In 2016 for my 2017 predictions made through the Sun Newspaper online I correctly predicted a Tory Government but did not foresee the comeback of Jeremy Corbyn. My main prediction was that there would arise a new political party made up of politicians from all of the other parties. This has not happened yet but it has become a serious issue that is now in the news. I believe this will continue to become a news story and we will eventually see a new party formed. I also spoke about a landmark going up in flames in London. I saw this to be the Houses of Parliament but I was wrong about this. However, there was a huge fire in a landmark building with the Grenfell tower fire and some have commented here that this is probably what I ‘saw’. Others have said that this could be a symbol for the Westminster Bridge terrorist attacks.
Perhaps the most important of these is the horoscope of the New York Stock Exchange which was founded May 17, 1792. There are several times out there for this chart, with different astrologers making a case for each. After much testing, I find the 10.30 am chart to be the most accurate. I have rectified to 10.34 am in order to make better use of the smaller chart varga divisions in Jyotish. This is quite a powerful chart, although one needs to stand outside of the Vedic tradition to fully appreciate it. Uranus, the planet of unbounded energy and sudden change, rises within one degree of the ascendant while Venus, the planet of money and luxury, culminates very near the Midheaven. Venus and Uranus together spell "fast or accelerated money" better than just about any other planetary combinations I can think of and therein perfectly describe the rapid movement of money on the trading floor. However appropriate that symbolism, it is more important that the chart adequately reflect major price movements over its long history. It does this well indeed regardless if one uses Western or Vedic techniques, as I do. This ability to see the dynamic of both bull and bear markets regardless of one's operating paradigm is a sign of the robustness of this chart.
Although we’ve seen more recognition of cryptocurrencies as investment vehicle, they’re still considered high-risk investments. Some see Bitcoin as safe-haven in case of a global crash due to its decentralized nature, the low correlation with the stock markets and the limited supply. Though, there is no reliable data available on how cryptocurrencies behave during a stock market crash. However, if you’re willing to take the risk, adding a small percentage of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency stocks to a diversified portfolio could be a worthwhile investment decision.
The CAPE ratio (also known as Shiller P/E ratio) is a long term cyclically adjusted measure of equity valuations devised by the respected economist Robert Shiller. The CAPE ratio has been at historically high level for several years, although high valuations alone do not mean a crash is imminent. Whether US stock prices today are in a stock bubble or not is debatable. In general, bubbles do not necessarily imply a crash, unless there is a catalyst.
Jacob at the My Personal Finance Journey blog has posted a blog entry tiled Valuation-Informed Indexing vs. Passive Investing: Which Is Better? Juicy Excerpt #1: While Valuation-Informed Index Investing may have outperformed passive investing in most previous historical periods, evidence of it not performing as well in recent years is enough to keep me as a passive investor, at least until VII is refined. Juicy Excerpt #2: Valuation-Informed Index Investing has great potential because it…
Academic Researcher Silenced by Threats to Get Him Fired From His Job After Showing Dangers of Buy-and-Hold Investing StrategiesMy aim is to get this story reported on the front page of the New York Times. On the day that happens, all the nastiness will stop. We will all be working together to bring the economic crisis to an end and to enter the greatest period of economic growth in our history.
In 2019, I think the U.S. will do better than the much of the world (Europe may have worse problems). As for Russia, watch out for a mother bear that has lost its cubs-- as Russia has lost its former satellite countries. Russia has turned into an angry bear under Putin. This is because Putin is the Antichrist, the Satanic imitation of Christ, who rises to power during a period of world chaos described in the Bible's Book of Revelation. Note that Putin is likely to use natural gas and oil exports from Russia as a means to manipulate former Soviet Union countries and Western Europe.
One of the worst stock market crashes in U.S. history was the Panic of 1907. The stock market fell by about 50% during a three-week period in October and November of 1907, and started with a stock manipulation scheme gone wrong, which led to the collapse of the Knickerbocker Trust. This subsequently led to a panic that resulted in a string of bank failures.
When someone like me makes a prophecy, we do sometimes ‘see’ things about to happen in the future and get the general feel of what will happen right but not all of it. I have to say that also when the unconscious mind impresses something into the medium’s consciousness it can be in an exaggerated form. These things work in a similar way to dreams that use allegory, symbolism, metaphor, and exaggeration to impress a point on the conscious mind. This is not an excuse, it is just the way it works and applies as much to me as Nostradamus, John Dee, Edgar Cayce or anyone else who has the gift of prophecy.
Hedge funds are an alternative for investors with large enough portfolios. Hedge funds use a combination of long and short positions, and other strategies to generate returns regardless of the direction of the overall market. However, when considering hedge funds, you should tread with caution and do your own research. Some hedge funds have performed very well, especially during bear markets – but many others have performed very poorly. Just because a hedge fund is called a hedge fund it does not mean it will perform well during a crash.
Of course, that's an average and the market's return is seldom steady and predictable. Yet, it's important to remember that these attractive returns include many periods when the markets have lost a quarter or half their value, or worse. As a result, even if you know a crash is coming at some point, which it very likely is at some point in the coming years, then it's not a reason to avoid stocks. Provided you can stick with it you'll likely see decent returns from diversified global stocks even including the catastrophic crashes that scare you.
There are a lot of threats to the market, not the least of which is that this bull is long in the tooth and valuations have gotten quite high. However, making market predictions is an exercise in hubris. I have lost much more money than I have made in the stock market by listening to one prediction or another. These days, I try to stay diversified in good quality assets (not just stocks) and don’t base my holdings on what I think the market will do in the future.
