Craig, first of all, I want to thank you for your interesting book: “Messages from the Universe” I have read the first half of it and I find it interesting. Through that book I found your website and I have linked to this website. You have predicted the discovery of a new energy source in 2018. Maybe it is this: Andrea Rossi November 13, 2017 at 10:55 AM Gian Luca and All Readers: The streaming of the demonstration of the E-Cat QX will start around noon (12 P.M.) of November 24th, Miami time.

According to Citigroup retail analyst David McCarthy, "[Tesco has] pulled off a trick that I'm not aware of any other retailer achieving. That is to appeal to all segments of the market".[99] One plank of this strategy has been Tesco's use of its own-brand products, including the upmarket "Finest", mid-range Tesco brand and low-price "Value" encompassing several product categories such as food, beverage, home, clothing, Tesco Mobile and financial services.[100]
His reasoning: Stockman expects "an epic monetary and fiscal (policy) collision," he told CNBC. On the one hand, the recent tax cuts enacted by Congress are likely to help push the federal budget deficit to nearly $1 trillion next year. At the exact same time, the Federal Reserve is starting to unwind its sizable bond portfolio— which it amassed in the aftermath of the financial crisis to keep bond yields low to juice economy activity.
The markets peaked on August 25, 1987 with the Dow hitting a record 2722.44.  Then the Dow started to head down and by September 22nd the Dow was down 8.4%.  Then the markets rebounded and on October 2nd the Dow was up 5.9% from September 21st.  Over the next 7 days the Dow would drop 13.5% from its high on August 25th.  On October 19th, 1987 the market crashed.  The Dow dropped 508 points or 22.6% for the day.  This was a drop of 36.7% from the record high of 2722.44 on August 25, 1987.  The stock market has lost 1/2 trillion dollars of wealth.
» (source)
I predict action with Iran and North Korea will make news. Looks like peace-deal being worked on in Iran but the US will be at war with Iran this year in a way similar to Gulf War. Iran will be destroyed militarily by US and UK. North Korea uses the situation as chance to pull something but they find out US can fight 3 major wars at the same time if needed. Korea will soon be united as the North falls after a war in next 36 months. Cuba tends to try to avoid openness again a short time then all clears and US business-people will be going there to start building projects as Cuba becomes tourism centre of Tropics. I also predict that Russia invades another nation late summer then has to pull out. (Abridged by editor as post far too long)
As I have said on another comment, I tend to make my predictions in blocks when I can sit and deeply meditate for a day. So rather than react and change opinions I am trying to simply give what I get with a long lead in about things that are not currently in the news. For me these predictions are simply an experiment. I’ll probably post some new predictions in another 6 months time.

But let's assume that you're not in the stock market and don't plan to be. The last chapter broadens the discussion to consider a wide range of problems confronting the world in the period from the year of publication (2002) to the potential "end of the growth era" around 2050. Many of the trends described have only become more pressing since 2002. This book is both important and fascinating--not just for investors but also for citizens of an uncertain world.
Rates of participation and the value of holdings differs significantly across strata of income. In the bottom quintile of income, 5.5% of households directly own stock and 10.7% hold stocks indirectly in the form of retirement accounts.[14] The top decile of income has a direct participation rate of 47.5% and an indirect participation rate in the form of retirement accounts of 89.6%.[14] The median value of directly owned stock in the bottom quintile of income is $4,000 and is $78,600 in the top decile of income as of 2007.[16] The median value of indirectly held stock in the form of retirement accounts for the same two groups in the same year is $6,300 and $214,800 respectively.[16] Since the Great Recession of 2008 households in the bottom half of the income distribution have lessened their participation rate both directly and indirectly from 53.2% in 2007 to 48.8% in 2013, while over the same time period households in the top decile of the income distribution slightly increased participation 91.7% to 92.1%.[17] The mean value of direct and indirect holdings at the bottom half of the income distribution moved slightly downward from $53,800 in 2007 to $53,600 in 2013.[17] In the top decile, mean value of all holdings fell from $982,000 to $969,300 in the same time.[17] The mean value of all stock holdings across the entire income distribution is valued at $269,900 as of 2013.[17]

I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Free From Broke blog. It's called A Better and Less Risky Way to Invest in Stocks. Juicy Excerpt: Let’s return for a moment to our discussion of cars and cameras and computers and comic books.  If you were in the car business and you had somehow persuaded millions of your customers that cars were worth buying at any price imaginable, would you want the word to get out that this was nonsense? You wouldn’t.  You would want to keep the realities…
The swoon set tongues to wagging, about its cause and likely effect. There can be no knowing about the former. Markets may have worried that rising wages would crimp profits or trigger a faster pace of growth-squelching interest-rate increases, but a butterfly flapping its wings in Indonesia might just as well be to blame. There is little more certainty regarding the latter. Commentators have been quick to pull out the cliches: that “the stock market is not the economy”, and that “stocks have predicted nine out of the past five recessions”. These points have merit. A big move in stock prices can signify some change in economic fundamentals, but it can just as easily signify nothing at all. For those not invested in the market, or whose investments consist mostly of retirement savings plunked into index funds, Monday’s crash matters about as much as Sunday’s Super Bowl result.
Even odder than the existence of the Astrologers Fund is its ability to attract the interest of nonlunatics. A few years ago, Fox News’ Neil Cavuto told Weingarten on the air that he was “one of the best stockpickers I know.” Post-symposium, at the Princeton Club, Weingarten and I are joined at a table by a buttoned-down crew. One of them is an analyst for a small investment bank; another says he runs his own family office. Everyone has some kind of relationship with Weingarten, from the cordial to the professional, though nobody seems to understand how financial astrology works. “Tell me the time, don’t build me a clock!” says Paul Feeney, a corporate headhunter, repeatedly.

Replica of an East Indiaman of the Dutch East India Company/United East Indies Company (VOC). The Dutch East India Company was the first corporation to be ever actually listed on an official stock exchange. In 1611, the world's first stock exchange (in its modern sense) was launched by the VOC in Amsterdam. In Robert Shiller's own words, the VOC was "the first real important stock" in the history of finance.[21]

I don’t think you are wrong about Trump winning the Presidency. He is very close in the polls and the Clinton’s who totally control the media have faked the polls to show she is winning (came out in Wikileaks), but she isn’t. All their corruption is coming to light through WikiLeaks, disgruntled FBI agents, and alternative media investigative journalism. Moreover, the astronomical increase in the cost of health premiums under ObamaCare is turning tons of people away from Clinton. The only way she could win is by rigging big time the elections, but Trump supporters have organized an army of people to address the rigging.
“Across assets, these projections look tame relative to what the GFC delivered and probably unalarming relative to the recession/crisis averages” of the past, JPMorgan strategists John Normand and Federico Manicardi wrote, noting that during the recession and ensuing global financial crisis the S&P 500 fell 54 per cent from its peak. “We would nudge them all at least to their historical norms due to the wildcard from structurally less-liquid markets.”
Tax avoidance has not always related to corporation tax. A number of companies including Tesco used a scheme to avoid VAT by deeming 2.5% of purchases paid for by card to be a 'card transaction fee', which reduced the company's tax liability without changing the charge to the customer. Such schemes came to light after HMRC litigated against Debenhams over the scheme in 2005.[147]
"REMEMBER 1987"     The similarity with the day of Option Expiry on October 16, 1987 and today, Friday, January 15 is quite remarkable and reminds us of the extreme danger, as the stock market Crashed on Monday, October 19th. Here we are going into a three-day weekend with the markets as jittery as a Cat on a Hot Tin Roof! The Crawford Perspectives newsletter remains doubled up Short 200% (using full margin).

Record, Stock Market, and Time: THE STOCK MARKET JUST REACHED AN ALL-TIME HIGH DURING MY ADMINISTRATION FOR THE 102ND TIME, A PRESIDENTIAL RECORD, BY FAR, FOR LESS THAN TWO YEARS. One mitigation strategy has been the introduction of trading curbs, also known as "circuit breakers", which are a trading halt in the cash market and the corresponding trading halt in the derivative markets triggered by the halt in the cash market, all of which are affected based on substantial movements in a broad market indicator. Since their inception, circuit breakers have been modified to prevent both speculative gains and dramatic losses within a small time frame.[43]
By the way, our own Dr Doom, Professor Steve Keen, was also hailed as a good predictor of the GFC. Then at the University of Western Sydney, Keen received more than twice as many votes as his nearest rival and was judged the economist who first and most cogently warned the world of the coming Global Financial Collapse. He (and 2nd and 3rd place finishers, Nouriel Roubini (New York University) and Dean Baker (Centre for Economic and Policy Research), won the inaugural Revere Award for Economics, named in honour of Paul Revere and his famous ride through the night to warn Americans of the approaching British army.
Maybe what you saw is symbolic of what many countries want for the USA. Putin is far too intelligent to start a nuclear war in response to NATO gathering forces along his border. The US is the aggressor but always make it appear that other countries are. That is how they keep fooling their people to allow their government to bomb so many countries until they are a waste-land: Vietnam, North Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria. The US is a toxic country to most of the world, and their Deep State is trying to get rid of Donald Trump because he wants peace.

The JPMorgan model calculates outcomes based on the length of the economic expansion, the potential duration of the next recession, the degree of leverage, asset-price valuations and the level of deregulation and financial innovation before the crisis. Assuming an average-length recession, the model came up with the following peak-to-trough performance estimates for different asset classes in the next crisis, according to the note.
A stock is an ownership interest in a business. Publicly traded companies raise cash by going to the primary market, where shares are first sold to investors in an “initial public offering,” or IPO. What most of us consider the stock market is actually the secondary market. This is where previously issued shares are traded among market participants. Trading venues include the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) or the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations System (NASDAQ) among others. Bidding among buyers and sellers sets prices.
No, timing is everything actually Beffett’s money was made in 1970s He got out of the Market completely in 1968 and closed his partnership because of high valuations not supported by anything – same thing in 2000, 2007,. Patience means nothing if you are 70 and not working. Sure, when you are young dollar cost works well, but we are not all the same age and cycle. Someday cash is king. COT.COM crash was like the Gold crash of 1976 everyone wanted in – that’s when to fear, when everyone wants out that’s when to buy. Schiller is right.

In other words, bear markets are part of investing. You can’t avoid them – but you can make sure a bear market doesn’t wipe you out. Rule number one is to diversify, and periodically rebalance your portfolio. When a correction, stock market crash or bear market comes along, the stocks that fall the most are those that are trading at the highest valuations, those with the most debt, and those with the lowest margins.

Courtyard of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange (Beurs van Hendrick de Keyser) by Emanuel de Witte, 1653. The Amsterdam Stock Exchange is said to have been the first stock exchange to introduce continuous trade in the early 17th century. The process of buying and selling the VOC's shares, on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, became the basis of the world's first official (formal) stock market.[30][31]

It is important to secure a portion of your portfolio even if it lowers your return. Review and readjust your investments. Prepare to deal with when the bull market ends. One way to do it is by shifting your investments away from the risky investments to companies with high financial quality ratings proven by their financial statements. It is likely that these companies will lose less than the market in times of a market crash.
