that have the faces of an eagle, a man, a lion, and a calf. This seems to indicate an important time for mankind; I think it may also relate to the rise to power of the Antichrist in year 2000 as Russian President Putin, especially since there was a cross pattern. Also, note that August 13, 1999 was Friday the 13th, said to be an unlucky day. Also note that August 9, 1999, was the 30th anniversary of the Charles Manson group's murder of Sharon Tate and others in Los Angeles, significant because of the Charles Manson group's Satanic-like cult.
Fifth, growth in the rest of the world will likely slow down – more so as other countries will see fit to retaliate against US protectionism. China must slow its growth to deal with overcapacity and excessive leverage; otherwise a hard landing will be triggered. And already-fragile emerging markets will continue to feel the pinch from protectionism and tightening monetary conditions in the US.
