No, timing is everything actually Beffett’s money was made in 1970s He got out of the Market completely in 1968 and closed his partnership because of high valuations not supported by anything – same thing in 2000, 2007,. Patience means nothing if you are 70 and not working. Sure, when you are young dollar cost works well, but we are not all the same age and cycle. Someday cash is king. COT.COM crash was like the Gold crash of 1976 everyone wanted in – that’s when to fear, when everyone wants out that’s when to buy. Schiller is right.
Dobbies is a chain of garden centres across Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. Tesco completed its acquisition of Dobbies in 2008, and the company continued to trade under its own brand, from its own head office in Melville, near Edinburgh. On 17 June 2016, Tesco sold the company on to a group of investors led by Midlothian Capital Partners and Hattington Capital for £217 million.[89]

It’s not over.  The worst October stock market crash since 2008 got even worse on Friday.  The Dow was down another 296 points, the S&P 500 briefly dipped into correction territory, and it was another bloodbath for tech stocks.  On Wednesday, I warned that there would be a bounce, and we saw that happen on Thursday.  But the bounce didn’t extend into Friday.  Instead, we witnessed another wave of panic selling, and that has many investors extremely concerned about what will happen next week.  Overall, global stocks have now fallen for five weeks in a row, and during that time more than 8 trillion dollars in global wealth has been wiped out.  That is the fastest plunge in global stock market wealth since the collapse of Lehman Brothers, and it is yet another confirmation that a major turning point has arrived.
The one thing I do know is that the market will make a major change in direction. It’s going to try to hide it as much as possible because it wants to screw everybody. The big traders — the sharks — make money, but all the minnows get eaten. That’s what the market wants. It wants people to be trapped in the bubble. Bubbles are very tricky to play. Now is a good time to get out. The upside is limited.
Blind optimism over the tax cuts have led Wall Street analysts to produce a 2019 forward earnings estimate that's 46% greater than the most recent 12-month operating earnings for the S&P 500, he said. "The combination of extreme valuations and extreme earnings expectations creates a situation that's ripe for disappointment," wrote Hussman in a recent blog post on his company site.
Anaconda, Memes, and Obama: In Obama's first year, he prevented another Great Depression, saved the US auto industry, and put us on track to cut the uninsured rate in half and triple the stock market. Trump gave himself a $15-million-a- year tax cut and defended neo-Nazis. See the difference? OCCUPY DEMOCRAT Matt Palumbo Obama: 30 percent growth during the most volatile market on record-100% of that 30 percent gain was merely retracing lost value from past declines. Trump:25 percent growth. Least volatile market in history. First time since the 1980s where we had 12 straight positive months of stock market gains. Record low unemployment, rising wages, rising labor force participation. All gains make new all time highs
Jump up ^ Sylla, Richard (2015). "Financial Development, Corporations, and Inequality". (BHC-EBHA Meeting). As Richard Sylla (2015) notes, "In modern history, several nations had what some of us call financial revolutions. These can be thought of as creating in a short period of time all the key components of a modern financial system. The first was the Dutch Republic four centuries ago."
Suddenly you have to judge what happens – as it happens. You have to forget what you thought you knew. Whom you relied upon, minutes before. Everything is illuminated. Sheets and forks of lightning brilliantly expose the town below, as if it was daylight. You’re going to have to make this up as you go along, from this point on. This is exactly what the astrology advises from May 2018 onwards, right through 2019. See the light. Move according to the storm.

A meme economy doesn’t mean anyone with cash to burn will be able to gamble with Dat Boi shares on Wall Street. The market will operate on its own fictional currency — as on the subreddit, no one participating will actually use or make any real cash. Even without any dollars in play, the most important and difficult part of Wink and Vaisman’s project has been assigning a stock price to memes. “The idea is to give this usually intangible thing a value, so that people can feel like they’re earning something when before they could not,” Vaisman told The Verge. That means coming up with an algorithm capable of determining the value, based on a combination of popularity and growth, of every meme.

IN AUGUST 1999 WHEN PUTIN FIRST ROSE TO POWER IN RUSSIA, THERE WAS A RARE GRAND CROSS ASTROLOGY PATTERN OF PLANETS IN A CROSS SHAPE, AND A TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE OVER EUROPE, INDICATING THAT PUTIN IS THE EVIL ANTICHRIST OF REVELATION 13 WHOSE NUMBER IS 666. Putin is attempting to destroy NATO and take over the world. Do not underestimate Putin - Putin has hypnosis mind control powers he can use to control people, hypnotizing them by staring at them, his eyes are said to be intense and hypnotizing. Others who could hypnotize people with their gaze were Rasputin and Hitler.
Over the next year, "equities will probably continue to go up as we have all these stock buybacks and free cash flow," Minerd told CNBC. But "ultimately, when the chickens come home to roost and we have a recession, we're going to see a lot of pressure on equities especially as defaults rise, and I think once we reach a peak that we'll probably see a 40% retracement in equities."
We would rather see that signal reversed at least near term. Also, the 50-day moving average has dropped below the 200-day moving average and both have rolled over. That must be reversed as well.  Politically all metals have been smashed recently on news of Trump tariff activity. I believe this reaction is temporary but require better technical stock action to take a more aggressive stance.

A spin-off of the typical Drake meme, where famous hedge fund manager Michael Burry shows his preference for Subprime over the clothing brand Supreme. Burry is famous because he predicted the subprime mortgage crisis and made money by shorting the market. This scene is from the movie The Big Short, in which Burry is portrayed by actor Christian Bale. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, then what the hell are you doing looking at stock market memes?
What you can do is prepare for the next crash. In fact, regardless of how the stock market is doing today, you should be prepared for a crash – because unexpected events (black swans) can trigger one at any time. You don’t need to wait for the next stock market crash prediction to come along to learn about bear markets, how they occur, why they occur, and what you can do to avoid being wiped out. We prepared this guide for that very reason.

Another not so great thing going on is a Saturn return happening in the Dow’s chart. This happens to all of us between the ages of 27 to 30 years old and if you’ve been a good girl or boy, good things manifest, your career takes off but so does your responsability. This is a manifesting aspect, a maturing aspect, making people or entities reap the karma of their past, so if you’ve been bad, it’s not a good time. It’s not uncommon for people who have lived a reckless life to die during this aspect or become very ill or near death.

Just curious, since you are closer to the “action” out there. Do you or anybody know if there is any type of timetable or budget for the great investigator [Mueller]? Or do he and his posse have a blank check with this whole White House investigation? I would be interested in what this little crusade has cost us so far, since he has summoned quite a group to leave no stone, rock, or post unturned.
Usually, HFT programs and computer trading works without a hitch. But once in a while problems do crop up. Back on Aug. 24, 2015, the United States’ three major stock indexes plunged on the open, but would recover much of their losses by midday. Among the reasons blamed for the dip were market makers and HFT traders. With so many stocks within the S&P 500 failing to open on time, and a number of exchange-traded funds under trading halts, HFTs and other high-speed traders shut down their systems, removing much-needed liquidity from the marketplace and exacerbating the early-day decline.
In 1907 and in 1908, the NYSE fell by nearly 50% due to a variety of factors, led by the manipulation of copper stocks by the Knickerbocker company.[21] Shares of United Copper rose gradually up to October, and thereafter crashed, leading to panic.[22][23] A number of investment trusts and banks that had invested their money in the stock market fell and started to close down. Further bank runs were prevented due to the intervention of J.P.Morgan.[24] The panic continued to 1908 finally and led to the formation of the Federal reserve in 1913.[25]
Indeed, after learning your trading would be lot more better. As, you understand the dynamics of the market and learn to analyze and make trading decisions after completing the course. You’ll also learn which company is good which is bad! Are these stock overvalued? When our market is bullish or bearish? Your entry and exit in stock market will improve a lot.
Even odder than the existence of the Astrologers Fund is its ability to attract the interest of nonlunatics. A few years ago, Fox News’ Neil Cavuto told Weingarten on the air that he was “one of the best stockpickers I know.” Post-symposium, at the Princeton Club, Weingarten and I are joined at a table by a buttoned-down crew. One of them is an analyst for a small investment bank; another says he runs his own family office. Everyone has some kind of relationship with Weingarten, from the cordial to the professional, though nobody seems to understand how financial astrology works. “Tell me the time, don’t build me a clock!” says Paul Feeney, a corporate headhunter, repeatedly.

This fast-paced, gripping (and all-too-timely) account of the market crash of October 1929 puts a human face on the crisis. Blumenthal, the Dallas bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal, sets the scene in the affluent post-Great War society: she reproduces the famous January 1929 cartoon from Forbes magazine (a frenetic crowd grasping at a ticker tape) and her statement "Executives who had spent their lives building solid reputations cut secret deals in pursuit of their own stock-market riches" may send a shiver down the spines of older readers aware of recent corporate scandals. The author deciphers market terms such as bull and bear, stock and bond in lucidly worded sidebars and describes the convergence of speculation, optimism and greed that primed the market for failure. Throughout, Blumenthal relates the impact of historical developments on everyday citizens. Supported by archival photographs, cartoons and documents, the text is rife with atmospheric detail about the customs of the stock exchange (from buttonhole flowers to the opening and closing gongs). Other asides, such as the first appearance of women on the exchange floor, or the rise (and fall) of immigrant Michael J. Meehan, who championed the stock of Radio Corporation, continue to keep the focus on the human element. Blumenthal ably chronicles the six-day descent and exposes the personalities, backroom machinations and scandals while debunking several popular myths about the crash (e.g., that it caused mass suicide and the Great Depression). A compelling portrait of a defining moment in American history. Ages 12-up.
(5) War. War could be a worsening problem in 2018 - 2019. Russia could invade Ukraine and other former Soviet Union countries to incorporate into Russia. Russia has threatened a missile strike on NATO ABM sites in Eastern Europe, and North Korea has threatened to launch a missile strike on the U.S.. On May 4 2012, a Russian miltary leader made a threat that Russia may launch a nuclear missile attack on U.S. Antiballistic Missile ABM Systems being deployed as a missile defense in Europe. Notice that this was said as Putin is coming into office again as Russian President. This shows what a scary psycho Putin is, threatening nuclear war. So Putin could start a nuclear war around 2018-2019. Also watch out for a major war (that could be an India - Pakistan war, or a war in the Middle East, or Iran, Syria, Iraq and ISIS terrorists, or North Korea launching missiles). There is also concern over the Second Horseman War riding in 2018-2019 with Putin. Or a war in the Middle East resulting from revolutions in countries in North Africa and the Middle East, there seems to be a spreading wave of revolution there, who knows where it will lead.

Hi, thanks for your work. I know you said that a couple of US ships sank already in a training exercise, but when you wrote about a big sinking event of a US boat I recalled that some time back Iran claimed to have “carrier-killer” torpedo. Not long ago after the US/Iran “Deal” was nixed Iran said it had total control of the Straights of Hormuz, and since then there seems to be radio silence concerning Iran, no news at all in the major outlets. Maybe it’s a carrier that’ll sink? Only time will tell I guess.
However, in 1929 we didn’t have have the same rules, regulations and stop gaps that were put into place later so even though the aspects were not as insane as they were in the 2008 chart – it clearly was enough for an innate volatile and unchecked market to plunge. In this chart Uranus is going through the 8th (other people’s money 8th and Uranus=volatility) Pluto was making an applying square to the Moon in the 8th and the lights were Mercury/Sun midpoint on the natal Jupiter/Neptune conjunction which opposes the natal Saturn/Moon opposition. So basically there is a T-Square from Pluto in Cancer being triggered by those faster moving planets. And the general volatility of Uranus in the 8th and the time period where there were less controls over the market made it take a plunge. Neptune was also conjunct the cusp – just hitting the first house. That big shift over that 1st house on the angle was also a major contributor despite the fact that it was making a trine to Venus. Whenever a big planet hits that point something should happen. Otherwise that T-square (by the Pluto in Cancer transit) should have had a counterpoint when Pluto hits that same point in opposition like – oops, NOW!

If you doubt that, go back to the last major slump, the near 60% decline in the Standard & Poor's 500 index from early October, 2007 to early March, 2009. It's easy to see with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight that it would have been smart to get out of the market the first week of October. But that was hardly obvious in real time. In fact, after dropping by almost 20% from October to early March 2008, stocks rallied for a 12% gain into the middle of May. We know now that this was just a brief respite from what would turn out to be a gut-wrenching bear market. But for all investors knew at the time, that 12% rebound could have signaled the end of the selloff and a resumption of the market's advance.
To illustrate this we have included the TED spread which is a good stress indicator for credit and currency markets. That’s where turmoil always starts before it trickles down to other parts of global markets like for instance stock markets. It is “the difference between the interest rates on interbank loans and on short-term U.S. government debt.” TED is an acronym formed from T-Bill and ED, the ticker symbol for the Eurodollar futures contract. It incorporates both interest rates and currency stress. But as seen on below up-to-date chart there is no stress whatsoever.
Set forth below is the text of a comment that I recently posted to the discussion thread for another blog entry at this site: Can we count on you for discussing the death threats and job threats over on this new board as well? I never lead with the death threats and the job threats. The substantive stuff is what matters most and people hate to hear about the death threats and the job threats. But as a society we have to deal with the death threats and job threats before the substantive stuff can get widely known. Shiller published his “revolutionary” (his word) research 37 years ago. The obvious question that anyone asks when someone tells them about the realities of stock investing is: “Why haven’t I heard about this before?” It’s not possible to explain the 37-year cover-up without making reference to the death threats and job threats. It’s not possible to pull something like this off without death threats and job threats. There are other things that help to explain the 37-year cover-up. Cognitive dissonance is a big one. The counter-intuitive nature of some of the realities. Just the fact that we don’t know it all. Ignorance. That’s a factor that should not be overlooked. I talk about that stuff. I don’t talk only about death threats and job threats. I never have and I never will. My job is to tell the story. Death threats and job threats are part of the story. So I will tell about them when necessary and to the extent necessary. I try not to put too much emphasis on them. Because they are not the entire story. I try to give them the right amount of attention, not too much and not too little. I wish that there had never been any death threats or job threats. But that’s not the world we live in. That’s not the reality. We don’t get fewer death threats and fewer job threats by ignoring them, by never talking about them. Ignoring them causes us to see more death threats and more job threats. I am 100 percent sure. Our problem has not been that we have talked too little about death threats and job threats. By not talking about those that have taken place, we have caused more of them to take place. Which is of course not the way that any of […]
Stock markets play an essential role in growing industries that ultimately affect the economy through transferring available funds from units that have excess funds (savings) to those who are suffering from funds deficit (borrowings) (Padhi and Naik, 2012). In other words, capital markets facilitate funds movement between the above-mentioned units. This process leads to the enhancement of available financial resources which in turn affects the economic growth positively. Moreover, both economic and financial theories argue that stock prices are affected by macroeconomic trends.[citation needed]
You have the Nodes in Taurus-Scorpio and Pluto at 0 Scorpio. This is several past lives spent being both rich and poor, and you have incarnated to use all your previous lifetime lessons, in 2018 and 2019. Your spiritual lesson is about the need to let go, where business, money, property or possessions are concerned. Your other lesson is to learn that there is a price to be paid for everything and it may not be in dollars, pounds, or euros – you have to ‘put a price on’ other precious things like integrity, compassion, respect, credibility, trust and so on. I mention this because you have a strong chart signature across the Second House-Eighth House of your chart. In fact, you should really look up both those houses on Search as they have a big impact on you in 2018, 2019. Uranus will move to 0 Taurus and oppose your natal Pluto at 0 Scorpio so it is very important that you are ready to adapt, adjust and make changes very quickly in May and June, particularly where that combination of personal relationships and money is concerned. Pluto seeks to dominate, to control, to take and take over when it comes to business. I am sure you know that about yourself! Uranus opposing Pluto tells you to try and relinquish your grip on the reins and be ready to bend. Don’t hang on tightly or try to cling to the past. You’re not going there.
Essentially, the basic rule of financial astrology is: Favourable planetary alignments through transit contacts with benefics during the dasha periods of well-placed planets will tend to yield price increases, while bad aspects from bad planets -- a square (90 degree) aspect from Saturn for example -- will usually push the share price down. As already noted, situations where unambiguously good or bad planetary patterns predominate occur most of the time. This is the main reason why many astrologers run into trouble. They extrapolate too far on the basis of thin or ambiguous data. A more prudent strategy is to refrain from making predictions at times of conflicting data and only take firm positions when the variables are more clearly defined.
In May 2005, Tesco announced a trial non-food only format near Manchester and Aberdeen,[86] and the first shop opened in October 2005. The shops offered all of Tesco's ranges except food in warehouse-style units in retail parks. Tesco introduced the format as only 20% of its customers had access to a Tesco Extra, and the company was restricted in how many of its superstores it could convert into Extras and how quickly it could do so. Large units for non-food retailing are much more readily available. The format was not Tesco's first non-food only venture in the UK. Until the late 1990s/early 2000s there were several non-food Tesco shops around the country including Scarborough and Yate. Although not in a warehouse-style format, the shops were located on high streets and shopping centres, and stocked similar items to Homeplus shops. In both cases this was because another part of the shopping centre had a Tesco Superstore that stocked food items only. By 2014, the number of Homeplus shops in the United Kingdom had reached 12; the newest shop opened in Chester in July 2009. In 2012 it was reported that Tesco was looking to close the business to focus on groceries.[87] Tesco closed six Homeplus shops on 15 March 2015,[47] and the remaining six shops closed on 27 June 2015.[88]
The planet of abundance, Jupiter, will aspect the conjunction of Sun & Venus on 14th. Over-supply will cheer the Bears, as decrease in demand in the stocks of textiles, cotton, fruits, FMCG, bullions will be noticed. Mercury will move Direct from 15th and will give the Bulls a reasons to feel happy. Banking stocks, Insurance companies, FMCG, Capital goods will rise, after showing small dips in the prices. Rising influence and increased market share of the MNCs will result in reduction of the local business. Overall, annual sales of Rubber, Silver, luxury goods, Zinc and Cotton sector companies may see decline. Third week of the month will see buying interest by the optimistic traders. Saturn is getting retrograde in Sagittarius on 18th. Due to International political games, artificial shortage in crude will be observed. The rates of Oil (BPCL, IOL), Coal (Coal India), Gas (IGL, Mahanagar gas) and Steel (Tata Steel, JSW) sector companies will get bullish impact.

I think worldwide economic chaos could occur during 2018 - 2020, as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse ride, with the Third Horseman being Economic Chaos. World economics could see stock market swings in 2019 - 2020. Watch out for Europe's economy having problems 2019 - 2020. There could be continued economic problems in Europe. The 3rd horseman of the apocalypse economic chaos rides. Note that this is a case of "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions". Good intentions: the Euro single currency seemed like a good idea. Road to Hell: some of the countries (Greece and others) with uncontrolled deficits and borrowing dragged down all of Europe's economy. And Putin may want to take over more of the former Soviet Union countries, similar to Ukraine.

But I think the U.S. stock markets (NYSE and NASDAQ) will do better than Europe and Asia. I think worldwide economic chaos could occur during 2018 - 2019, during the End Times Period when the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse ride, with the Third Horseman being Economic Chaos. World economics will likely see wild swings, oil price instability, stock market swings in 2018 - 2019.
If you could only listen to one person's advice during a stock market crash, let that person be famed investor, Warren Buffett. Not only will the Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-B) (NYSE: BRK-A) chairman and CEO's advice serve you well, but his knack for keeping a clear head -- and even getting a bit greedy (more on that later) -- when everyone else is selling, may make his the only advice you need to navigate uncertain times.

I recently wrote a guest blog entry at the Shark Investor blog entitled I'd Be the Growlingest Bear on the Internet if Only I Were a Bear. Juicy Excerpt: I’m a reporter. I report things. That’s how I’ve made my living for a long time. Never have I seen such an emotional reaction to anything I have reported as I have seen after reporting what the historical data says about how stocks are likely to perform over the next 10 years. Today's Passion: The other version of this one includes…
I've posted Entry #5 to my monthly column at the Balance Junkie site. It's called Five Things Tim Tebow Can Teach Us About Stock Investing. Juicy Excerpt:  The poll shows that the explanations people give for liking Tebow or Manning are rationalizations. People decide for emotional reasons who to support and then turn on the brainpower to concoct explanations for those emotional beliefs that sound sensible. When stocks are priced at three times fair value, there will be dozens of reasons…
And concerning the planet Pluto: in Nov. 2005 there was a very significant astronomy event: it was announced that two more moons of Pluto have been discovered, the previous moon Charon having been discovered in 1978, and is 12024 miles from Pluto, and 752 miles wide, and orbits Pluto in 6.4 days. Pluto being one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Death, as explained on this page, this is very significant. This is another sign that Death will be riding soon. One of the newly discovered moons is 30-80 miles wide, and 30,000 miles from Pluto, and orbits Pluto every 25.5 days. The other new moon is 35-100 miles wide, and 40,000 miles from Pluto, and orbits Pluto every 38 days. Note that on July 14 2015 the NASA New Horizons spacecraft reached Pluto, so will the Fourth Horseman Death ride in 2018 - 2020?
Recessions occur when a little slowdown in spending in an economy feeds on itself. Businesses get a little more cautious in their hiring, so vulnerable workers do a little more precautionary saving, so businesses become more cautious still, and so on. There is nothing structurally broken about the economy when this happens; factories work like they did before and workers have the same skillsets. But because everyone worries and saves a little more, and invests and spends a little less, the economy gets stuck in a downturn. Recessions are an outbreak of collective madness.

“ Business ventures with multiple shareholders became popular with commenda contracts in medieval Italy (Greif 2006, 286), and Malmendier (2009) provides evidence that shareholder companies date back to ancient Rome. Yet the title of the world's first stock market deservedly goes to that of seventeenth-century Amsterdam, where an active secondary market in company shares emerged. The two major companies were the Dutch East India Company and the Dutch West India Company, founded in 1602 and 1621. Other companies existed, but they were not as large and constituted a small portion of the stock market. ”
Interesting about your prediction for a volcanic eruption in Japan – the scientists are predicting that Mt. Fuji is going to erupt and I have seen another prediction of it happening this year. On a side note, I received a message that Mt. St. Helens is also going to erupt this year, but don’t have a clue when. It was just one of those messages that seem to come out of the blue, when I am not even thinking about anything in particular and have no vested interest in the event, for instance living near Mt. St. Helens. I did find another prediction on Google by somebody who claimed it was going to happen in May. We shall see what occurs.
Tesco has expanded its operations outside the UK to 11 other countries in the world. The company pulled out of the USA in 2013, but as of 2018 continues to see growth elsewhere. Tesco's international expansion strategy has responded to the need to be sensitive to local expectations in other countries by entering into joint ventures with local partners, such Charoen Pokphand in Thailand to form Tesco Lotus, and by appointing a very high proportion of local personnel to management positions. It also makes small acquisitions as part of its strategy: for example, in its 2005/2006 financial year it made acquisitions in South Korea, one in Dubai, UAE; one in Poland and one in Japan.[96] On 7 September 2015, Tesco sold its South Korean business, Homeplus, to MBK Partners and partnered with a Canadian pension fund and Temasek Holdings for the deal.[97]
Tesco Express shops are neighbourhood convenience shops averaging 200 square metres (2,200 sq ft), stocking mainly food with an emphasis on higher-margin products such as sweets, crisps, chocolate, biscuits, fizzy drinks and processed food (due to small shop size, and the necessity to maximize revenue per square foot) alongside everyday essentials. They are located in busy city-centre districts, small shopping precincts in residential areas, small towns and villages, and on Esso petrol station forecourts. In 2010 it became known that Tesco was operating Express pricing, charging more in their Express branches than in their regular branches. A spokesperson said that this was "because of the difference in costs of running the smaller shops".[61]
The whole thing is, in essence, pretty much harmless in nature: there’s no real money involved and it’s mostly used to track the life and death of memes. But now the for-real financial nerds at Forbes have decided to write an article analysing the data in a similar fashion to, well, a stock market analysis. And the whole thing is hilarious in a did-they-really-do-that way.
Likewise, stock prices have defeated all forecasting efforts, and may well belong to the same set of basic unpredictability. While occasionally somebody may seem to be on the right side of an investment ahead of a big move, this is a far cry from actually forecasting such move with any kind of precision in terms of timing and size. For each “hunch” that is successful, a myriad others fail. Despite anecdotes, there seems to be no clear evidence that investors who get a big move “right” are anything but lucky.
I agree with Craigs. It’s likely Trump coming to power, one way or other. One way is elections-win. Other way is stern ‘power grab’ or cause some civil unrest. Something bad is going to happen starting mid-Nov regarding Trump, throughout 2017. May be civil unrest throughout 2017-2018….. A huge possibility of War between India-Pakistan, and Muslims being destroyed in 2017 all over the world…. Then it would be West vs Russia and China… 2020 is the finish line, that could wipe off up to 95% world population of living beings, not just humans. HOWEVER, if spiritual people plan differently, then God-power will intervene and save major collapse… these being future events, the post-US election is going to be ‘war’. Likely a totally new ‘spiritual entity/power’ will rise up in US and possibly prevent major events. May be? (Just guessing after reading things online, and what I feel is ‘right’, intuitively).
In the case of books, it would be wise not to try to reinvent the wheel. If you know a book is excellent for investing, then pick it up and start reading. For example, if Warren Buffet says to read “The Intelligent Investor” by Benjamin Graham then you’d better find it and start reading. Admittedly, some of the older books on the topic of investing are very dry. In this case, it may be helpful to get the audio version.
Since Saturn will be entering Aquarius later in 2020, I predict that the shift towards the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies will be inevitable, in whatever form it will be by then… After all, Aquarius is the reformer of the zodiac and once Saturn in Capricorn tears up the poorly operating structures, removing illegal operations, scammy cryptocurrencies, ICOs and even IPOs (in traditional markets), it will want to adopt a new world order. We will not see the ultimate results of that until well into mid-2020’s (so mark my words 😉) because we will also be dealing with some environmental issues (but I won’t discuss that now), but for now, sit tight and don’t even think about fooling the system anymore. Trust me, Saturn in Capricorn won’t allow you to…
I have written about this extensively in my book called Messages from the Universe. In short, we are at the cusp of a better age (called Yugas) – in fact we are a few hundred years into it according to some enlightened Indian teachers. The transition will be difficult but as it progresses the spirit will become stronger than the powers of materialism. Initially we will discover new forms of energy. These will be material at first – for example the Vedas says there are 8 forms of electricity to be discovered – but also new spiritual powers will unfold such as ESP in the general population but also powers over matter. The later stages involve a sort of spiritual magnetism that will allow us direct communication with the spirit world and other dimensions of existence – but that’s many thousands of years ahead in humankind’s evolution. For now we have some bumps but all will be well.

Think back too about how you handled past downturns or, for that matter, how you reacted when stocks began to dip and dive. You may not be able to nail it exactly, but you want to come as close as you can to a blend of stocks and bonds that you'll be okay holding in a variety of market conditions, and then make whatever adjustments are necessary to get you to that mix.
I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the My Personal Finance Journey site called The Magic (and Limits) of Using Historical Data to Guide Your Investing Decisions. Juicy Excerpt: Whenever I find myself saying something negative about Buy-and-Hold (which is often!), I make it a point to add a mention somewhere of how much respect and affection and gratitude I feel for the Buy-and-Holders. One of the reasons I feel this way is that I believe so strongly that they are on the right track in…

"While it's difficult to pinpoint what type of trader would enjoy this book the most, I think there's something for everyone, whether you're a quaint, technical trader or a fundamentalist. . . . I feel that I'm smarter after finishing this book; I thoroughly enjoyed the lengthy journey, and would recommend this to any stock market enthusiast."---Jeff Pierce, Seeking Alpha
During the 2019 - 2020 time period expect to see economic chaos, wars, terrorist attacks, disease epidemics, great earthquakes, volcanos, asteroids hit earth. But how about in the past, were there any particular planetary alignments during times of economic problems? Yes, there is a general pattern we shall discuss here. During the October 1987 and October 1929 stock exchange crashes, the Planet Saturn was in the Astrological sign of Sagittarius. The significance of this is that Sagittarius, the combined horse/man, with Saturn having a connection in Greek / Roman / Etruscan mythology to agriculture as well as weghts and measures and coins, means that Saturn in Sagittarius represents the third Horseman of the Apocalypse, economic depression. When Saturn is in Sagittarius you may get the trigger event, such as a stock market crash, that begins an economic depression.
No definitive conclusions have been reached on the reasons behind the 1987 Crash. Stocks had been in a multi-year bull run and market P/E ratios in the U.S. were above the post-war average. The S&P 500 was trading at 23 times earnings, a postwar high and well above the average of 14.5 times earnings.[29] Herd behavior and psychological feedback loops play a critical part in all stock market crashes but analysts have also tried to look for external triggering events. Aside from the general worries of stock market overvaluation, blame for the collapse has been apportioned to such factors as program trading, portfolio insurance and derivatives, and prior news of worsening economic indicators (i.e. a large U.S. merchandise trade deficit and a falling U.S. dollar, which seemed to imply future interest rate hikes).[30]
I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Options for Rookies blog. It's called Advice on Options from a Fellow Who Knows Nothing About Options. You won't see the blog entry if you follow the link. Mark Wolfinger, the owner of the blog, explains why in comments that now appear at the link under the headline "Guest Blog. Deleted." Juicy Excerpt: Permitting this specific guest blogger to post here has opened an unintentional can of worms. I do not want to be involved in his…
In terms of big financial decisions—such as when to submit a book I’m trying to sell and when to make investments—he said I should take action only on two particular days of the week. Heavenly bodies in astrology are assigned an affinity for certain days, and according to my birth chart, I have a strong Moon arrangement (which rules Monday) and a powerful Jupiter connection (which controls Thursday, the day on which I was born).
Now, me…. I’m doing meditation, clearing debts, and planning to just see what happens and not much options due to illness but in any case – I’ve got Jupiter Taurus natal at 20 and Scorpio sun at 24. I just don’t dare hope but thought I’d ask what you think? I’m zen about life so don’t sugarcoat, if you have time and I’m not too late to this. Wishing you the best! Thanks Jessica
Predictions or opinions it seems the two fit hand in glove and it don’t take a mystic to see the world is heading for testing times, it is always heading for testing times, I will take the predictions I read here with a pinch of optimistic salt. We see the world as we are not as the world is and if you look only for the bad that is what you will find, myself I have yet to read in a newspaper the billion random acts of kindness that take place every day because it never makes the newspapers. So ask yourself is no news good news.
The 1929 crash brought the Roaring Twenties to a halt.[35] As tentatively expressed by economic historian Charles P. Kindleberger, in 1929, there was no lender of last resort effectively present, which, if it had existed and been properly exercised, would have been key in shortening the business slowdown that normally follows financial crises.[32] The crash marked the beginning of widespread and long-lasting consequences for the United States. Historians still debate the question: did the 1929 Crash spark The Great Depression,[36] or did it merely coincide with the bursting of a loose credit-inspired economic bubble? Only 16% of American households were invested in the stock market within the United States during the period leading up to the depression, suggesting that the crash carried somewhat less of a weight in causing the depression.
Thank you for sharing these predictions; this is very interesting to read. Do you think flight MH370 will ever be found or it’ll stay a mystery? I also notice society has become very shallow, self-centred and obsessed to become famous – talented or not. Do you think society will keep “praising” talentless celebrities? I can’t wait the day these self-centred people go back to the shadow but it seems that day will never happen. I was shocked when people took selfies in front of the terror attack at the Lindt Café in Sidney last month – I thought the 21st century would be spiritual, less materialistic. This is so sad – I don’t foresee a Golden Age: only a golden age for technology but not for humanity 🙁
(2) A key sign in 1998-99 that could relate to the arrival of the Antichrist was on April 23, 1998, (and also Feb. 23, 1999) when the planet Venus approached close to Jupiter in the sky. Jupiter relates to the Antichrist, because Jupiter and Thor (the Scandinavian equivalent) are said to control lightning and thunder, and the Antichrist is said to bring "fire down from heaven", which sounds like lightning. Venus having a close conjunction to Jupiter could mean Jupiter is "lit" by the close approach of Venus. There was a similar but much closer approach of Venus to Jupiter on June 17, 2 B.C., near the time of birth of Christ; the 2 planets actually appeared to merge in the sky. This could have accounted for the Star of Bethlehem legend; the 3 wise men were Astrologers, and such an unusual planetary conjunction would have had great significance for them. So, these similar conjunctions in 1998 and 1999, and on February 1 2008 a close approach of Venus and Jupiter to within .5 degree, could mean the Antichrist rose to power in 2000 and I think he is Russian President Putin. And note that on May 17, 2000 Venus and Jupiter also had a very close conjunction, only 4' apart, but were too close to the morning sun to be seen. And note that on Nov. 4, 2004, Venus passed within .6 degree of Jupiter. Also on July 1 2015 there was a close conjunction in the sky of Venus and Jupiter, and on on October 28 2015 a close conjunction of Venus, Jupiter, and Mars.
Set forth below is the text of an e-mail that I sent to the author of the Pop Economics Blog on February 25: Pop: This is Rob Bennett, author of the "A Rich Life" blog. Rajiv Sethi linked yesterday to your blog entry defending the Buy-and-Hold model from my criticisms of it. In my comment (at the bottom of the long comments section), I said that I would contact you to see if you have an interest in hosting a Guest Blog Entry by me responding to the points you made in the "Rob Bait"…
Hedge funds are an alternative for investors with large enough portfolios. Hedge funds use a combination of long and short positions, and other strategies to generate returns regardless of the direction of the overall market. However, when considering hedge funds, you should tread with caution and do your own research. Some hedge funds have performed very well, especially during bear markets – but many others have performed very poorly. Just because a hedge fund is called a hedge fund it does not mean it will perform well during a crash.

On 1 September 2014, Dave Lewis, previously of Unilever, took over as CEO.[45] In January 2015, Lewis announced plans to close the company's head office in Cheshunt and 43 loss-making shops in the near future, and the cancellation of 49 new large supermarket developments.[46] The shop closures were expected to make 2,000 staff redundant, while a further £250 million of cost-cutting measures were planned.[47]
