I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the My Personal Finance Journey site called The Magic (and Limits) of Using Historical Data to Guide Your Investing Decisions. Juicy Excerpt: Whenever I find myself saying something negative about Buy-and-Hold (which is often!), I make it a point to add a mention somewhere of how much respect and affection and gratitude I feel for the Buy-and-Holders. One of the reasons I feel this way is that I believe so strongly that they are on the right track in…
In May 2008, when crude oil had broken through $100 a barrel, Merriman astrologically predicted—on the record—that it would top out at $144 (give or take $8) before plummeting within two years. Then he said it would decline, somewhere between 77 percent and 93 percent.) Goldman Sachs Group Inc., by contrast, thought crude could hit $200 a barrel, and traditional energy economists at Deutsche Bank AG were stupefied by the confusing market dynamics. Sure enough, crude hit $147.27 on July 11, 2008 and slid to $32.48 five months later.

Jeremy, as a businessman you have identified what also concerns many astrologers – bubbles. As you say, housing prices have ballooned and younger people cannot match their salaries with the price of (even) a studio apartment. This is not living in the real world, and people in their fifties, born with Neptune in Scorpio, the banking sign, have been inflating the bubbles. What we are going to see, in stages, from May 2018, is Uranus (shock, revolution, radical change) moving through Taurus (currency, money) and thus directly clashing with the Neptune in Scorpio position of everybody born in the 1960’s. It starts with people born with Neptune at 0, 1 Scorpio – in 2018 and 2019 – and then will systematically burst the borrowing/credit/property bubbles of billions, year by year. Apart from the adults born in the 1960s with Neptune in Scorpio, there are other, younger generations born with Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto in Scorpio as well. They are also going to be affected quite systematically, year by year. The other huge bubble now is cryptocurrency. All this non-reality is going to be seriously challenged, and it begins with a bang. Bitcoin will be a big part of that bang, as I have charts for the first trade and other key points in its history, which show patterns at – we guessed it – 0, 1 degrees. I was chatting to my friend Shelley von Strunckel, the astrologer for The Sunday Times, Vogue and other magazines about May 2018. Neither of us can ignore the fact that Prince Charles and Her Majesty the Queen both have placements triggered by this 0, 1 pattern. Uranus always turns the world upside-down. Her head is on Commonwealth currency, so you really have to wonder what’s going to happen here…

I appreciate this answer of Craig to ‘seeker’. It is in tune with my inputs from equivalents of Craig’s Naadi readings that say many evolved souls have incarnated outside of India [in west particularly] and this would have happen for quite some time. This will serve an inevitable purpose to serve in God’s scheme by providing support in bringing about an unprecedented spiritual New Age characterized by Universal Brotherhood and also mankind turning back to respective scriptures. They would increasingly realize during the changeover period that scriptures of all world faiths had been manifested by same One God in different parts of world from time to time.
“When I first met Henry, I thought, ‘What the hell,’ ” Husband says, evenly. Over time he learned to trust Weingarten’s advice and stop asking questions. “So if he uses—Henry, forgive me, because I don’t follow it—if he uses Jupiter and Mars to say that the next three-month trend for gold is going to be good, and if it coincides with something that I’m thinking, then OK.” To Husband, Weingarten’s appeal is obvious: “He uses astrology to separate himself from the other guys.”
“Across assets, these projections look tame relative to what the GFC delivered and probably unalarming relative to the recession/crisis averages” of the past, JPMorgan strategists John Normand and Federico Manicardi wrote, noting that during the recession and ensuing global financial crisis the S&P 500 fell 54 per cent from its peak. “We would nudge them all at least to their historical norms due to the wildcard from structurally less-liquid markets.”
In January 2013, the British media reported that horse meat had been found in some meat products sold by Tesco, along with other retailers, particularly burgers. Prime Minister David Cameron called this "unacceptable", with products showing 29.1% horse meat in the "Value" range burger, which were supposed to be beef.[152][153] It was later revealed in February 2013 that some of Tesco's Everyday Value Spaghetti Bolognese contained 60% horse meat.[154] Tesco withdrew 26 of its products in response, and announced that they were working with authorities and the supplier to investigate the cause of the contamination.[155]

I recently wrote a Guest Blog Entry for the Moolanomy blog entitled The Difference Between the Multiply-by-25 Rule and the 4-Percent Rule. Juicy Excerpt:  I believe strongly that the 4-Percent Rule at some times overstates and at other times understates the amount needed for a safe retirement; at times of high valuations the true safe withdrawal can drop to as low as 2 percent and at times of low valuations it can rise to as high as 9 percent. The Multiply-by-25 Rule isn’t by itself…

There was a chart floating around in early 2014 that had a 97.5% correlation between the stock market of 1928-29 and the stock market of 2013-14. That chart boldly predicted a massive stock market crash in 2014. Instead, from when the market was supposed to crash into the end of the year, stocks rose nearly 10%, and were in the middle of the longest bull market in history.
Morningstar offers a wealth of information about investing — so much, in fact, that it can be intimidating to new investors. But its online classroom, which is free to access, speaks a beginner’s language and offers four different tracks dedicated to stocks, bonds, funds and portfolio building. The course is text-based (read: a little dry), but it covers virtually everything you could ever want to know about investing, with a total of 172 different courses.
Set forth below is the text of a comment that I recently posted to the discussion thread for an article on Valuation-Informed Indexing appearing at the Invest It Wisely site: Look at the orange line at the bottom of Fig. 6: it follows the stock line (in black) most of the time, this is just plain buy-and-hold as long as valuations are sane. This strategy is closer to buy-and-hold than to, say, day-trading or stock picking. I certainly agree that the strategy you suggest (I call it…

I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Budgeting in the Fun Stuff blog. It's called The Last Days of Stock Investing Risk. Juicy Excerpt: You can never eliminate risk entirely because short-term returns are not at all predictable. But there is now 33 years of peer-reviewed research showing that long-term returns are highly predictable for those who consider valuations. Risk is optional! Go with a high stock allocation when prices are low, a moderate stock allocation when prices are at…

The crash followed an age of innovation, with major technological advances such as radios, automobiles, telephones, and more becoming adopted on a wide scale. Think of the 1920s as the dot-com boom of its day. Plus, investors were using margin (buying stocks with borrowed money) on a wide scale to speculate on a stock market that never seemed to go anywhere but up. It seems outlandish today, but ordinary investors were allowed to use up to 10-to-1 leverage to purchase stocks.
This is the one that's probably freshest in the minds of most people reading this, so I'll just give you a quick background. Easy credit and soaring real estate values led to rampant real estate speculation by people who, quite frankly, had no business speculating in real estate. The mortgage loans used, which in many cases were made for even more than the inflated values of the underlying homes, were packaged and sold to institutions as "investment grade" securities.
Interesting about your prediction for a volcanic eruption in Japan – the scientists are predicting that Mt. Fuji is going to erupt and I have seen another prediction of it happening this year. On a side note, I received a message that Mt. St. Helens is also going to erupt this year, but don’t have a clue when. It was just one of those messages that seem to come out of the blue, when I am not even thinking about anything in particular and have no vested interest in the event, for instance living near Mt. St. Helens. I did find another prediction on Google by somebody who claimed it was going to happen in May. We shall see what occurs.

The current bull market is now in its 10th year. We have no idea when it might end and give way to a bear market. However, it’s inevitable that at some point it will. Twice during 2018 we have already seen a spike in market volatility. This inevitably leads to fears of a market crash. The truth is that a stock market crash can never really be predicted. People who predicted crashes in the past are the same people who predicted crashes in the years they didn’t happen.
Memes, Recess, and Stock Market: A Short History Lesson 1928 Republicans take control of the Presidency, the House and the Senate. Followed shortly by the Great Depression, massive unemployment and a Stock Market crash. 2000 Republicans take control of the Presidency, the House and the Senate. Followed shortly by two recessions including the Great Recession, massive unemployment and a Stock Market crash. 2016 Republicans take control of the Presidency, the House and the Senate. Anyone want to guess what happens next? Real Truth Vow This will NOT end well.
Thanks so much for all your amazing insights Jessica! I think you are truly incredible the way you respond to all your subscriber’s queries!! I posted this earlier on, but think it may have been missed in the deluge of interest in this article, so my profoundest apologies for the repetition. If, for some reason, you are unable to reply at this stage, I do understand. I’m intrigued by the Taurus 24 pattern … I have an almost precise quincunx between my Saturn at Capricorn 24 and Leo North Node at 24. My Ceres is also at 22 Taurus and I have Fortuna at Scorpio 1 and Mars at Scorpio 20 … how is this likely to impact on my finances? I’m considering buying a Duplex property with my 0 degrees Taurus Sun/Uranus return Mum (birthdate 21/4/35) who also has her natal Jupiter at Scorpio 20 (conjunct my Mars), her Moon at Scorpio 28 (conjunct my Bachus/Prosperina) and her Fortuna at Scorpio 17. This might give us a chance, together with my Stepdad, to relocate closer to the water and to the countryside south of Sydney which would be a dream come true for all of us. I worry about the physical and psychological impact of a move on her though given that she has had 50 years in the one house – and any isolation it might create for me as a musician, artist and teacher. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks Jessica :)
Corruption in the Investing Advice Field — The Wade Pfau StoryThis article provides links to all of my reports on my 16 months of correspondence with Academic Researcher Wade Pfau, the collaboration that produced the research we co-authored that shows millions of middle-class investors how to reduce the risk of stock investing by 70 percent (Ssshh! The Wall Street Con Men don’t want this one getting out!) If you retain doubts re whether Valuation-Informed Indexing is a real thing, looking over the materials available at this page and then reading a few of the reports that strike you as particularly important will dispel them. I believe that Wade will someday win a Nobel prize for the work he did here. The reports show his own skepticism and his transformed into excited BELIEVER in the Valuation-Informed Indexing concept.
I've posted my second Guest Blog Entry at the Arbor Investment Planner blog. It's called Asset Allocation Advisors Cause Financial Crisis. Juicy Excerpt: There is no study supporting Buy-and-Hold. The idea that academic research supports this approach is a myth. People really do believe in it; both experts and ordinary investors. But they don’t believe in it because of a study they have read. They believe in it because experts endorse it and because it is rarely challenged. We have…

It now looks like the secular bull market in stocks is turning into a secular bear market that could last for several years if not decades. The stock market acts as a sentiment indicator for what happens in the real economy. No indicator is perfect and stock market moves will be exaggerated in both directions. It is now likely that the world is starting an economic downturn of epic proportions.
On Black Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 38.33 points to 260, a drop of 12.8%. The deluge of selling overwhelmed the ticker tape system that normally gave investors the current prices of their shares. Telephone lines and telegraphs were clogged and were unable to cope. This information vacuum only led to more fear and panic. The technology of the New Era, previously much celebrated by investors, now served to deepen their suffering.
In May 2005, Tesco announced a trial non-food only format near Manchester and Aberdeen,[86] and the first shop opened in October 2005. The shops offered all of Tesco's ranges except food in warehouse-style units in retail parks. Tesco introduced the format as only 20% of its customers had access to a Tesco Extra, and the company was restricted in how many of its superstores it could convert into Extras and how quickly it could do so. Large units for non-food retailing are much more readily available. The format was not Tesco's first non-food only venture in the UK. Until the late 1990s/early 2000s there were several non-food Tesco shops around the country including Scarborough and Yate. Although not in a warehouse-style format, the shops were located on high streets and shopping centres, and stocked similar items to Homeplus shops. In both cases this was because another part of the shopping centre had a Tesco Superstore that stocked food items only. By 2014, the number of Homeplus shops in the United Kingdom had reached 12; the newest shop opened in Chester in July 2009. In 2012 it was reported that Tesco was looking to close the business to focus on groceries.[87] Tesco closed six Homeplus shops on 15 March 2015,[47] and the remaining six shops closed on 27 June 2015.[88]

By the way, our own Dr Doom, Professor Steve Keen, was also hailed as a good predictor of the GFC. Then at the University of Western Sydney, Keen received more than twice as many votes as his nearest rival and was judged the economist who first and most cogently warned the world of the coming Global Financial Collapse. He (and 2nd and 3rd place finishers, Nouriel Roubini (New York University) and Dean Baker (Centre for Economic and Policy Research), won the inaugural Revere Award for Economics, named in honour of Paul Revere and his famous ride through the night to warn Americans of the approaching British army.
I’ve posted Entry #417 to my weekly Valuation-Informed Indexing column at the Value Walk site. It’s called Three Comments That Reveal the Buy-and-Hold Mindset. Juicy Excerpt: My take is that Shiller really did start a revolution in our understanding of how stock investing works. Joe takes the more conventional view. He is not hotly opposed to hearing Shiller’s ideas explored, as are some of my critics. But he is not nearly as enthusiastic about the project as I am. He is complacent. He is not certain that Buy-and-Hold is the last word in investing analysis. But he does not feel any burning need to find a replacement for it. He is opened-minded about the subject but not intense about it. I think that that’s the view of most Buy-and-Holders and that that is why we will not see Valuation-Informed Indexing become more popular until a price crash causes many more investors to adopt a less complacent attitude. Even after the turnaround began in March 2009, it's not as if investors knew the bear had run its course. The S&P dropped by more than 15% in 2010 and by almost 20% in 2011. We know now that these setbacks were temporary speed bumps (albeit scary ones) within a new bull market. But investors back then didn't have the advantage of being able to consult a stock chart, as we can today, that showed them how it all played out.
Tesco's financial crisis of 2014[163] led to their reducing their capital expenditure on new shops, which led to the boarding up of new unopened shops in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire[164] and Immingham, Lincolnshire.[165] The controversial Chatteris mothballing caused local criticism after the £22 million project had re-routed a river and built a controversial roundabout and underpass, whereas the much anticipated Immingham development demolished a local shopping centre and closed several local shops to enable its construction. The impending arrival of Tesco also contributed to the Co-operative's decision to close their shop in the town.[166] Tesco's announcing the indefinite delay in their shop opening left the town of around 15,000 inhabitants without a supermarket. Tesco went ahead with the opening of shops in Little Lever,[167] Dunfermline[168] and Rotherham.[169]
Although we’ve seen more recognition of cryptocurrencies as investment vehicle, they’re still considered high-risk investments. Some see Bitcoin as safe-haven in case of a global crash due to its decentralized nature, the low correlation with the stock markets and the limited supply. Though, there is no reliable data available on how cryptocurrencies behave during a stock market crash. However, if you’re willing to take the risk, adding a small percentage of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency stocks to a diversified portfolio could be a worthwhile investment decision.
The latest swoon, which knocked the S&P 500 down more than 3 percent Wednesday, signaled to many Wall Street pros that the decline was entering a new, more dangerous phase. There’s growing concern now that this decline is more than a garden variety pullback, or drop of 5 percent to 9.99 percent, and could morph into a drop of 10 percent of more for the broad market.

At this stage, several roadblocks arise. First, there’s the issue of platform scale to consider. A meme might begin its life on Twitter, then move over to Facebook, or it might begin on Tumblr and migrate to Instagram. Some platforms won’t intersect; a meme may live out its entire existence on 4chan, never to feel the warm rush of a mother’s Facebook share. But the size of a platform can have a huge impact on how many times a meme is posted. Just because a particular meme had the good fortune to exist on Facebook instead of on Tumblr, does that mean it’s inherently more “valuable” than a Tumblr-only meme?

Venus will enter Libra sign on the first day of the month and thereby conjoin with Jupiter. The Stock market will turn Bearish, after showing Bullish sentiments. Smart traders will book profits in gainful positions. Mercury will enter Leo sign on the second day of the month and thereby conjoin with Sun. These two planets will be under the aspect of Mars. Bulls will show interest in the stocks of Banks, Insurance, FMCG, Bearings, Capital goods sector companies. Sun will enter Virgo sign on 17th. Mercury will conjoin Sun on 18th. These two planets will be under the aspect of Saturn. Stock market may see short term Bullish trend till 22nd. Value investors should make good use of low rates of Blue chip companies.
The crash followed a speculative boom that had taken hold in the late 1920s. During the latter half of the 1920s, steel production, building construction, retail turnover, automobiles registered, and even railway receipts advanced from record to record. The combined net profits of 536 manufacturing and trading companies showed an increase, in the first six months of 1929, of 36.6% over 1928, itself a record half-year. Iron and steel led the way with doubled gains.[19] Such figures set up a crescendo of stock-exchange speculation that led hundreds of thousands of Americans to invest heavily in the stock market. A significant number of them were borrowing money to buy more stocks. By August 1929, brokers were routinely lending small investors more than two-thirds of the face value of the stocks they were buying. Over $8.5 billion was out on loan,[20] more than the entire amount of currency circulating in the U.S. at the time.[15][21]

Shilling is particularly worried about the $8 trillion in dollar-denominated emerging-market corporate and sovereign debt, especially as the U.S. dollar rises along with interest rates. “The problem is as the dollar increases,” he said, “it gets tougher and tougher for them to service [that debt] because it takes more and more of their local currency to do so.” Of that, $249 billion must be repaid or refinanced through next year, Bloomberg reported.

Regulation of margin requirements (by the Federal Reserve) was implemented after the Crash of 1929. Before that, speculators typically only needed to put up as little as 10 percent (or even less) of the total investment represented by the stocks purchased. Other rules may include the prohibition of free-riding: putting in an order to buy stocks without paying initially (there is normally a three-day grace period for delivery of the stock), but then selling them (before the three-days are up) and using part of the proceeds to make the original payment (assuming that the value of the stocks has not declined in the interim).
And on May 4 2012, a Russian miltary leader made a threat that Russia may launch a nuclear missile attack on U.S. Antiballistic Missile ABM Systems being deployed as a missile defense in Europe. Notice that this was said as Putin is coming into office again as Russian President. This shows what a scary psycho Putin is, threatening nuclear war. So a Russian military strike on Europe is a possibility in the future (or a North Korea missile strike on the U.S.).

I will give a detailed description of my theories in this web site. Also discussed here: economic predictions and the Stock Market, predictions of world events for this year and future years. And the election of President Barack Obama brings Hope to the world in a time of great economic crisis. I think the election of President Obama is part of a trend discussed on this page, where Hope for the world comes from the Southern Hemisphere. Note that Kenya is on the equator, where the Southern Hemisphere begins. This is related to the 1987 Southern Hemisphere Supernova, which resulted in a wave of positive change in the Southern Hemisphere, with Democracy coming to South America and positive change in South Africa.
The Times of London reported that the meltdown was being called the Crash of 2008, and older traders were comparing it with Black Monday in 1987. The fall that week of 21% compared to a 28.3% fall 21 years earlier, but some traders were saying it was worse. "At least then it was a short, sharp, shock on one day. This has been relentless all week."[34] Business Week also referred to the crisis as a "stock market crash" or the "Panic of 2008".[35]

It is not a big surprise, however, that many investors today remain interested in the forecasts of financial analysts regardless of their success. Humans in the past consulted oracles, crystal balls and tea leaves. It’s in our nature: As the proverb goes, “tell me a fact, and I'll learn; tell me a truth, and I’ll believe; but tell me a story and it will live in my heart forever.” We are attracted to story-telling, and when it comes to investing we seem to be searching for the most compelling narratives about the unknowable future, regardless of how accurate they turn out to be.

It’s a little early but it may be related – I’ll look at the chart for Argentina this morning – thank you. I suspect the real culprit will be gold. The astrology was really clear about the economic drama a very long time ago, but literally as this week ended, we saw that global demand for gold dropped between January and March, posting its weakest first quarter since the 2008 financial crisis. The trick with this Uranus in Taurus cycle is to use whatever is available before November. There will be a ton of radical new ways to save or make money coming. Yet, remember that the help of Jupiter (solutions, growth) in Scorpio (finance, property, possessions) disappears in November. From this point on, we are on our own and 2019 will be challenging for people who don’t move with the times. If ever there was a moment to take a deep breath and question your old way of banking and borrowing, 2018 is it!

There are examples of it working. “Astrology is one of the finest market-timing tools available in pinpointing dates of tradable market highs or lows,” said Raymond Merriman, author of the series Ultimate Book on Stock Market Timing: Geocosmic Correlations to Investment Cycles, and president of Merriman Market Analyst Inc. It works best for traders looking to enter and exit positions within three days to six months, not long-term investors, he said—that’s because planetary relationships, known as aspects, are more accurate in the short term. (His predictions cost $3,600 per year and reach 900 subscribers.)
I have no illusions about the Islamic world. 9/11 was only the start. Anybody who has read the Koran knows that it is a book of violence teaching violence against infidels. The Koran appeals to believers to conquer foreign lands and subjugate the natives. The last time the West has successfully forced out Islam was in 1683 at the Gates of Vienna. As a result, European civilisation could flourish and develop freedom and democracy. This time Europe will take a much more sinister turn, and a dark and bloody age will follow. As Europeans we have stopped believing in our own values. We are certainly not willing to defend them in this postmodern age of cultural relativism. We have become complacent and take our freedoms for granted to the extent that we cannot imagine any other circumstances. In future, Europeans, including the UK, will be truly tested. They will have to decide which values they believe in and what they are prepared to defend.
I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Future Storm blog. It's entitled What the Stock Investing Experts Don't Want You to Know. Juicy Excerpt: The experts are experts in selling first, second, third and fourth. They don’t tell us what we need to know about stocks but only what we want to know about stocks. We all wanted to think that those insane prices could continue indefinitely. That was of course a hopeless dream. But the experts did not want to be the ones to let us know. They…
Two things are gathering speed as I read your question. Malcolm Turnbull the Australian Prime Minister – a Scorpio – is about to see what it feels like to have Uranus (the revolution, the shock) move into his Seventh House of rivals, enemies and opponents, as well as partners – his wife Lucy but also his Deputy. This obviously happens with a bang, crash, wallop in the middle of May. Tony Abbott is also a Scorpio. The PM also has a Taurus name – TurnBULL and actually, the literal translation of Uranus in Taurus the bull, is ‘the bull is forced to turn.’ This means gold bullion and bull markets, symbolically, but also the cattle market. I am sure you know independent politicians are pushing for an end to the live export trade because of its cruelty. Put all that together and very close to May 16th, some will gain an awful lot, and some will lose. Massive highs and lows in Australian business, government and on the share markets. It just depends what side of history you’re on. Watch Julie Bishop.
I recently wrote a Guest Blog Entry for the Improve the Quality blog entitled Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires -- and Bull Markets! Juicy Excerpt: We cannot wait until prices are insanely high to warn people that they must sell their stocks, however. By then, people are too caught up in the fantasy thinking that characterizes bull markets to listen to reasonable advice. I think we need a change in our mindset toward stock investing. We need to think of the stock market as a community…

Can I guarantee this approach will lead to the best results over the long-term? Of course not. But at least you'll be following a disciplined rational strategy rather than engaging in a never-ending guessing game of trying to decide when to get out of the market (and where to put your money once you do) and then trying to figure out when to get back in. That's a game you can't consistently win.

I've posted the third entry to my monthly column at the Balance Junkie site. It's called Liberals Came Closer Than Conservatives With Their Explanation of the Economic Crisis. Juicy Excerpt: The comedian John Stewart had a funny line re this aspect of the story. There was a debate in the early days that executives of firms in the financial sector should be denied bonuses because they would be out of work but for the bailouts they received from the U.S. taxpayers. One executive complained…

Well its a good beginning book for sure however there were a lot of misspelled words that threw me off a few times while reading it. I never had any experience with trading or stocks so it is a good source of information. It does not go into how to really make money in a sense which is what I was looking for. I was hoping there would be more elaboration on what happens after you sell the stock such as can you take the money and put it in a bank after you sell it? what happens when you lose money? Overall read through it in one day probably took 2 hours.
Tesco launched its customer loyalty scheme, the Tesco Clubcard, in 1995. It has been cited as a pivotal development in Tesco's progress towards becoming the UK's largest supermarket chain and one that fundamentally changed the country's supermarket business.[70] Tesco itself was cited in a Wall Street Journal article as using the intelligence from the Clubcard to thwart Wal-Mart's initiatives in the UK.[71]

In March 2007, residents in Bournville, Birmingham fought to maintain the historic alcohol-free status of the area, in winning a court battle with Tesco, to prevent it selling alcohol at their local outlet. No shops are permitted to sell alcohol in the area and there are no pubs, bars or fast-food outlets in Bournville due to its Quaker roots.[148]
February of 2013 I had a dream prediction that Barrack Obama would be assassinated. Specifically, the dream precognition came twice, and was one of him being deleted as on a computer screen. So the assassination part was my interpretation, not the actual dream. I didn’t understand it the first time, then it repeated and I understood it, so it didn’t have to repeat again.
I've been a stockbroker for more than twenty years so I approached the book with experience in the investment market. I thought I knew a great deal about the causes and course of the '29 Crash but this book certainly opened my eyes. I had heard of famous men like William Durant and Richard Whitney but I never knew the wide ranging courses of their careers. One of the main lessons I drew from the book is the comparison between the actions of both the elite and the commoners in 1929 vs. those of the elite and the commoners in the Great Recession of 2008 to the present. Recommend this book highly to anybody interested in economic history or the history of the USA in the 20th Century.
This year has been significant in that there have been no wasps. Wasps like many creatures use the Earth’s electromagnetic fields as a navigational motorway. As we are in the flux of some change, wildlife is finding itself at sixes and sevens. As the electromagnetic fields and the gravitational forces increase, there is potential to use this power as a source of energy. This will not only solve the world’s energy problems but put an end to the wars in the Middle East that are caused to exploit Oil and gas resources. It will also stop Putin’s relentless need to control Eastern Europe and beyond. The change in the electromagnetic field will also alter man’s fundamentally left brain thinking to a more right brain creative problem solution thinking that is essentially more rounded and feminine in its notion. My understanding is this is a natural process in the Earth’s cycle. That humanity has been here before is without doubt. There is nothing for humanity to fear. The changes to come are one embrace.

But it's during those times when you need to guard against overriding the rational process you went through to build your portfolio. If you want to re-evaluate the portfolio mix you arrived at earlier just to confirm that it's right for you and even possibly make a small tweak or two, fine. But you don't want to let fear and emotions dictate your investing strategy and lead you to make impulsive decisions you may rue later.
Also, the Astrological events of August 1999 (a solar eclipse seen in Europe and a rare alignment of planets in a cross shape) is discussed. Possible Antichrist sighting: I think the Antichrist is the Russian President elected in March 2000, Vlad Putin, and the Red Dragon that Putin the Antichrist will be allied with is China, as well as Iran. And the planetary alignment of 5/5/2000 with the sun and planets on one side of the earth is discussed, note that Vladimir Putin was inaugurated as President of Russia 2 days later on May 7, 2000. And on November 4 2003 there was the largest solar flare ever seen, when Putin was in Rome, and on Nov. 8 there was a lunar eclipse and a grand sextile hexagon shaped astrology pattern, again indicating Putin is the Antichrist; apparently Putin visiting Rome, which is connected with the Antichrist in Bible prophecy, resulted in a tremendous Satanic force that resulted in the giant solar flare on Nov. 4 2003, see this page. And the possibility of a doomsday asteroid or comet collision with earth is discussed, note that in 2002 there were several asteroid near-misses with earth; and a King James Bible Code matrix may predict an asteroid hit in the ocean within a few years, causing a giant tidal wave. A suggestion: a great economic stimulus project would be to build an asteroid defense for earth, for a few billion $ NASA could build an asteroid defense using interceptor rockets, and this would create jobs in the U.S..
But the Northern Hemisphere could see problems, related to the economy, war, natural disasters, diseases; the Four Horsemen riding in 2017 - 2019. In 1993 there was a Supernova in the Northern Hemisphere Great Bear Constellation, and since Draco the Dragon is a constellation close to it, and the Dragon is Satan in Biblical symbolism, this began a negative influence over the Northern Hemisphere, which will likely continue. So the Northern Hemisphere will likely see problems with earthquakes, volcanoes, diseases, wars, weather changes, economic problems, the rise of the Antichrist in Russia, terrorist attacks. Also, a comet or asteroid could hit the earth possibly in 2018 - 2020. After this, a new Messiah will come, as indicated by this new Star of Bethlehem, the Southern Hemisphere supernova which will then be visible in the sky again. He will likely bring a new source of energy, possibly Cold Fusion. See the 666 day intervals section for more on this timetable, and also there is another brightening star, Eta Carinae, near the Southern Cross. See this page on King James Bible Code matrices which may predict Eta Carinae could explode into a bright (daytime) Southern Hemisphere supernova in 2018-2019, and also on matrices on the 1987 supernova, which is brightening again.
Trying to time a market crash or correction is pretty much impossible, and trying to estimate how much will be lost in that crash is even more difficult. If you had listened to David Haggith’s  doom and gloom warnings back in 2012, you would have missed out on one of the greatest bull runs in history. You also have to realise that permabear “experts” such as Marc Faber exist and that they will constantly make predictions about how the next big market crash is just seconds away. To sum it up: Nobody really knows when it’s going to happen or if it’s worth staying on the sidelines while the market continues to grow upwards. Well, everyone except me of course. I’m 100% certain that a market crash is going to happen in 2018.
Lilith is not part of modern astrology as she has no family relationship to the original, classical planets – Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Astrology is based on planets, asteroids and other heavenly bodies which all have a logical connection to each other, and Lilith simply doesn’t. The reason some astrology students use her is possibly because she’s been included in old 20th century ephemerides, but you won’t find her in the charts you get here – so please don’t bother. You have a very complicated chart when it comes to money. I am not surprised you feel you never have an easy break with finances. You were born with the Moon at 25 Taurus, just two degrees away from Mars at 27 Taurus. Chiron is also at 19 Taurus. Meanwhile, right opposite, you have Uranus at 27 Scorpio, so he is exactly opposite your natal Mars. Very hard work! Panacea at 16 Taurus and Bacchus at 21 Taurus complete this stellium (unusually high number of factors) in your Second House. You won’t experience any changes until transiting Uranus travels all the way to 16, and then as he moves through to 19, 21, 25 and 27 many years from now, you will find your values change quite substantially. Your values now really revolve around what you will sell your soul for/refuse to sell your soul for. Everyone has some kind of price. Your values are also about who or what you consider to be precious or even priceless. Some people are Marxists and some people are shopaholics. Some give to charity and some avoid tax because they disagree with the government. Some drop out and live off the grid and some work in banks. Worrying is not necessary but you do need to stay open and remain informed. You will feel the bump/the bang of Uranus entering your Second House in mid-May and that is when you need to do a ton of reading, and a lot of talking. There is an inner conflict here between your Mars in Taurus in the Second House at 27 Taurus and Uranus in the Eighth House at 27 Scorpio. You feel the urge to act, to push, to fight (if required) and to compete, when it comes to all that you earn, own or owe. At the same time, whenever you strike out like this, you hit internal conflicts or inner opposition, as there is a part of you which is endlessly inventive, productive and creative when it comes to money, charity, business, houses, possessions or apartments – but you reject what comes, and are then knocked sideways by it anyway. You essentially upset your own apple cart. You need to look up Mars, Uranus, Second House, Eighth House, Taurus, Scorpio on Search and get to know yourself really well before this cycle begins. On the plus side, Jupiter (abundance, expansion, growth, fortunate outcomes, hope, solutions) will reach 27 Scorpio in the final months of this year and you will find that as he conjuncts Uranus in your chart and opposes Mars, you will have a huge open door. I’m not saying the lock won’t take work, and the key won’t be hard to find – but the door will be wide open and it could lead somewhere astonishing for you.
In July 2001, Tesco became involved in internet groceries retailing in the USA when it obtained a 35% stake in GroceryWorks.[30] In 2002, Tesco purchased 13 HIT hypermarkets in Poland. It also made a major move into the UK's convenience shop market with its purchase of T & S Stores, owner of 870 convenience shops in the One Stop, Dillons and Day & Nite chains in the UK.[31]
{} Short-term:  Sun conjunction Mercury in Capricorn, especially if correlating with a conjunction or opposition involving the Sun, Mars, or Jupiter, indicates a sharp turn up in the market beginning 25 days before the Sun/Mercury conjunction.   There was a Sun/Mercury Capricorn conjunction 12/29/13 and a Sun opposition Jupiter 1/5/14.  This prediction was realized with the 2013 market close.
In short selling, the trader borrows stock (usually from his brokerage which holds its clients' shares or its own shares on account to lend to short sellers) then sells it on the market, betting that the price will fall. The trader eventually buys back the stock, making money if the price fell in the meantime and losing money if it rose. Exiting a short position by buying back the stock is called "covering." This strategy may also be used by unscrupulous traders in illiquid or thinly traded markets to artificially lower the price of a stock. Hence most markets either prevent short selling or place restrictions on when and how a short sale can occur. The practice of naked shorting is illegal in most (but not all) stock markets.
We haven’t had an October like this in a very long time.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down another 327 points on Thursday, and overall the Dow is now down close to 1,500 points from the peak of the market.  Unlike much of the rest of the world, it is still too early to say that the U.S. is facing a new “financial crisis”, but if stocks continue to plunge like this one won’t be too far away.  And as you will see below, many believe that what we have seen so far is just the start of a huge wave of selling.  Of course it would be extremely convenient for Democrats if stocks did crash, because it would give them a much better chance of doing well in the midterm elections.  This is the most heated midterm election season that I can ever remember, and what U.S. voters choose to do at the polls in November is going to have very serious implications for the immediate future of our country.
The U.S. stock market is in an amazing shape. Every day new all-time highs are set. This MUST be bullish, and investors should go all-in, right? Well, not that fast, at least not in our opinion. We see many signs that this rally is getting overextended, from an historical perspective. While we clearly said a year ago that we were bullish for this year, we did not see any stock market crash coming (a year ago). Right now, we are now on record with a forecast of a stock market crash in 2018, and it could take place as early as the first weeks / months of 2018.
There isn’t really a definition of a stock market crash. A correction occurs when stocks fall more than 10% from recent highs. A bear market is usually a sustained drop in prices, with prices falling at least 20% below recent highs. While there is no precise definition of a stock market crash, if the market falls more than 15% in a matter of days, many people would probably refer to it as a crash.

Rather than trying to time the market, which is incredibly hard to do and often counterproductive, it can be helpful to remember that the attractive long-term returns to the stock market include many market crashes. Depending on your measurement criteria, time-period and exactly what index you look at well-diversified portfolio have averaged returns of around 6%-10% a year over time.
So, when will the stock market crash again? There is no way to accurately predict a bear market. The FAANG stocks (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google) have led the bull market over the last 9 years. If these stocks fail to keep their earnings momentum going, investors may lose confidence in the market. So far only Facebook and Netflix have disappointed investors, while Apple remains as strong as ever.
Most people invest their hard-earned money in the stock market through mutual funds or ETFs. Often this is through a company-sponsored plan such as a 401(k). Watching the daily swings in the value of your holdings can seem quite mysterious. If you own a stock and research what the business does, you will start to understand the relationship between business performance and the value of your stock holding. In the short-term, a variety of crazy factors can push the price of your company’s stock around. But in the long-term, the price of your company (and stock) will be determined by its business performance. And it’s the long term-that matters. As you get to understand how this works for one company, you will begin to get a feel for how the markets behave, although I don’t know that anyone truly understands the gyrations of the stock markets.
In the period running up to the 1987 crash, less than 1 percent of the analyst's recommendations had been to sell (and even during the 2000–2002 bear market, the average did not rise above 5%). In the run-up to 2000, the media amplified the general euphoria, with reports of rapidly rising share prices and the notion that large sums of money could be quickly earned in the so-called new economy stock market.[citation needed]

Planetary indications are indicating that the Bulls are getting tired and the Bears will spread their muscles by short selling. Profit booking by the buyers, short term traders and the retail investors will pull the Indices down. Mars will enter Capricorn sign and conjoin with Ketu on 2nd. Mars will aspect Sun in Aries. Although the Bears will try to create negative and dull sentiments yet the market will be led by the Bulls in the first week. Mercury, the planet of business & commerce, will enter in Aries sign and thus conjoin with Sun. It will be under the aspect of Mars & Jupiter. This planetary cocktail will keep the traders guessing and suddenly set Bearish tone. Sun will move to Taurus and Venus will move to Gemini on 14th. Venus will be under the aspect of Saturn & Jupiter. This will create a mixed reaction. Change in the trend will be visible from 27th, when Mercury will conjoin Sun in Taurus. Overall view for the May month is Bearish.
Thank you Jessica. This on-going legal dispute is sadly due to the other party refusing any form of negotiation and settlement, hence 12 legal cases on, we are going around in circles. Nobody knows what he wants. By the way, he was born 21 April 1965, in Tizi Ouzou, Algeria. I feel we have wasted 5 years of our working lives, as he has tied us in knots financially and we cannot do anything else but to keep fighting and save what we have worked so hard for. He seems mentally unstable and intent on destroying everything we have created for his own material gain. Uranus will be passing his Taurus sun soon. How could that be interpreted? Thank you once again

Preparation is key. The best time to react to any potential market crash is before it occurs. Not after. Reacting in the moment can lead to expensive and costly mistakes. For example, if you saw that socks were on sale, you'd be more interested in buying socks. However, when it comes to stocks, people take a different view. When stocks are on sale, as can occur in a market crash, then often investors' instincts are to run away. Thinking about your strategy ahead of time and writing it down, just in a couple of paragraphs, can be key. Then if the markets do crash, make sure to look at that document before you act.
A margin call is made if the total value of the investor's account cannot support the loss of the trade. (Upon a decline in the value of the margined securities additional funds may be required to maintain the account's equity, and with or without notice the margined security or any others within the account may be sold by the brokerage to protect its loan position. The investor is responsible for any shortfall following such forced sales.)
The trend towards forms of saving with a higher risk has been accentuated by new rules for most funds and insurance, permitting a higher proportion of shares to bonds. Similar tendencies are to be found in other developed countries. In all developed economic systems, such as the European Union, the United States, Japan and other developed nations, the trend has been the same: saving has moved away from traditional (government insured) "bank deposits to more risky securities of one sort or another".

(12) Asteroid hitting earth. There is a possibility of an asteroid or comet hitting earth within a few years, since it is described in Revelation 8. This is why an asteroid defense is needed, which NASA could build if they were funded to do so. These King James Bible Code matrices indicate there could be an asteroid ocean hit in 2018-2019, the asteroid breaking up into 7 pieces in the atmosphere as it hits, so 7 impacts, and a giant tidal wave resulting that floods coastal cities. This could be the "seven thunders" of Revelation 10:3:
Weingarten doesn’t often discuss his bad predictions: for instance, the great stock market crash of 2006. Or the meteoric rise of a “robotic construction” company named International Hi-Tech Industries Inc., which paid him as a consultant, underwrote his website, and eventually fell to pennies a share before being delisted. (Weingarten: “Well, the guy was an asshole.”) Look a little deeper into the records of other astrologers, and they aren’t always pretty. When I call Hulbert, the guy who rates newsletters, he confirms that once in a while Crawford has performed really well. But overall? From 1989 to early 2016, Hulbert says, his record was “unremarkable.”
The www.Conservatives4Palin.com site has posted my Reader Submission titled How Ruing Class Stock Pushers Caused the Economic Crisis. Juicy Excerpt: Why would experts say that Buy-and-Hold can work if it always causes an economic crisis? Stocks pay higher commissions than most alternative asset classes. It is in the short-term financial interests of those who make their living selling stocks to persuade middle-class people that stocks are always the best buy. Some say that this is not a…
I agree with Craigs. It’s likely Trump coming to power, one way or other. One way is elections-win. Other way is stern ‘power grab’ or cause some civil unrest. Something bad is going to happen starting mid-Nov regarding Trump, throughout 2017. May be civil unrest throughout 2017-2018….. A huge possibility of War between India-Pakistan, and Muslims being destroyed in 2017 all over the world…. Then it would be West vs Russia and China… 2020 is the finish line, that could wipe off up to 95% world population of living beings, not just humans. HOWEVER, if spiritual people plan differently, then God-power will intervene and save major collapse… these being future events, the post-US election is going to be ‘war’. Likely a totally new ‘spiritual entity/power’ will rise up in US and possibly prevent major events. May be? (Just guessing after reading things online, and what I feel is ‘right’, intuitively).

I said there would be a big eruption in Iceland and India soon – which has not happened yet. However, in September 2016 I said in my predictions on my website and on my YouTube video: “I see volcanic problems around Italy around the area of Vesuvius and maybe the Island of Ischia.” (See also Hawaii prediction below) (Correct 10/10 Naples has had some of the worst earthquakes in many years. See Express 17 August 2018)
Recessions occur when a little slowdown in spending in an economy feeds on itself. Businesses get a little more cautious in their hiring, so vulnerable workers do a little more precautionary saving, so businesses become more cautious still, and so on. There is nothing structurally broken about the economy when this happens; factories work like they did before and workers have the same skillsets. But because everyone worries and saves a little more, and invests and spends a little less, the economy gets stuck in a downturn. Recessions are an outbreak of collective madness.
Mother Earth is now in greatest distress because of the exploding population explosion which is greatly ignored by the governments. As you are aware we all have our free wills. Some countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Palestine have all run out of space and many countries are encroaching on valuable farm lands. Added to this is enchroaching and expanding deserts and valuable coastal lands overtaken by encroaching sea waters because of global warming. Added to this is massive droughts and floods. You, Dear Sir, spend a lot of time in India and are very familiar with Karma, nemisis, faith, yogamaya, samskara – Every action has an equal reaction. Now is Payback time. As Ex- President Senior Bush said – ” you ( earth people) trash the earth, the earth will trash you back”. You all are going to be trashed severally. This is a grim warning.
Regarding the Naadi leaves owned by Thomas Ritter and translated from ancient Tamil: the leaves talk about the current great disconnect between the actions of the political leaders and the needs and wishes of the general population, mass immigration into Europe, economic decline, increasing poverty and civil war in European countries and the USA. The leaves mention an attack on the Vatican and a period of darkness in the northern hemisphere after a volcanic eruption. Many European prophets, past and present, and even the Hadith (9th century companion to the Koran) talk about a three day darkness in our time. There are many other events predicted by European prophets that correspond with predictions in the Naadi oracle.
Welcome and thank you for taking out Premium Membership. Your best bet with the minority shareholder and also your real estate is to use Jupiter at 26 Scorpio, crossing your Ceres at 26 Scorpio in the Eighth House of finance, property and business. You were born with Ceres here, so it’s been your fate to know repeated highs and lows. This is where you are powerful. No doubt about it. You are quite right to feel entitled, passionate and very much in ownership of all that is there, with the money, property, charity, possessions or business interests. At the same time, Ceres is a symbol of power and control issues, and when you say this has been going on for five years, that tallies with Saturn (hard times, hard lessons, delays, obstacles) going through Scorpio. I’m sure if you looked at this shareholder’s chart you would also find a ton of Scorpio stuff. Anyway – Ceres is all about making a deal. Enforced compromises with others, or even the universe. When Jupiter – breakthroughs, expansion, growth, improvement – moves to 26 Scorpio you will have a jaw-dropping opportunity to not only resolve things with this shareholder, but also to sort things out on a real estate level. We’re talking October 2018. Long-term, the North Node (karma, the past) will go through Cancer and your Fourth House of property, so you are very likely to return to an old location, an old residence or an old way of operating from years before. Any good karma you have earned will return to you. Read more on Ceres on Search. You are looking for Ceres in Scorpio in the Eighth House, so look up Scorpio and the Eighth House too and you’ll see why this is the year it all needs to be resolved.
With all the mass panic due to the {inevitable} stock market crash 2018 that occurred in early February (in both conventional stock & cryptocurrency markets), I hope my following (short by my standards) analysis using my “weapon of choice, AKA astrology” (in addition to market chart analysis etc), will help you understand what’s up. Did astrology predict this crash? Read on to find out!
My name is T. Chase, and I live in the U.S.. I grew up in the U.S. as a Christian Protestant, and I am of English Anglo-Saxon ancestry, but today I would call myself a New Age Christian. This site is a one person effort by me, and the theories and opinions expressed on this site are my own. I have worked on my theories for 20 years, and I started a web site in 1998 to explain my theories to the world. I would like to expand this site to have it translated into other languages. A multi-language site in 5 or 10 languages is my dream: in French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Dutch, etc.. But I don't know other languages myself, and translation of this site to other languages would cost a lot of money, since I would have to have professional translators do it. I have little money myself. This site is a one person effort by me, T. Chase. There is much I would like to do for this site, if I had the money to. If I had $1 million, I could do much for this site: translation to other languages, advertizing, publish a book, add sound and video. If anyone would like to give me $100,000 or more to help with improvement and advertizement of this web site (translation to other languages, advertizing, promotion, publish a book, etc.) then please email me. Another way to help this web site would be to mention the Revelation13.net web site in your Last Will and Testament, if you have $100,000 or more you wish to bequeath to this Revelation13.net web site and T. Chase. That will help me get the word out.
In the United Kingdom Tesco offers financial services through Tesco Bank, formerly a 50:50 joint venture with The Royal Bank of Scotland. Products on offer include credit cards, loans, mortgages, savings accounts and several types of insurance, including car, home, life and travel. They are promoted by leaflets in Tesco's shops and through its website. The business made a profit of £130 million for the 52 weeks to 24 February 2007, of which Tesco's share was £66 million. This move towards the financial sector diversified the Tesco brand and provides opportunities for growth outside of the retailing sector. On 28 July 2008, Tesco announced that they would buy out the Royal Bank of Scotland's 50% stake in the company for £950 million.[77]
Being a renowned astrologer is a bit like being a chess grandmaster: Lesser practitioners know how the pieces move, but virtuosos see the interconnectedness of each piece in solving the larger puzzle. That's to say that most astrologers can read natal charts and tick off a laundry list of future possibilities based on a set of rote rules related to planetary positioning, but Vashistha incorporates peerless astrology knowledge gained in formal academic training and experience with thousands of clients: He got his master’s in astrology at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, and a Ph.D. in raja yoga, a part of Hindu astrology focused on planetary situations that indicate wealth and power. He sees the whole board, as it were.
Despite fears of a repeat of the 1930s Depression, the market rallied immediately after the crash, posting a record one-day gain of 102.27 the very next day and 186.64 points on Thursday October 22. It took only two years for the Dow to recover completely; by September 1989, the market had regained all of the value it had lost in the 1987 crash. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained six-tenths of a percent during the calendar year 1987.
In the 1920’s, banks were opening up at the rate of 4 to 5 per day.  There were few federal restrictions to determine start up capital needed to start up a new bank or how much of its reserve it could lend.  As a result, most of these banks were highly insolvent.  Banks were closing at the rate of 2 a day between 1923 and 1929.  Then as banks moved to invest heavily in the stock market, this proved to be a disaster when the market crashed.  By 1932, 40% of all banks were wiped out.

Ninth, Trump was already attacking the Fed when the growth rate was recently 4%. Just think about how he will behave in the 2020 election year, when growth likely will have fallen below 1% and job losses emerge. The temptation for Trump to “wag the dog” by manufacturing a foreign-policy crisis will be high, especially if the Democrats retake the House of Representatives this year.
