In January 2013, the British media reported that horse meat had been found in some meat products sold by Tesco, along with other retailers, particularly burgers. Prime Minister David Cameron called this "unacceptable", with products showing 29.1% horse meat in the "Value" range burger, which were supposed to be beef.[152][153] It was later revealed in February 2013 that some of Tesco's Everyday Value Spaghetti Bolognese contained 60% horse meat.[154] Tesco withdrew 26 of its products in response, and announced that they were working with authorities and the supplier to investigate the cause of the contamination.[155]

On Black Monday, the markets were a bit different than today. That’s the explanation that many market optimists like to offer when they explain why another Black Monday can’t happen. That is, the market cannot lose some 23% of its value in a single trading session. They might be right, but in the opposite direction. The markets now have human as well as computer input through so-called robot trading. They have more variables and are more complicated. But information and risks travel much faster. If anything, the risks of a major market crash are higher today.
This is all rather daunting…why do you suggest house and apartment market? I also had a massive shock Recently. My Niece gave birth to a special child. All our plans as a family for house, apartment and financial security etc have already undergone a change. I dread to think about more change. There is just so much that is in flux. I worry about how we might be walking into more challenges.

There isn’t really a definition of a stock market crash. A correction occurs when stocks fall more than 10% from recent highs. A bear market is usually a sustained drop in prices, with prices falling at least 20% below recent highs. While there is no precise definition of a stock market crash, if the market falls more than 15% in a matter of days, many people would probably refer to it as a crash.
Possibly the Antichrist was elected as Russian President Putin in the spring of 2000. See the Russia section for a discussion of this and some interesting facts on President Vladimir Putin. Also indicating Putin is the Antichrist: Putin visited Rome on November 4 2003, on the day there was the largest solar eruption from the sun in history. And November 8 2003, during a lunar eclipse, there was a hexagon astrology pattern (6 sides, as in 666) that I relate to the Antichrist Putin, also on the Putin page.

(Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, chapter 1, pp. 18–43). As Goetzmann & Rouwenhorst (2008) noted, "The 17th and 18th centuries in the Netherlands were a remarkable time for finance. Many of the financial products or instruments that we see today emerged during a relatively short period. In particular, merchants and bankers developed what we would today call securitization. Mutual funds and various other forms of structured finance that still exist today emerged in the 17th and 18th centuries in Holland."
I've posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Hope to Prosper site titled The Economic Crisis Is the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Us. Juicy Excerpt #1: there is today a mismatch between how we think stocks work and how stocks really do work that must be addressed and that the mismatch has been ignored for so long that a point was reached at which an economic crisis was the only way to force a change. Juicy Excerpt #2: Things change. There have never before been millions of middle-class people…
According to estimates from JPMorgan Chase in June 2017, just 10% of all stock-trading volume is the result of investors picking stocks to buy and sell. The remainder of trading volume primarily derives from quantitative-based computer trading. Essentially, we’re talking about computer programs that aim to secure small profits via high-frequency trading (HFT) hundreds or thousands of times a day.

It was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States, when taking into consideration the full extent and duration of its after effects.[1] The crash, which followed the London Stock Exchange's crash of September, signalled the beginning of the 12-year Great Depression that affected all Western industrialized countries.[2]
Thank you. Home is really Cancer in your chart, as Cancer rules the Fourth House, which describes your apartment or house. You have not logged in, so I can’t see your birth chart, but I suspect you and/or your husband have Cancer factors in your birth charts, and the reason you have spent years without feeling settled, is that Pluto in Capricorn (the opposite sign to Cancer) has been slowly clashing with just about everything in your combined Fourth Houses, in the sign of Cancer. Log in and I’ll try to get to this list again tomorrow.
I wrote a Guest Blog Entry re the new Returns-Sequence Reality Checker calculator that appears today at the Consumerism Commentary blog. It's called The Good Side of Stocks' Lost Decade. Juicy Excerpt: The reason why I call the calculator “The Reality Checker” is that it throws doubt on one of our most fundamental beliefs about stock investing — that positive returns are good and that negative returns are bad. It’s not hard to understand why most of us think that. If your stock…
October 2018 is turning out to be a lot like October 2008.  The S&P 500 has now fallen for 12 of the last 14 trading days, and it is on pace for its worst October since the last financial crisis.  But the U.S. is actually in much better shape than the rest of the world at this point.  Even though they have fallen precipitously in recent days, U.S. stocks are still up 3 percent for the year overall.  On the other hand, global stocks (excluding the U.S.) are now down more than 10 percent for the year, and they are down more than 15 percent from the peak of the market in January.  All it is going to take is a couple more really bad trading sessions to push global stocks into bear market territory.
Bonjour Jean-Sebastien!
I have the overwhelming feeling that California is going to have a mass earthquake that will split the state not just in the San Francisco area but in Los Angeles as well. I’m a native of the state and the last time I went back to visit family, I could hardly wait to leave. If there is an earthquake in China, I predict it will start a ripple effect. Had this feeling for 2 years now. Hope I’m wrong.

hcks, we’ve been looking all over Houston for you. We have reserved a seat for you on Niburu when it gets close enough to board via the secret mind control surf boards we’ve stashed away for those of us in the ” know.” We’re making sure you’ll be sitting next to Dave Hodges and your scientist friend, you know, the one whose name can never be mentioned lest the Earth be ravaged by brain eating dreadlock zombies, you know, THAT scientist friend. By the way, we have been able to confirm that Ted Turner is indeed and has been a cannibal for years now, so he’s looking forward to some fine dinning once the shtf next April. Stay on your normal frequency as we may need to transmit additional instructions to you without delay.

I have to admit that the feeling I had before the initial crash was intense and urgent. Since then it has been erratic. I picked the end of December into January because this is when Pluto is exactly conjunct the Dow Jones first house. Of course if the date or time was off in that chart (which is always possible) then we could have seen the hit at 0 degree instead of the 1 degree in the official chart.

Last time I spoke about right-wing riots in Germany. This too has happened and will continue to get worse through 2018. There will continue to be a cultural division within Germany and France and they will see worsening racial troubles and riots ahead. (CORRECT 10/10 Riots in Germany see 27th August “Guardian protests in the eastern city of Chemnitz” )
Stock market participation refers to the number of agents who buy and sell equity backed securities either directly or indirectly in a financial exchange. Participants are generally subdivided into three distinct sectors; households, institutions, and foreign traders. Direct participation occurs when any of the above entities buys or sells securities on its own behalf on an exchange. Indirect participation occurs when an institutional investor exchanges a stock on behalf of an individual or household. Indirect investment occurs in the form of pooled investment accounts, retirement accounts, and other managed financial accounts.
I have to tell you I have been telling people since I was a little girl that the world is going to end as we know. I know something is going to happen that many will die. That there will only be a hand full of us left and we will have start over. I am not sure what is suppose to happen but I feel it getting closer. A few weeks ago I had a dream but who knows if it is true.
I recently posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Balance Junkie site titled How to Use Valuation-Informed Indexing -- Part Two. Juicy Excerpt: The smart Valuation-Informed Indexer prepares not only for the most likely outcome but for all other realistic possibilities. And the smart Valuation-Informed Indexer takes into consideration the emotional hit he will feel if he shifts to a low stock allocation because prices are high and stocks perform well for a few years or if he shifts to a high stock…
Mercury will rise in the West on 9th. This will help the traders having some relief. Business sentiments will improve and there will be visible overall sense of security. Jupiter will enter Scorpio sign on 11th and will bring hope & optimism in the market. Stocks of textiles, Cotton and Bullions will see an upsurge in demand. Indices will start moving Northwards on almost daily basis. Exports order will boost the economy and Rupee s value against Dollar will also improve. Buying interests will be further fuelled by the entry of Mercury in Scorpio sign and conjoining Jupiter on 26th. To increase the demand in Gold, the Bullion dealers will offer many new schemes to attract the customers. Stocks of wool, textiles and health/ fitness related companies will rise. (e.g. Talwalkars, Monte Carlo, Lovable, Kitex & Trident etc).
I have posted a Guest Blog Entry at the Invest It Wisely site called The Biggest Unknown Risk of Stock Investing. Juicy Excerpt: My strong sense is that most investors have not thought through carefully what it means to stick with stocks for the long run. To try to stick with stocks for the long run and fail to do so is the worst of all possible worlds. The possibility of becoming a failed Buy-and-Hold investor is the biggest unknown risk of stock investing. Juicy Comment #1: I agree…
Also, investments and business dealings with Russia should be avoided. Europe and in particular Germany, which are increasing economic and political connections with Russia, I think are making a big mistake that will be regretted when Putin turns against Europe in the future. Putin is evil, but Europe will be fooled by him. Watch out for a mother bear (Russia) that has lost its cubs (Russia's empire), it can be an angry mother bear. I think Russia's economy will actually grow under Putin, but I think Russia will turn very dangerous and angry towards the West within a few years.
“Across assets, these projections look tame relative to what the GFC delivered and probably unalarming relative to the recession/crisis averages” of the past, JPMorgan strategists John Normand and Federico Manicardi wrote, noting that during the recession and ensuing global financial crisis the S&P 500 fell 54 per cent from its peak. “We would nudge them all at least to their historical norms due to the wildcard from structurally less-liquid markets.”
So this is the rectified chart I did. In this one you can see Uranus hitting the Saturn in the 9th and Pluto is at 19 degrees. In this one Mars is right on the cusp of the 5th. The 5th rules gambling and we can see Venus/South Node/Sun/Mercury transiting the 7th making a roll over natal Pluto in Aquarius (7th house/legal issues) and most of those planets making an opposition to the natal Uranus in the 1st house. Neptune is also in the 8th starting to oppose the natal Mars and starting an inconjunction to natal Uranus in the 1st – lots of volatility. Transiting Saturn is also in the 5th making a trine to Venus causing constriction in gambling but it seems to suggest that once it moves past the 5th it could settle down. Now I’m going to go back to the alternate chart and see if it makes a big difference for this same period.
Many factors likely contributed to the collapse of the stock market. Among the more prominent causes were the period of rampant speculation (those who had bought stocks on margin not only lost the value of their investment, they also owed money to the entities that had granted the loans for the stock purchases), tightening of credit by the Federal Reserve (in August 1929 the discount rate was raised from 5 percent to 6 percent), the proliferation of holding companies and investment trusts (which tended to create debt), a multitude of large bank loans that could not be liquidated, and an economic recession that had begun earlier in the summer.
A stock exchange is an exchange (or bourse)[note 1] where stock brokers and traders can buy and sell shares of stock, bonds, and other securities. Many large companies have their stocks listed on a stock exchange. This makes the stock more liquid and thus more attractive to many investors. The exchange may also act as a guarantor of settlement. Other stocks may be traded "over the counter" (OTC), that is, through a dealer. Some large companies will have their stock listed on more than one exchange in different countries, so as to attract international investors.[7]
Shilling is particularly worried about the $8 trillion in dollar-denominated emerging-market corporate and sovereign debt, especially as the U.S. dollar rises along with interest rates. “The problem is as the dollar increases,” he said, “it gets tougher and tougher for them to service [that debt] because it takes more and more of their local currency to do so.” Of that, $249 billion must be repaid or refinanced through next year, Bloomberg reported.
In 2019, I think the U.S. will do better than the much of the world (Europe may have worse problems). As for Russia, watch out for a mother bear that has lost its cubs-- as Russia has lost its former satellite countries. Russia has turned into an angry bear under Putin. This is because Putin is the Antichrist, the Satanic imitation of Christ, who rises to power during a period of world chaos described in the Bible's Book of Revelation. Note that Putin is likely to use natural gas and oil exports from Russia as a means to manipulate former Soviet Union countries and Western Europe.
By grounding astrology in the less mystical-sounding business cycle, Williams inspired a new generation of financial astrologers. The most decorated is Arch Crawford, 77. Mark Hulbert, a ranker of financial newsletters, has rated Crawford the country’s top stock market timer a number of times. One of his biggest wins came in 2008, when he essentially called the crash. Crawford, a veteran of Merrill Lynch & Co., nails his CNBC soundbites and comes off as only mildly eccentric when discussing his craft. “I have the moon on the midheaven in Capricorn, which means I gain the attention of people without trying,” he tells me. “I have been written up in all the best places.”

The Stock-Return PredictorStocks are NOT always worth buying. That’s a Wall Street lie! This calculator performs a regression analysis on the 140 years of historical stock-return data to reveal the most likely annualized 10-year return for stocks starting from any valuation level. It essentially tells you the price tag for stocks so that you can know whether they are worth buying or not.

Of course your sister works in a bank – Mars in Taurus is suited to that. Uranus will not cross her Mars completely until 2019 so she has time, but essentially everything from climate change, to new banks, to new government rules, to devaluation of currency (and of course cryptocurrency) is going to sweep her world, very quickly. She can make this work for her but she’s going to have to be in the first wave.
And see the calendar pages on how a triangle pattern appeared on the sun on March 14 2012 when there was a 999 (666 upside-down) grand trine triangle astrology pattern, after the March 4 election of Putin the Antichrist in Russia. Does Putin the Antichrist 666 have power over the sun? Revelation 13:13 (King James version) on the Antichrist: "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men." Solar flares? Putin was reelected as Russian President on March 4 2012, and 2 days later March 6 the sun sent a solar flare towards earth. See this page on Putin's connection to Ra the Egyptian sun deity. And the Cold War appears to be returning, with Putin returned as Russian President, a Russian General having made threats in May 2012 of a nuclear strike against NATO ABM Anti Ballistic Missile sites being deployed in Eastern Europe. Revelation 13:13 (King James version): "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men." So could Revelation 13:13 be about Putin (or North Korea) launching a nuclear missile strike on Europe or the U.S., starting World War 3 in the future? Or could this be about Putin causing giant solar flares to hit the earth?
Hey DK. Since your brain is pegged to the 4th dimension. The $30 K I lost was back in 2002 when the dot com blew. I was making $90 K a year. Like spilled beer. Did not affect me. I was trading $20 K blocks at a time day trading. Its called the market maker, making the stock move. These are things you could only dream of. You cant even understand foreign exchange. The Yuan is not pegged to the dollar as you claim. You should stick to simple shit like beans and bullets. Economics is beyond you…
Any investor or investment professional who seeks a genuine understanding of looming financial disasters should read this book. Physicists, geologists, biologists, economists, and others will welcome Why Stock Markets Crash as a highly original "scientific tale," as Sornette aptly puts it, of the exciting and sometimes fearsome--but no longer quite so unfathomable--world of stock markets.

Just curious, since you are closer to the “action” out there. Do you or anybody know if there is any type of timetable or budget for the great investigator [Mueller]? Or do he and his posse have a blank check with this whole White House investigation? I would be interested in what this little crusade has cost us so far, since he has summoned quite a group to leave no stone, rock, or post unturned.

On October 29, William C. Durant joined with members of the Rockefeller family and other financial giants to buy large quantities of stocks to demonstrate to the public their confidence in the market, but their efforts failed to stop the large decline in prices. Due to the massive volume of stocks traded that day, the ticker did not stop running until about 7:45 p.m. The market had lost over $30 billion in the space of two days, including $14 billion on October 29 alone.[15]

JPMorgan’s Marko Kolanovic has previously concluded that the big shift away from actively managed investing -- through the rise of index funds, exchange-traded funds and quantitative-based trading strategies -- has escalated the danger of market disruptions. He and his colleagues wrote in a separate note Monday of the potential for a future “Great Liquidity Crisis.”
